DD wants to know if anyone knows when the Balloon Man comes...we keep hearing about him, but have yet to see him.

We've seen Phineas the balloon man on weekdays before 6pm. Oh, and it has to be a sunny day in the city too.

Yesterday it was snowing in our town and DD caught a coelacanth! She's super excited -- usually her brother is the video game wiz but so far she's the only one who's been able to catch a stringfish and a coelacanth.

Toni, I hope my son behaved himself while he was visiting your town. He was playing my character in order to buy turnips from Joan and then decided to go "outside the gate."

When playing with your families, do others find themselves making some rules? We now have a family rule regarding fruit picking -- we've planted 8 coconut trees so far, so each person gets to pick from 2 trees max. We're currently on a fruit picking embargo until we figure out how many of each tree we have. We also have a rule regarding gyroids -- no selling them to Tom Nook unless everyone in the family already has that particular gyroid. And if one of us gets a gift from one of our villagers and it is a piece from a series someone else is collecting, we are honor bound to mail it to the person collecting the series. So far it's working really well, DD has over half of the kiddie room, DS has most of the robo pieces, and I've got the majority of the green series.

DD was really bummed about the Flea Market -- she had checked out all the villagers' houses Saturday night and she saw all the remaining pieces of the kiddie series, but by Sunday morning all the pieces she wanted were gone or not for sale.

We have a rule that all bugs, fish, and fossils must first be donated before selling them to Nook. We also send along any items someone is collecting, as well as not buying them if they are in the store.

my update: it was a great day for me. i pretty much sold the things i wanted to get rid of.. then i bought one thing for my son and one thing for my daughter-- my gift to them for their house..they don't know it yet cause i am sending it through mail. i hope they will have this event once a month.

mathilda was sick all day today.. she keeps saying "medicine." my bf said to go to the store and buy medicine for her. i didn't know that they sell medicine. i didn't know that the bag that was on the counter has medicine in it. so i bought it and gave it to her. she took it and said not to worry that she will feel better. i kept coming over to see her to make sure she is okay. (sorry... got a little attach to my animals here- as if they are part of my family.) she said not to worry and that she will be okay. i couldn't stand seeing her like that. i'm glad she is feeling a little better.

we've seen him a few times. he comes sporadic i think. one day he is there in the morn.. then sometimes he is only there after 6pm. i have recieved free balloons and pinwheel and the bubble wand. you get a choice. i am not sure if he is there everyday.. but then again, i don't visit the city everyday either.

Our only rule is; first come, first served. Whoever gets to play first for the day is usually the one who takes all the fruit and dig spots. But also there's no playing allowed before school/work.

Hey guys! Haven't posted in a while, but we've still been playing. Our town is now in March - we did the one-day-at-a-time advance thing in order to get more grass, and decided to leave it here so we could catch some different bugs and fish. I shook every darn tree in town looking for a spider yesterday with no luck.

Oh - in February is Festivale. THAT was LOTS of fun! I have a bunch of extra Pave furniture to trade - we're looking for stuff from the space series (lunar wall and floor) and the lovely series. That's all I can think of right now, there may be more.

I have totally given up on getting a gold or silver axe. That fountain lady is NUTS! There are 4 of us playing, and we've all tried ... NONE of us has been successful yet.

We haven't seen a UFO yet in our town. I think you shoot it down with a slingshot, correct? I have the gold slingshot so maybe that will help.

I don't know how much time I'll have to play this week. I'll be spending most of my free time getting ready for our WDW trip on Saturday. But I'll check in as often as I can.

DD told me that you throw your axe in the fountain for a "chance" to get a golden one. I don't have the fountain yet (as you know), so I haven't tried it. I don't know what happens if you don't get a golden one back... I wonder if you loose your axe? I have several though, so I'll sure give it a try as soon as I get my fountain in.

I am sick of Serena the crazy fountain lady I can't figure her out either. I even found a lucky clover the other day, that I am wearing in my h air, STILL NO LUCK!

Bury them where the "flat" land starts. (Basically 3 squares up from the ocean)


I did this and have them all burried along the beach. I water mine too not sure if this helps but i do each step of the growth process... Good

My ds read on the other AC message board, to dig 9 holes up from the water (at the beach) and plant the coconut in that 9th hole. It has worked well for us. We have several coconut trees. I noticed tho, that I can't go crazy trying to plant too many, or they will just die.

Hey everyone! We had a good fleamarket day! I got my fireplace!!! There wasn't much we wanted and we didn't really sell. I wanted to see how it went first. Tom Nook told me this morning the store would be closed tomorrow for a remodel. yeah!!!

As for house rules:

Stay on the dirt and don't run fast unless absolutely necessary. (trying to save our snow/grass.)
If you get something someone else is collecting, you must send it to them. (that's really helping my son with his mario room because I'm good at shooting down presents.)
Right now we are planting all our non local fruit, but we try to share it. (Keyword try)
Recycle and lost and found are first come first served.
We help each other with villagers requests.

I think that's all. I'm find myself being kind of strict with my town.

Have a great trip to WDW Duchie!! I'm right behind you! We leave Feb. 22 for our trip! Hope you have great weather, and it looks like the crowd level is pretty low right now! Yay! No long waits! You will have to fill us in on your trip when you get back! When DD and I go, DH is staying home, so I am hoping he will play ACCF for me while I'm gone. At least enough to pull the weeds and water my flowers!

Nope, not a balloon, but some sort of spaceship looking thing! It came and went so quick, I can't give you details

oh my goodness... if i remember correctly.. someone else got sick before and she/he keeps saying the word medicine.. and i just ignored her/him. i didn't know what to do. i didn't think nothing of it. now i feel bad for that animal. now i felt that i just neglected the animal. i guess the more i have played the more i got attached to these cute darling animals. they are funny.. and considerate, very thoughtful.. and sometimes tempermental and moody. but you just gotta love them! they'll like your family!

It was during the day, and as I recall, I was on the left side of my town, as I am looking at my tv screen. My ds was like "Mom, hurry get your sling shot" and by the time I fumbled around trying to get the right tool out, it was long gone and never to been sen again
