I have a question about Richard Hamilton. He wears that clear fascemask. At first I thought it was to protect a facial injury that he suffered, but he's been wearing that thing for a few years now. Is there another reason why he wears it?

I think he wears it because he is superstitious-he played well with it and now doesn't want to take it off. I think he is also trying to protect his nose from another break.

His nose has been healed forever. I read somewhere he just got used to it and was playing well so he kept it on.

Personally I think he should have to remove it. I don't think you should be able to wear injury related gear if you don't have an injury.

I agree....it is sort of like all the body armor baseball players wear to the plate even after whatever injuries have healed.

Hamilton had so many nose breaks that were close to each other that he had to have reconstructive surgery in 2004. This left his nose fragile forever and if he wants to stay on the active roster in the NBA, he must protect his nose. It's not a good luck charm or a superstition; it's about playing basketball and not crushing his rebuilt nose. You guys are a tough crowd!!!
