An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

WELCOME HOME!!! I almost called you last night to see if you were home. I knew you must be getting close.

I'm not sure I like the sound of that last sentence, though.

Allll will be revealed in good time. I may wait until your backto start my TR, not sure. I want some times to think about how I'm going to approach this and lay it all out.
I better get off of here for now, I need to hit the ground running....I need to take Mackie to get a fitting for her ballet costume, her recital is tonight! Nothing like the last minute to get things done. I guess the costume company messed up on the costume by sending a costume that wouldn't even come up over her hips! No where close to the measurements sent in. :sad2: And then they wouldn't send a new comstume! They sent a small piece of fabric for us to fix ourselves. :headache: For anyone out there who knows anything about sewing your shaking your head right about now knowing that a ballet costume would be easier from scratch than to take apart and fix with an extra piece of fabric.
Mackie's teacher has been wonderful to find someone and take care of it for us while gone, I just hope she get's a return on her money for this comstume to off set the cost of this woman fixing it!! I wonder if I should be the one to pay her?? It is my daughter's costume after all...I'll ask hubby about it. TTFN!

And that's a totally acceptable thing to do as well. You only have so many hours in a day, afterall. ;)

It's in my sig, but disguised as a really cool picture of Capt. Hook. I think a lot of folks don't realize it IS a link (all of them) to a thread.
well all be darn you are right, they do all link to something.

You really should read Mrs. The King's TR's on this, if nothing else read it since she's so dang funny. She does put a funny spin on all things concerning the pool....and well, everything else.

Morning All! Evening for Liesa. :) Did you get any sleep last night lady?

She's changed her name to Cinderella's Twin, and still doesn't post regularly. :confused3 Nevertheless, the stuff that she does write is incredibly funny!

I did, thanks for asking! Funny how stress affects us so differently. DH had stomach problems and stayed home from work today. He's almost always sick the first couple of days of vacation anywhere; I just tend not to sleep.

A most excellent piece of prose my friend. Why couldn't we have studied THAT in school instead of midnight drearies and weak and wearies? Quoth the Biscuit "Well forever more!". (Which is Texan for Shazam...in case you wondered.)

Yeah, what IS with studying MacBeth anyway? I don't think I understood one stupid thing in that work. :confused3:confused3:confused3

Yikes! We have to wait until Sept. to hear about your trip??? :scared1::scared1::scared1: Or do you mean back from Kyrgyzstan?? That'll be June 23rd or so??

I'd certainly ask for money back for something that you should have been able to at least exchange!!

Pretty nifty, eh??

The one with the hairy beast is to my blog, and the one with the Liberty Belle is to Pt. 1 of this PTR. All kinds of fun stuff!

Cute poem! You are very clever with your rhyming! :thumbsup2

I have to say...if you are this excited for 100 days, I can't wait to see how excited you are for the 1 month...1 week...and 1 day!

The "leak factor" is certainly going to go up several notches. :rotfl2:

Hello, my friend!

First, I apologize for being MIA. I try to check in when I can, but I really don't have the time to read and stay caught up on stuff right now. I hope to in the near future because I miss everyone!

But, I had to stop by and say thank for for the package that arrived today! :cool1: The mail man knocked on my door and said, "Were you expecting a package from Blank-A-Stan?" and I had to think for a minute. Now I feel like I'm going to be on a watch list by the FBI or something. :rolleyes1

It was so sweet of you to send me a prize! :goodvibes I love it! And to prove it, I immediately put the hat on and wore it while I made dinner. It's very comfy. :thumbsup2

Sorry for the poor quality picture, but I took it with my cell phone and the flash is so crazy bright!! I'm always blinded for an hour after I use it.

Photo0191-1.jpg

Yay! Mine arrived too. And I'm glad that Carissa posted a picture so now I don't have to. Hee hee hee!

Thank you Liesa for the very cool prize!

The mailperson tried to deliver it yesterday, but no one was home to sign for it so I had to go to the post office this morning to pick it up. The postal worker did a double-take when he looked at the envelope. I'll probably have to appear before a local version of the McCarthy hearings soon.

I looked online to try to figure out what it's called. Is it a takiya or a kepesh? Am I close?

But I should have told you.... that's an old man's hat. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sorry, can't resist this joke from junior high -- "How far did you have to chase him?" :lmao:

Are you going to spend days without sleep being on here every second?! Because that's how I feel when it gets closer to trip time. :rotfl2:

I wish I had time to do that, but I have a terrible feeling that my time is very quickly going to disappear for DISing as I get closer. Sleep will be less, but so will my free time.

