AH NUTZ!! That's a bit too far to get from BG for a day. Need to focus on getting Andrew settled into school and visiting my family I haven't seen for 2 years.
Want to come up to Kentucky?![]()
We'll see. I'll be busy going through a program, but may have time off...not sure...
OK! Keep me posted. I had so wanted to do a Nashville meet- so many of my posters could make it, I think. But, with my whole family being with me (remember, a long time ago, I was coming alone to get my son set up, and we were supposed to have been on the field another year) it'd be tough to swing it. But, I"m totally open to meeting up in Bowling Green.![]()
Looks like it's about a 4-5 hour drive.......
To a So. Californian, that's a piddly little distance. Let's keep it in mind!
It IS the cool thing to do...but who did you "hard" it from?
I ran today, and am so confuzled as to why the 1st half of ALL my runs is SOOOO much harder than the last half.Just not understanding that at all!
Not to be a whiner, but I have not slept for 3 nights. I was up at 4 this morning (after having fallen asleep around 1) making lists, and now stewing about our trip (the one to Chaostan). It is DEFINITELY crunch time for Bek and getting her packed for real. Time to weigh her bags, buy her toiletries, finalize her transcript to take to the US (to enter comm. college), ect...
I wish I had access to a sedative, it's that bad. I"m a basketcase. And I'm NOT a medicine in general taker. So that says a lot!
I didn't either (know about the PTR and TRs) until I poked around some more. The last time I did a TR, I stuck it over on the camping threads (where very few people found it) because we had stayed at the Fort. If I could have a do-over, I'd have done it here AND there. Ah well.
If I may monologue for a bit: I think you'll find a variety of "reasons" people write PTRs and TRs. Some, I think just LOVE to write and have a story to tell (partly me), others just need a place to get their thoughts down and share their excitement (but, these will be a bit more brief than the first category); then you'll have those looking to find comraderie and "friendship", (also partly me), who love the interaction and banter. Lastly, there is a category of those use a thread to glean or bounce ideas off the others here. I think over time, you'll find the "kind" that fits you best. Correct me if I'm way off here, ya'll. (HI GB!)
smart donkey?![]()
There is quite an easy explanation: the endorphines take about 10-15 minutes to start kicking in. The first 10-15 minutes of a run are always the hardest. Afterwards the endorphines really help you along. There is even talk about a "runner's high".
I hope you will be sleeping better soon! When is Bek leaving? HAve you ever thought of trying valerian tea? Perhaps that's something you can get in Blankistan? Also hop tea (not beer!!
) is supposed to be very helpful as well.
For me TRs were one of the first things of my Disney internet obsession - in 1998 when I was at university in London I had high speed internet access in my dorm room and I came across the very first Disney sites by chance. Besides allears.net, then called wdwig and the RADP newsgroup, there was Brian Bennet's trip report archive. I loved reading those reports - at that time all text, no pictures!! They are all incorporated in mouseplanet now and can be found here: http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/forumdisplay.php?f=54&pp=25&sort=dateline&order=asc&daysprune=-1 There are even the reports from Mike Scopa (of the wdw today podcast).
Did you grow up on a farm?? I don't remember there being a poo smell on the ride. YOu're talking about the boat ride, right??

A Disney notebook is a MUST!!!! You can post pictures here if you want to
I hope your DH returns you safely and healthy! That's a terrible situation to be in! We feel very safe here, but are just very tired; Most call it ministry burnout. The Lord knows when it's time to call it quits - at least for a time.![]()
Looking forward to your night pictures of Pop. As you know, I like to stroll around on photography excursions every so often.
Woo Hoo! I am loving this countdown because in 100 days I'll be in AK too!![]()
I am so excited for our meet!
AK is probably my least favorite park but it really is growing on me too. It's funny how that happens.
Well, I live in a small town surrounded by corn fields and my grandparents live on a farm, so I've always been out there a lot too. I don't think there's always a poo smell on the ride, but there was one for that particular trip. That's why we thought it was fertilizer or something.
First of all, DH is not currently deployed. That was several years ago & he did return safely & mostly healthy, praise the Lord! I greatly admire people who do mission work because I know it is not in my character to do so. Ten years is a long time even for someone who has the heart for it. Kudos to you and your family for being so dedicated!
Secondly, I usually make a travel notebook of sorts, and I've even used the occasional spreadsheet! But I love how yours is all Disneyed-up! I usually only make the kids activity books cute, so from now on I shall decorate mine as well. Though I am not currently planning an ACTUAL trip (as I mentioned on Glenn's PTR) I thought maybe I could start an idea notebook for when the time comes. Everyone on here has such good ideas, it would be a waste not to borrow them.
Lastly, I would probably fall into all of the categories as far as PTR's and TR's go. I used to blog a lot, and loved to post about a bazillion photos in a slideshow and write a few paragraphs. However, no one ever left comments & I wasn't sure anyone was even reading anymore, so even though I really loved it, I quit. I might start again if at least the grandparents would read it (that's who it was started for!)!![]()
