Annual Passes at "Will Call" and Magic Bands Question

Tried to find the answer to this specific question but couldn't ....

My family of four has a trip coming up in August. Because we plan to return next July as well, we will be getting Annual Passes. I already bought two of them to be picked up at "Will Call" and, after three hours over a three day period with a "Level 3" tech support person, was able to get these Annual Passes "linked" to my MDE account.

Question is this - are we able to get Magic Bands shipped to us BEFORE we activate the Annual Passes ? If so, how ? There was no option under MDE that I could find to "ship Magic Bands" or anything like that. My understanding is you can' t just show up at Will Call and get Magic Bands at the time you pick up your annual pass.

We certainly would like to have Magic Bands with us for this trip if possible, as we plan to get the Memory Maker photo package and it seems like it would be easier if they could just scan the bands and get it done.

You should get Magic Bands for your annual passes (and separate ones if you're staying at a Disney resort).

Unlike MYW tickets on Magic Bands, annual passes require a trip to a ticketing window or guest relations to activate the pass before entering the park. They'll also print you an annual pass card that you can use for discounts.

You won't be able to actually receive the MagicBands before your trip as you technically don't have an Annual Pass until you exchange your voucher for the actual pass. What you can do is get issued with a MagicBand at Guest Services when you collect your AP, however unfortunately you will have to have a grey band as those are the only generic ones they have.

Similar question. We will have resort magic bands, but arrive a few days early and are staying off property for a few days before checking into SSR.

Can we have out annual passes linked to the resort bands we receive in the mail; before we actually check into the resort?

Or is it easer to use the hard ticket annual pass with the RFID chip and link the pass to the bands when we check in?

You should* be able to use the bands before you actually check in, to enter the park and for FP+ but, obviously, you wouldn't be able to use them for charging or anything until you are staying onsite.

*I say 'should' because, technically, they should be activated so people can use them for DME on arrival, however sometimes there can be glitches and, if there were, you wouldn't be able to get the glitch resolved until you check in.

However, as AP holders do you not already have AP MagicBands? Or have you not collected your APs yet?

Thanks. As long as we can get something while down there, I'm fine with that. I just think it would be handy to have them, especially now that they are starting to sync ride photos with accounts via magic bands.
