Am I in the right place?

Hi! I read the rules on the trade/rent board and was a little scared to post this there as I did not want to get in trouble.

I am interested in renting points, but do not know points values etc.

Reading the sticky kind of reminded me of the "No Soup For You" episode of Seinfeld. If you order wrong you don't get soup. I thought this would be a "No Points For You!" if I posted wrong.

Anywho.... Where can I go to find out how many points I would need for a vacation in a studio at a DVC resort?

Also, can a renter get the dining plan? I think not, but wanted to double check. Not a Disney newbie by any stretch of the imagination, just completely uneducated about DVC renting

At the top of this page there is a link to DVC Point Charts...just click on it and it will allow you to see how many points you would need for the dates you listed.

A renter can get the dining plan, but the owner has to add it to the reservation for you, and it would be paid directly to Disney upon check-in.

There is a point chart above.....on the right hand top click on DVC points chart. This will give you a per night point for the resort you may be interested in. Take the amount of points you need and multiply that by, anywhere from $10 to $12 a point. The Dining Plan "DDP" can be added by the owner. Also remember this is a transaction between you and a DVC owner, Disney has nothing to do with it. Talk to some owners and get comfortable with the process.....it is a great way to get to WDW and stay at a fantastic resort for little $$.

Please be sure and educate yourself on how a DVC reservation is very different from a regular hotel reservation, and the basics of “renting points”, as it is often referred to.

The Rent/Trade board is for posting the actual reservation request. It is not a discussion forum. So you did the right thing by coming here to post your questions about renting a reservation.

There are rules associated with posting on the Rent/Trade board that help to keep the board running smoothly. One of the most common problems is that people don't read the stickies and then their thread doesn't post to the board due to problems like incorrect titles (we use special software to process the submissions to the Rent/Trade board and it cannot process what it doesn't recognize.) So make sure you read the sticky about thread titles.

It can be a bit intimidating at first but feel free to post questions on the other DVC boards if you have questions about the process. You can also send questions via a PM to one of the Rent/Trade board moderators.

Thank you all very much! I am off to read, calculate and do some research before requesting a reservation.

From a quick glance using the calculator I can stay at an Animal Kingdom (studio)DVC for the same price as POP!!

That's pretty cool.
