An Unforgettable Finish- Oct 2011 TR **Happily Ever After (Completed 5/3)

Sorry the boys didn't take a good nap that day! :sad2:

And as for that toy snatching little girl! :headache: At least her Dad made her give the toys back & apologize. Some parents wouldn't have even done that.

But, it does sound like the Baby Care Center allowed y'all to regroup & get back on a good track.

And a big Hooray for Stroller Hero!!! :cheer2:

Go MacGuyver! Of course it needed a straw.. I can only imagine where your mind was when you saw that one. Glad it worked out!

What a rough afternoon! I'm sure these are the little moments that make you look forward to that kid free visit? ;) Two little guys so close in age must be a handful at times, especially when they won't give in for a much needed nap. Hope things improve from here on!

Go Jeremy fixing the wheel with a straw! Gotta love boys and their craftiness.

Okay, that girl doing that was just unnecessary. I felt so bad for Carter when I read that. Poor thing! :sad2:

Hooray for the Baby Care Center!

And Hooray for Jeremy fixing the stroller! With a straw? That's awesome.:thumbsup2

Yuck... I'm sorry the afternoon didn't quite go as planned. It's really a shame Carter wouldn't nap. We've all been there. :rolleyes1

I'm glad you got some relief in the Baby Care Center... even if you did have to deal with a toy stealing little girl. Poor Carter.:sad2:

Good work Jeremy! :thumbsup2 Fixing a stroller with a straw is pretty impressive.

Ugh, I'm sorry Carter wouldn't nap, and that he woke Landon up, that must be so frustrating! The Baby Care Centers sound like a great place to rest in situations like that, I hope I remember they exist when I have a kid, I'll probably just have a meltdown or something! :rotfl:

Wow, I can't believe Jeremy fixed the stroller with a straw! :thumbsup2

Hmmm, a straw for the stroller? Some of the stuff people use to fix problems blows my mind. But the most important thing is that the stroller was fixed. Once less issue to worry about at Disney!:thumbsup2

I think the trouble is that they lulled me into a false sense of security with all those really good naps all the other days. I fully expected nice long naps.

I was actually a bit surprised the dad did get involved. I know a lot of times in that situation, parents don't say anything, which is always annoying. I know kids aren't perfect, but it seems like their parents should at least try to teach them how to act.

The Baby Care Center was the perfect place for us just then. It's very restful there.

Hooray! I was really happy Jeremy fixed the stroller.

I still don't know how Jeremy ever thought of trying a straw to fix the stroller. I would never have thought of that and it's hard to believe it worked. We should have gotten a picture of it.

Absolutely! World Showcase is one of the things I'm most looking forward to doing without the boys. It'll be so great to walk through all the countries and take as long as we like and not worry about who's sleeping and who isn't.

Oh man, sorry yall didn't have the greatest afternoon. :( Hoping your evening was better!

All part of touring with toddlers, I guess. There's always those times when they just won't nap. At least once they were both up, we could forgot about napping and just try to have some fun.

Jeremy always seems to come up with the most ingenious solutions. I don't know how he does it. I wouldn't have thought of a straw.

I felt really sorry for him, too. That girl was so mean to him! He understood, too, which made it even worse.

Hooray for the Baby Care Center!

I love the Baby Care Center! Should have thought of that right away.

It was really awesome that he fixed the stroller! I never thought a straw would actually work, but it was really good to not have to worry about it any more.

It was a pretty bad afternoon. If Carter would have just gone to sleep, the whole day would have gone much better. It would be nice if they'd just do it the same each day. If they won't nap, that's fine and if they will, even better, but I just wish I could know what to plan for.

The Baby Care Center at Epcot is pretty nice. Not as good as Animal Kingdom's but it was just right that afternoon. It was too bad that girl took Carter's toys, though.

I didn't think there was any chance Jeremy could actually fix the stroller with a straw, but he did it. It was great to have the stroller working right again.

It was the worst! Bad enough that he wouldn't nap, but then to wake up Landon, too, was really frustrating. Baby Care Centers are genius ideas. The odd thing is that you would imagine they would be full of tired parents, but they're usually fairly empty. They're the best thing, when you have little kids at Disney World.

I can't believe it either, but I was really happy he did!

