Aren't these originally songs that were written by Idol people for the finalists to sing. They don't have a choice but to do the songs that they are given?

Every idol that was eliminated is thanking their lucky stars that they didn't get stuck singing that pile of junk. I cannot believe that they cannot come up with something better than that for Kat's first single.
