"Having said that, I just LOVE the way he carries himself in all the absurdity attendant to being the American Idol. It's a perfect blend of humble and confident, grown-up and silly; and he is so articulate. I watched the Leno interview with a big smile on my face

Also, he can go ahead and date all the trampy fame*****s he wants as long as he doesn't end up as a staple on TMZ.

And the final thing I wanted to say about Cook: it reminded me of when I was in my mid-twenties and all kinds of bizarre but wonderful things were happening in my life, and I absolutely did not know how to handle it - I insisted on trying to find meaning and relevance in everything that happened, and when I couldn't, I ran away as fast as I could. I love Cook's attitude that he's walked through the looking glass and the only sane thing to do is play along and have fun, even if it means singing about magic rainbows and pretending you like stupid movies..."


Savor the moment DC and enjoy the ride.

(although somehow I think he probably does like the stupid movies!)

Television Without Pity

They recap a lot of TV shows and have forums. Most of it is really snarky which is why I like it. I started reading there during the Sopranos run. I've also read some on the House forums. It is a plethora (my word nerd for the day) of knowledge.

Did any of you see the red carpet show before the IDOL finale - when David Cook came up the red carpet - he stopped to talk to Kimberly Caldwell, thanked her for all the nice things she's said about him during the season and asked her out to dinner and gave her a flower - my jaw hit the ground.

He could do so much better than her. I didn't like her when she was IDOL and I still don't like her.

I know! I don't know what it is about her...but she's just icky to me. I like Lacey better too.

I'm sure she'll get rid of him as soon as she's done trying to use him to get more media attention. Besides, doesn't she strike you as the type that would like a jerky guy? You know the type...that subconsciously (or maybe consciously?) wants a guy that treats them like crap. David doesn't strike me as a jerky guy....so he's probably not her type...haha.

I wonder if DA's entourage were his two high school pals that were in the audience for his Idol Extra interview. He seemed so happy that they were there. One was Ashley and I can't remember the other one. (and one had her mom there) I guess if you can't trust your daughters with DA and his Idol handler, then who can you trust!
