I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

A couple of other limiting factors are - booking the “managers choice” won’t give you PC options onsite, and also some smaller airports (for example, Birmingham, AL) don’t have a PC section.
I usually never book the manager choice. I will have to update in a couple weeks to see what happens

It does say President Circle on the app. I am wondering if you book with 3rd party sites if that affects things. I just thought it was weird. I still got a car that I liked, but glad I did not pick compact car on the app. I am booking another car for a couple weeks away and so I will see what that does
Ah, that's probably it. The first time I had PC I booked through the Chase portal and paid with points. I was not on the board. When I asked the lady kept telling me that you can't double dip points. I think she thought I was earning UR instead of spending. At any rate I try to book direct with Hertz now if I want to use PC status because they clearly don't want to honor it of you book 3rd Party.

Just reading that a wildfire has destroyed the Grand Canyon Lodge and surrounding cabins in Arizona. I had recently read @CyndiLouWho 's posts regarding her trip and half remembered that she stayed in a cabin, possibly near this lodge. Absolutely not sure about that as I'm not familiar enough with the area.

At any rate it's a big loss and no longer there for future visitors. I'm always sad when something iconic disappears.
As @StephPlum mentioned, we were at Yellowstone this year. We did visit Grand Canyon a few years ago but stayed at the south rim. I am sad that we won’t be able to see the Lodge on a future trip if we made it to the North Rim.

I was booking through Capitalone Travel and I may not have put my gold rewards number. I did see that for my upcoming reservation and will keep an eye on it. I also booked a full size car for my upcoming trip. Fingers crossed
That's the issue. It's a known problem that even though Cap1 gives PC status, you can't use it if you book through their travel portal. There are some third parties that you can use PC with, Priceline pay later rates you can, but most third parties you can't because you're paying the third party and not Hertz.

I think that's part of the issue i get PC from 3 different loyalty programs I'm in so it loses value when everyone has it, just like I have Marriott Platinum and i never use it.

I visited north rim a few years back and it was so beautiful! I'm sad that it's destroyed

I have 4 flights with WN all booked before the 5/28 deadline for free bags. If I change one of those flights (price has gone down quite a bit), do I lose the free checked bags? The price change is about the same as the price of two checked bags, but if I lose them, I'll probably not change because flight is paid with points, bags would be paid with $$.

Has anyone been to the Priority Pass lounge at HNL (not the Hawaiian Plumeria lounge) From what I can tell it's a real bummer. Curious if anyone has been there can tell me if it's even worth bothering with it.

I was just there last month. I don’t recall the name but it was downstairs. That one has only a few beverage options. It’s a nice quiet place to relax and the gardens outside are nice but other than that it was terrible.

Changing the flight definitely puts you into the new rule structure.

Is one of the folks on the reservation A-List or a SW credit card holder? If yes, those statuses get you a free bag for each person on the reservation up to 8. If no, you have to pay for bags.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking. Not sure a few cokes is worth connecting my Venture X to my Priority Pass.

Huh...this is different..... I just got a notice on my new CSP acct "you've earned the bonus points, they should appear in 6-8 weeks"...is this a new thing? I don't recall ever seeing that before, usually just dropped the points into acct right at statement date..... I hope it's not really 6-8 weeks now

I recently completed the IHG bonus and got the same message, but I had the points in 3 or 4 days, I think. Hopefully same for you!

So I've booked our flight to Hawaii, our first inter-island flight, and now Hawaiian/Alaskan Air seems to have just stopped releasing flights? They are still on the 9th when AA is out to the 13th. Previously it was updating every day. I want to book our flight back on Hawaiian!

My husband just got his CSP bonus and it was like a week after statement date, so later but not 6-8 weeks.

The Priority Pass lounge HNL is up an escalator. We’ve been a handful of times, hoping each time it will improve. It’s over crowded, outdated, with awful food. If you even want to call hard boiled eggs and cheese sticks food. They do have fountain drinks, alcohol, coffee and tea. All I can suggest is you check out for yourself, but to me it’s not worth it unless you want to grab a drink. We just find a quiet spot to sit in the terminal and it’s a much better experience.

Thanks. I have the Ko Olina lounge booked and that one is just a quiet cool room no food or drinks but Id rather buy my own coffee if the other one is a mad house and below average.

That sounds much nicer. We kept going to the lounge because we felt like we should use the benefit, but every time we got in there we wanted to leave. Our last 2 trips we decided to skip it. We’ve been through HNL enough times now that we know where to find a quiet place to wait, and the free food in the lounge isn’t worth the trouble. Sounds like you made a good choice.