:sad1:

But yes, this is what I'd rather be doing.

You are very welcome! I have JenBear's waiting to give her for the Meet too. It IS a takiya. Very good research. If you pronounce the k in the back of your throat you'll nail it.

My househelper mailed them, I hope she chose pretty stamps for you.

Good one. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

A Little of this, a little of that...

First off... I wanted to share with you all, that today was a monumental day in the life of my trip. Many moons ago when I first started planning my trip, I thought that it would be a mostly budget sort of deal with mostly CS meals, no souvies, few frills. The thought of eating at even 1 signature restaurant was out of the question. Then, I had a brainstorm. I was making a quilt as part of the course I was teaching here, and thought to myself, hey! why not just sell it? The fabric was pretty much given to me as gifts, and I had only to put in the time to finish it (about 150 hours?). After I committed myself to seeing the project through, along came a buyer. (You know who you are. :goodvibes) And because I hand-quilted it, I was able to ask the going price- $350. My trip suddenly went from being low-budget, to being one of affording myself a few luxuries. So much that if I want to order and appie at one of the 3 Siggie dinners I have planned, I can. I can "up" my budget on my World Showcase shopping spree; I added my tour; and instead of just the Margharita at the Cave, I can get the crab tostadas too. ;)

Also, I have a bit of news that I'd really appreciate you guys lifting up for me. We sent our passports to the big city to get Kyrgyz visas last week in order to go to our conference there. We had planned on leaving our city on June 7th in order to get to "The Big City" on time for Andrew's graduation on the 10th. I had already made a commitment to help the team set up for the ceremony on the 9th.

We just got word today, that the Kyrgyz embassy won't be getting our group's passports back to the coordinator until June 7th at 3:00- 10 hours AFTER we had planned on leaving on our 2 day drive. We can't drive without documents. If the coordinator gets them at 3:00 in the afternoon and DHLs them to us on the AM of the 8th, we're still not going to get them until the 9th. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Graduation starts at 5:00 on the 10th- it is 2 days drive there. Could you pray that we get our visas AND passports before this, so we don't have to worry and stress about missing our firstborn's highschool graduation??

Hope you're having a wonderful day!

 Gah! I hope you get those documents in time! Is there anyway you can ask them to rush them? It might cost a little more... but it'll be worth it to make it to Andrew's graduation.

Soooooo.... I have some news that isn't quite set in stone so it's still 50/50 but I'm too excited to keep it a secret. After the D.C. meet, Bubba and I were thinking we might as well head down to Disney and make a trip out of it. This means we'll be there the same time you are!!!

....BUT.....like I said... it's still not for sure yet. Stay tuned....

ME too!! This is rush service. They "insisted" on that- the story is very long and full of typical devloping world arm twisting and such. Our area leader actually had to go into the office, drink tea with the officer and "negotiate" the price for our group. Revolution + amoral people = Whatever price you and they agree on at the time. Hence, Chaostan.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATT???!!!! :woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:

Oh. MY. GOSH!!!!! That would be sooooooooooooooooooooo fun!!!! I'll try to contain myself, until it's for real. :wizard:

Can you imagine how much fun it would be double teaming Glennbo on TSM? :rotfl2:

Praying for speedy visas and passports.

Okay, I am now green with envy.

thanks, Glenn- EVERY single time we've EVER done a visa renewal it turns into stress city. Guess it's one of those things the BIG Guy used to grow us.

I'm not. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Prayers that you get your visas and passports in time :)

Thanks so, so much- we have faith- yet, rely on prayers.

I never said you couldn't come! Just, you know, schedule a random visit to Orlando for a couple days! The boss won't mind :rolleyes1

There ya go!

Yeah, right! :rotfl2:

Never hurts to ask... Present it this way:

Judy, I was thinking of just a couple's trip- just you and I, honey cakes.
I know we were just there 2 months ago, but how 'bout the 2 of us- just you and me, my ever-loving schmoochy pie, at the POLY. Nevermind that my entire 2 months salary will have to pay for it, but don't you think meeting JenBear and SteppeSister is worth it?? I'll even take you to Vic and Al's place, too. My youthful, lithe bride, won't you consider this romanic adventure?? Pleeeeeeeeeeease??

Love your poem... it made me smile! :goodvibes

Kathy

Aw, thanks, Kathy! I had a lot of fun. But then realized.... there will be no dancing dolls for me this trip... :sad1: They done went and closed it.

I didn't think it'd work, until you threw in the word "lithe". :rotfl2:
