James WON the entire competition IMHO last night. I am still amazed!

My thoughts about last night.

First, I couldn't get past Jacob's Pee Wee Herman look. His voice is OK but there's no way he could win.

Casey, I think that a Vegas show is much better for him. I can't imagine hearing anything that's he done so far on the radio.

Haley, although a hometown girl, I don't see her making it on the radio either.

Lauren and Scotty, I'm not a fan of country but I can see them making it.

I really liked Scotty last week when sang the Coldplay song with Casey and James. It took him out of the country and I thought that he sounded pretty good.

Lauren can pretty much sing anything.

James has always been my favorite. I think he nailed it again last night. I can't wait to see him and Steven together on stage if he makes it to the end.

Never was a fan, still not one but I think no one can beat him now....

Now THAT is a feat.. to turn me from utter disdain to totally amazed.

I think it'll be him and Scotty at the end and it'll be another David A vs David Cook competition. Let's see if he can garner up enough cougar love to beat out the teeny boppers...

Jacob or Casey needs to go tonight. They could both go and that would be great! After that Haley. Jacob seems to have lost that luster he had in the beginning and his voice has suffered because of it. Haley actually improved with time for me but she isn't good enough to win.

I can't imagine anyone beating James after last night. He has had all my votes from the start but I always pick the rocker it seems.

If James had stuck with making his complete performance a cappella, I would've been impressed. I just thought it got a little hokey when he brought the band in.

That said, in this year of no surprises or breakout performances, I do agree that it was the first time this year that I felt like someone changed something up and did something different.

I know I'm simply quoting what Michael Slezak and his Idoloonie Nation has been saying on another website (and if you're not watching Slezak's webshow "Idoloonies" you should be), but there's been a lack of any reconfiguration of songs this year. Everything seems too reminiscent of the original. Where's the redo of "Heartless" a la Kris Allen or "Billie Jean" by David Cook? Nonexistent this year.

Despite okay to above average talent this season and no real disasters in the Top 13, there's been nothing to get excited about this year at all and I very much doubt that will change in the next four weeks.

I finally got a hold of my sister in Chattanooga.

They haven't had phone service or electricity for over 24 hours. My niece finally got her on her cell from Murfreesboro and told her to find a cell and call me!

She said her town had 7 tornados, one knocked down a line of trees right across the street from her, THEN set on fire!

She got a hold of the Power board and they told her there were 81,000 people ahead of her. She asked "are THEIR trees on fire, TOO??" My sister is a MESS.

Agreed another BAD year. I was happy about James last night but I don't think I will continually like his stuff, it was the only performance I liked of his.

I have to check out Idoloonies!!

My niece lives less than a mile from the campus. She had some flooding but nothing bad.
