ANNUAL READING GOAL CHALLENGE for 2015!

I'm back in again! I completed my challenge of 45 books for 2014, so I'm going to be REALLY wild and crazy and make my 2015 challenge...46. LOL!!

I'm looking forward to finishing the 4th and 5th Game of Thrones novels (I've started A Feast For Crows already...A Dance with Dragons is next).
Then I'm finally reading Mr. Mercedes and Revival by Stephen King. They got pushed to the side when I became obsessed with the GoT series.

I'd also like to catch up with my Stephanie Plum, I still need to read 20 and 21.

Looking forward to this again :goodvibes:goodvibes

Here's the official word from Diana Gabaldon on the series:

WRITTEN IN MY OWN HEART’S BLOOD, aka “MOBY,” the eighth major novel in the OUTLANDER series, was released in the U.S.A. and Canada on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Will there be a ninth major Outlander novel? Yes…

There’s one more. I’ve never been willing to commit to more than one at a time, because I just don’t know — I don’t plan the books out ahead of time. So I have no idea how much ground we’ll cover in each book. But there is certainly one more book, because I wasn’t finished telling the story at the end of number 8.

I would like to join, my husband is always picking on me for being able to read books so quickly. :crazy2: My goal will be 50, I took a look at my kindle and I definitely read more books than I thought I did in 2014. I can't wait to start this.

I'd like to rejoin for this year! I skipped last year, but I did join in 2013.

My goal will be 8 books. I'm in college working towards a degree, so I don't really know how much time I'll have for 'fun' reading.

I read Gone Girl this year, so I'd like to read Gillian Flynn's other books in 2015.

At the moment, I'm reading 'Chicken Soup for the Soul: What I learned from the Dog' by Jack Canfield. My DH and I lost our first (and favorite!) dog to Congestive Heart Failure just 2 weeks ago. This book is helping me to cope with that loss.

Michelle

Please count me in for 2015. My goal is 100 books. I am most looking forward to the Outlander series and getting caught up on my many piles of books floating all over the house.

Michelle I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it can be. I am glad to hear that the book is helping you cope.

Updated up to here!

Welcome all! :grouphug:

Oooh you really know how to walk on the wild side! LOL!

So sorry for your loss. :(

I loved Flynn's other 2 books... not as much as Gone Girl though!

Gosh, I'm always SO ENVIOUS of those of you that can read so many books in a year! How I wish I could do 100!

I'll join in! Last year I hit 162 I believe. This year I'm around 120.

For 2015 I'll say 100. Not sure what I'm excited to read yet since I haven't checked release dates yet, lol.

I am going to participant again this year. Though I am only going to set my goal to 50 books and increase it as the year goes. Not going to try a goal of 100 books next year only because I tried it this year and it didn't work out at all.

I'll join. I finally got back into reading for pleasure this fall after a LONG hiatus while in college, grad school and my first few years of my career. Looking at Goodreads, I'm pleasantly surprised that since October, I've read 10 books. I think I'll set a goal of 30. I'm not sure which specific books I'm looking forward to reading the most (my "to read" list on goodreads is LONG!); I'm just looking forward to reading more!

Thanks for setting this up again this year! I like being held accountable for my reading! I read 50 books this year but will be lowering my number to 30 this year. (We can revise if we hit our goal, right?!)
I'm looking forward to re-reading the Harry Potter series. I haven't touched those books since they were released. I will also be reading more Jill Shalvis, Rainbow Rowell, and Liane Moriarty. I'd also like to revisit the Alex Cross series by James Patterson.

I am going to say 64 this year. I am not sure what I will read first. I download a lot of free kindle books--love mysteries and "beach reads"--so not really anything that is on the best seller lists.

I think I want to try to read 50 books, and hopefully add more during the year. I don't know of any books I'm looking forward to. Is there a website with a list of upcoming books.

Bookpage.com has lists of new books coming out and reviews. Also has a list of the 'best' books from the previous year.
I think Goodreads also does a list of the best from the previous year also.
Found a link on Facebook of Stephen King's favorite books of all time so thought I might check a few of those out.

Updated up through here.

Welcome everyone!! :grouphug:

Challenge officially starts TOMORROW! Have your book ready? :)

I love this! I was never much of a reader until I got a tablet and now with the Nook and Kindle apps, I enjoy it much more!

I am going to try for 25 books this year.

I enjoy simple mystery books by Janet Evanovich, Sue Grafton, and Sara Paretsky.

I'm in again. My goal for 2015 will be 90 books. I already have 45 books listed in my To Read section on Goodreads so I am looking forward to getting through those.
