Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Tonight The Weather Channel is doing an "escape the election" with video/pictures of beautiful scenery and relaxing jazz from 3pm-midnight!

I plan to relax and escape via a long trail ride on horses with my daughter this afternoon if this rain didn't make the ground too wet out at the barn. I'm always so happy and chill after riding that I'm hoping the effect will last well into the night. If the rain makes this impossible, then Gilmore Girls will be my back up plan, but I may check into the Weather Channel for some beautiful scenery. Too bad I don't like jazz.

Keeping the home fires burning here too!

I've not been feeling much like posting of late but, I'm reading. I think things south of the border are making me nervous but, I'm cautiously optimistic. God Bless America!

For you, Micca -

Tonight I have my own version of "escape the Election". Making a can of spaghettiO's with a little cottage cheese on top; calling it my lasagna; take a pain killer a little later and watch Season 2 now of Weeds. Gotta love gum surgery recovery!!! :P

Micca, good luck to you. And.... if I see anyone aimlessly wondering around in a Santa Claus suit I'll know it's you. :santa:
Sherry, hope your back starts feeling better.....
Haven't seen Jevs, is she on her trip yet?
Dan, I will check later to see if my Danny felt the OK earthquake.

It's a test: How many fingers am I holding up? I can clearly see with my now-good left eye the answer is "4":) Had my right eye worked on this morning and in a few days I should be glasses free--the first time since I was 6.

Some observations so far: I can read the digital clock by the bed without glasses. I can see in the shower (gonna have to work on that mildew.) It's gonna be weird to be able to see in the swimming pool. Looking forward to: Getting out of the air conditioned car on a hot day and not having my vision fog up, and finally it'll be nice to open the oven to check what's cooking without my glasses fogging over. Bonus: I'm going to get some cool shades and if I lose them it won't be like I lost a $400 pair of prescription sunglasses. Bonus#2: I have a small stack of books that has been growing over the past couple of years because it was kind of difficult to read for any period of time. Cold weather's on the way so I'll be catching up on those. Bonus #3: Can't wait to get back to WDW and take in all the details I've been missing over the years. :mickeyjum

Hope all my fellow ALDIO-ians are well!

I'm so happy for you Micca! :yay:

Today it looked cold and was overcast all day. Made all of us at work want to sleep. Unfortunately it looked cold outside, but wasn't so wore a lighter shirt to work. Got to work and the AC in my room was freezing. Darn the luck.

SO NICE!! My DH grew up on a farm, he loves horseback riding. He even has a saddle that he won in a competition when he was 16. I am so afraid of horses but may suck it up on our cruise. They have a horseback in the water excursion - he would love that. Heck if I fall off I can go snorkeling!!

We've had pretty nice days last couple day. I honestly think one of the guys I work is menopausal :rotfl2::rotfl2: He wears shorts all the time & turns on the AC with a fan behind him. Dude I am the 55 yo woman - WTH!!:rotfl::rotfl:

It's been in the low-to-mid teens (Celsius, which is high 50's F) here all week; record-breaking weather for November! People are back out in sandals, capris and sleeveless tops! It is soooo hard to put the summer stuff away and climb back into the winter-woollies for another 6 or 7 months. :(

Love this but he's only a couple years younger maybe 47 or 48.

Where does he get off being that much younger than me??? ;) I think it was around my 50th b'day that I lost all my tolerance for cold. Used to keep my work space nice & frosty, didn't mind being out in weather as along as it was above 20 or so. Now I get cold at the grocery store.
