Oh snap! I just saw the new summer deals released and...we *may* wind up switching our trip to June instead AND adding on a few days stay at the Poly. DD10 has said she wouldn't mind going in Summer rather than Christmas. Need to run the numbers....

That would be great for you! Less time to wait plus a stay at the Poly!

Plus it is sooooo expensive over the actual holiday and I am sure there are no discounts to be found. We looked into it but I was shocked at the holiday rates With the money you save and the deals you can totally add some days on!

Nice!!! Then you'd get to stay at both resorts!!! I loved WDW at xmas time, but I missed the warm Florida swimming weather. I prefer to go when it's warmer, and it will be less crowded in June -- and it's closer!

That would be a fun split, too -- you wouldn't be moving too far!

I'm so excited we got our email questionaire from Poly Club level today...Unfortunately I didn't have much I needed them to do because I have already made all our dining reservations. The only thing I told them was DH and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary.. I am so very excited..Only a little over a month away.. We are staying BWV BW View 3 days prior to Poly and I just can't get as excited about staying there.. I am sure both will be fabulous but I love the Poly...

Was your room a GV? What a wonderful view!!! It sounds like you had a fun trip! I can't wait to see more pics. How were the crowds overall? I would love to go this time of year someday (the weather has to be better than snow and ice) but I worry about taking the kids out of school since it is right about the time for state "tests". Maybe my dh and I can take a trip without them some day!!

Yes, our view was GV. We had a great trip, but it was very cold. They had signs around some of the landscaping saying "We have been bit by Jack Frost....please excuse...blah blah blah" because a lot of plants did not make it through some of the cold temps! It was unseasonably cold though - the 4th coldest on record is what the local news weatherman was saying. The kids did manage to swim one day though - the pool was VERY warm - it was the getting out that was hard! LOL! Plus we brought shortie wetsuits for them to wear and that probably helped!

Crowds were fabulous for the first part of the trip - Sunday, the 7th through Friday, the 12th were great! Friday was a washout with the rain, so that probably kept the MK crowds down. Saturday (our last day, and the beginning of Pres. Day weekend) was a complete zoo at Epcot! If you can plan to leave by the weekend, you won't encounter too many crowds.

My husband and I took a couples only trip to the Poly back in May and had a blast. Trip report is in my siggie if you want to check it out.

So glad to hear that the pool was super-warm!!! I think there were a few complaints about the Poly pool being too cold and it had some of us worried. Glad to hear it was not a problem this week!

I am at the Poly right now!! It is just as magical as everyone said it would be. We are in tokeleu, garden view, which I requested. Saw the fireworks our first night here which was so unbelievable! The resort is super clean,cm's are so helpful. My kids love it here so much,they don't want to go to a park today I will report more later....BTW yes it has been cold! We have our warm jackets, so we have been ok.

Scroll back through this thread--there are a multitude of reports from folks who have been and returned. Most of these reports will be, for the most part, reviews of the Polynesian.

Also, if you go to the trip reports board, you could do a search for Polynesian and sort through the results for more trip reports.

If you are staying at CL in Hawaii, and you have a family member who isn't, can they come with you to your room and to the lounge if you are with them?

I ask because my Aunt and Uncle sometimes come and visit us while we are at WDW and we pay for their room, but if they come this time I wouldn't be able to put them at CL with us.

If we escort them, can they come into Hawaii with us?

I'm thinking they can come visit you but as far as taking advantage of the CL lounge I would say no. Although you are paying for the services there-they aren't...

Time is flying by so fast that I cannot believe it.

When we would first walk to our room in 2008 which was in the Tahiti longhouse, I remember seeing Space Mountain, and I immediately snapped into the vacation mode!

Thanks guys! Another good upside to this is we can stay at the GF, rent a car and drive to North Florida to visit my Aunt, then drive back to WDW and finish our trip at the Poly. And with MUCH lower rates than it would be at Christmas, this would defnitely be 'doable'.

I'll keep you guys posted. My TA is gonna LOVE me!

So glad to hear you got your request and you're having a great time! Aren't the fireworks awesome from the Poly? I totally get where your kids are coming from. DD10 likes to spend day just playing games in the arcade and swimming, then going to the park at night.

When my Aunt and Uncle came to visit us at the Poly and we were staying CL, they visited our room but we did stop in the lounge so I could show it to them. That was the extent of it.

I'm very excited as I just booked our first ever stay at the Poly. yesterday! We've always done value or deluxe so this is a great treat. We are only doing it because we got such a great deal through MV.

I've been trying to read this whole thread, but I'm not sure if I'll ever make it. I'm only on page 25! LOL!

Anyway, I've already learned so much from all of you and look forward to learning more! I'm sure I'll be piping in with questions as we get closer to our trip. I would have a ticker, but I don't know how to do it...
