Our flight out is at 3:05. Is this enough time to settle in and use the pool etc? I booked a room hoping to have our in laws meet us by the pool for a few hours rather than rushing through a restaurant lunch, but wonder if we'll be there long enough to justify it?

Our flight left at 3pm. We debarked a little after 8am, checked into the Hyatt at 9:30 a.m. It was so relaxing....we took our luggage to check in at SouthWest at 11:00 am and received our boarding passes (A boarding--yea).

We took our lunch back to our room and watched the crowds from our balcony. We checked out around 2pm and went through security in the matter of minutes... We told some of our "plane mates" that we had the day room and they were so jealous!! Now they know to do that next time!!

Good Luck!! It's totally worth doing!!!

Sounds like a plan! From your response, it sounds like it's close enough to do the SW early check in (for those coveted A's) and head back to the Hyatt, which was my concern re:the time. I hadn't thought about lunch, but "take out" to take back is a great idea. Thanks!

yep, the Hyatt is located right by the Security entrance to the trams... we just had to take the elevator down to the SW check-in desk. It's all in the same area and signs all over the place.. plus when you take the elevator, the buttons are marked "hotel" too!!

Southwest boards according to letter. The earlier you check-in the "lower" your letter is! It definitely rewards people who check-in early since SWA doesn't do seat numbers so you can sit where ever you want!

I thought it was numbers, something like 1-30, 31-60, etc. Must have changed since the last time we flew on them.

Our flight left MCO around 3:00pm and we booked a day room at the Hyatt, just to have a place to relax. We were one of the last ones off the ship, but we were still there by 10:00am. We went to the pool, went down to the food court in the airport, got lunch and took it back to the room. Then went to the pool for a little while longer. It was great to have a bed to stretch out on, our own bathroom, TV to watch, etc. I don't remember the exact price, but I think it was around $60............... and worth every penny!! A LOT better than spending 5 hours in the airport!! We would definitely do it again.

The Hyatt has day rates? DH is going to kill me! We spent 3 hours at Downtown Disney in the rain and another 3 hours at the airport because I didn't want to spend $189 for the overnight rate. We had a 5:55 p.m. flight out. Guess I should have investigated it a little more. :o

yep, their day rooms are a hidden gem I found out about on this board!! and it IS worth every penny. Like I said above, I told some people in line at the airport (they had also been there since 9:30 a.m.) now they know for next time!!

If a desk rep says they don't have any, ask to speak with someone else. They have them!! They may not be ready real early as they do have to clean them and get them back in shape for the next guest... but they will get it for you.