I know, a straw! Never would have thought of that, but it was so nice to not have to stop every little bit and fiddle with the wheel again. Disney is the worst place to have a broken stroller.

Ok, I need to pick your brain a bit, if you don't mind!

Our next trip is Dec. 8th - 15th (as of this moment). Well, last night, Ed informed me that he really wants to run the Tower of Terror 10 mile race. It is Saturday, Sept. 29th. So, we're thinking of just moving our trip up so that he can run the race. The race isn't until 10pm on the 29th, so we'd have time to drive in, get the packet, etc. We'd be there Sat., Sept. 29th - Sat., Oct. 6th. Isn't this basically the same time y'all were there for this trip? I'm all good with moving up the trip except I have 2 major worries:

1. The weather - did y'all have a lot of rain to contend with?

2. Did the race & the start of F&W make for really large crowds? I was looking at one site that ranks the best weeks to go, etc. & it said that the crowds should be very low this week. But, wanted to know what you thought of the crowds.

Thanks for you help! :goodvibes

Doesn't the Tower of Terror race sound like fun? I keep trying to figure out if there's any way Jeremy and I could do that. I think we could handle the racing part, but I'm not sure what we'd do with the boys. Anyway, I thought it was a great time to go.

1. It rained 2/9 days that we were in the parks. One of the rainy days wasn't too bad and the other was completely miserable. That time of year, bad rain is always possible, but sometimes you can be lucky with the weather.

2. I think Columbus Day influences the crowds that week more than the race or the Food and Wine Festival. Toward the last weekend, crowds picked up some. It happened for us that the last day of our trip and the one predicted to be horribly crowded was also the miserably rainy day, which took care of the crowds.

Overall, I'd definitely go that week again. In fact, I just might go that week again!

I only have one thing to say,,,,
Wow, those kids are cute!

Reading your last chapter makes me even more excited about finally getting to Disney with our Grandson,,,,thank you!

Sounds like the boys were having fun at Innoventions. I really need to do that this year with Reid. We didn't really do anything there on our last 2 trips.

Love the pics with Minnie & Goofy! Disney Visa Character Spot....yet another thing we need to do. :sad2: We were going to do it in May but I wasn't exactly sure where it is & then we never got around to finding it.

The race does sound cool! Ed wants me to start training & to run it with him. But, I was like, "Hello! You want our 4 year old to wait at the finish line by himself?" :lmao: So, he will be running by himself. I'm worried about the race being so late. It'll be our 1st day of the vacation & I do want to see him finish. I figure I'll buy Reid & myself tickets to be at the finish line. Although, Reid will be fast asleep in his stroller.

I'm so darn worried about the rain. Sounds like y'all had pretty good weather, except for that 1 day. I told Ed that if we go & it pours everyday, we are still staying in the parks. I guess I just need to make sure to bring ponchos & a stroller cover (I usually don't bring these things).

I'm glad to hear you would go again that week. That makes me feel somewhat better about the crowds. I looked at the crowd calendars for that week last year (on easywdw) and it seems like most days they had the crowd level at a 4. Does that sound true to what you experienced? I can handle 4's! :lmao:

Y'all should definitely go that week again! Y'all could race with my DH & I could sit with all of the sleeping stroller boys! :goodvibes

What an adorable picture!

Glad the boys had fun on the fire truck!

That picture is fantastic! Definitely worth the wait and the many readings of Time to Paint, Biscuit.

That was a cute picture from the meet and great. Camera center is slow especially when people use to come in with over 100 pics and it was often

Well, I did it! I got Ed registered for the Tower of Terror race on 9/28 & got our package booked. So, we will be there 9/28 - 10/6. I don't think I've ever seen my husband so excited about a Disney trip! :lmao: If that's all it takes to get him excited to go to Disney, he can do every stinkin' race there is. :rotfl2:

Time to Paint, Biscuit! Hahaha what a precious name for a book.

THAT PICTURE IS ADORABLE. So cute! I love how Minnie is peeking around Landon's head!

I don't know the difference between the Innoventions either, in fact, I've never been in either one of them! :rotfl: It's so cute that Carter and Landon like the characters so much! I love the picture you got of them with Minnie and Goofy! :cool1:
