Any Experience with a Good Cat 6 midship???

DW and I are discussing our next cruise booking for 2005 now that the prices are out. We have one of the Secret Verandah rooms for the next cruise but DW is concerned about being at the rear of the ship with seasickness etc. I have tried to convince her that it is not a concern but the $200 difference for three people for a week is not worth a battle that I may win but will have the remainder of the war ahead of me (I'm sure many husbands will know what I mean )
Anyway has anyone stayed in a Category 6 midships that was good for proximity to elevators and activities and NOT noisy?

6556 was the best! You're just ahead of the mid-ship elevators but we never heard a thing from the elevator area. You are mere steps away from the kids clubs (down one flight and the entrances are *right* there) and a few quick flights up for sun/buffet and down for dinner/shows.

It was incredible!

We're going with a Cat 9 this year and trying Deck 2- I know the stairs will be tougher, but I'm hoping it helps me fight off the souffle calories.

Also, I think at least 3 folks on this board have had this room and I think we all booked through DU - it might be in their "regular' grouping of rooms

We were in 6060 which is right by the elevators and we never had any trouble with noise. It was great because after a while all the rooms and halls look alike at the end of a long day and we never got lost!

As long as your a little offset from the elevators, things are pretty quiet. You'll get more noise from noisy neibors than from the hall way.

I can say that things are a little more quiet in a Cat 5 because there are fewwer people on Deck 7 because there are fewwer inside staterooms. But the difference isn't worth the cost. The only times we've been in Cat 5 was when DCL was running fall promotions where Cat 5 and 6 sold for the same amount.

One Cat.6 was midship on deck six, the other cat. 6 was aft on deck five, and the cat. 5 was aft on deck seven. I can honestly say that I did not feel any difference between these cabins what so ever!!

It isn't mid ship, but 5622 is the first room to the left when you get off the Deck 5 AFT elevators - you have a verandah, no one on your left side - the tops of the lifeboats but the view is NOT obscured - across the hall is a "crew only" door which is used during embarkation and Friday night (before midnight) for luggage movement. It is also cat 6.

We prefer that to the others we have seen or stayed in.

One other question is the dreaded "metal or plexiglass"??
We DEFINITELY want the plexiglass. Our daughter is old enough to have no worries about climbing etc and I lent my Passporter to friends (who live about 100 kms away and won't be getting it back for a month or so) and want to be sure the midship Cat. 6's are plexiglass.
I'd be very happy with the Secret Verandah room. Why did I even ask DW!!??!?! I should have just booked and said that was all that was available

Are the FAR aft ones by the curve of the ship. Anything else is plexiglass

Better book this quick... DW was looking at the one bedroom suites too. I just about had the big one then.
Better start saving for my "Formal Hawaiian shirt and shorts" for formal night.

Well just booked a Category 6.
Thanks for all of the advice. I chose 6556 and looking at the deckplans it does NOT have a door adjoining it to another room which is a bonus so we took it.
Called Allseas who's price was $50 cheaper than Disney's and also got a $100 onboard credit. I'll recheck this March and see what the rate is onboard with the $200 credit and rebook then if need be and then transfer it over to All Seas.
Now to start saving to pay for it
