Breaking news on the Amazon boards...beginning tomorrow, if you are an Amazon Prime member you'll be able to access a lending library directly from your Kindle. With your wireless on, go to "Shop in Kindle Store" then "See All Categories" and you'll see "Kindle Owners Lending Library." Currently there are about 5000 titles available. None from the Big 6 publishers, though.

This will be a nice feature for the people who dont' have access to a public library lending system. For the $79 per year it costs to be a Prime Member, you'll have checkout privileges and free two day shipping on Amazon purchases as well.

You will be even after 7 books are downloaded. Pretty
good deal.

Looks like you can have one book out at a time, no due date, but no more than one book in a month.

Still...between this and streaming, I'm really considering Prime now!

That's great news. I've been a prime member for years now and this will make a nice addition!
