 Yay! Now you can obsessively check it every day and see how much it moves.:rotfl: I like the red Poly one that you chose -- it's just so tropical!:goodvibes

Ok, laughing at myself right now. I too created my ticker from the advice given here and I just now realized that the "slider" I chose will actually move across the ticker. DUH...:rolleyes1

I cannot wait to stay at the Poly. I have read so many wonderful things on this thread.

I got a 40% off room rate pincode in my email today & was able to book out 1st trip at the Poly!!!! I'm sooo excited this code allowed us to do it! It's the 1st time I got a pin. Are these really rare like the reservaiton person made it sound like? How do you qualify for them?? Anyone know?

I have no idea! I have been to WDW so many times and never got any kind of pin/discount. I was so happy to get one this time!:cool1:

I have to say I really love this thread. It just puts a smile on my face. I find so many other threads can have rude ppl and snarky comments...plus I love reading about others' experiences at the poly since our first stay is coming up in September...it's always been my dream to stay at the Poly (and DFi's too, he just doesn't know it yet :rotfl:)

Too funny! Thanks for the laugh and enjoy your trip!

Congrats on the PIN code! We used it for our stay too. I have a 30% off PIN code too. My MIL just got a FL resident PIN code on the email that we created for her trip with us a couple of years ago. PIN codes are so random, you can never tell. I have heard all manner of supposed "triggers". I did nothing to get the 30% and my MIL did nothing to get the FL one. I did try to get the 20/30/40 one by going to look at vacations online and saving some quotes while logged in. A couple of days later, BOOM, there it was. :teeth:

I can't wait to go back to the Poly. It's been a couple of years and that's just a wee bit too long for me.

I agree, everyone here is really nice. I had a bad time a few nights ago on one of the community boards and the wise people here advised me not to go back. I'm staying "home" at the Poly thread! Congrats on your upcoming first stay! You're going to LOVE it!!!! :)

I finally have a ticker, thanks to you guys. I'm soooo excited! I just received an e-mail as we are staying CL. I love checking my e-mail to see the new posts from all of you. Thank you.:worship:

Thank you for such a great informative thread! We're staying at the Poly this December for the first time and I am so excited. We're booked for GV and I keep going back and forth whether I want to upgrade to TPV or not. We can always go to the beach to see the castle and fireworks. But then again, seeing them from our room just sounds like heaven. :cloud9: Decisions, decisions! Good ones, though. :rotfl:

Welcome!!! I will say that IMO there are 2 downsides to a room with a TPV:

1) the cost

2) once you've had one: the feeling that you'll never be happy with a different view :rotfl: We had an amazing view of the lagoon, castle, EWP, and fireworks from our room last year, and I just couldn't book a GV this year because we'd all miss the view.;) Maybe I should have just started with GV...

Congrats on your first Poly stay! :dance3:

We did lagoon view for our first stay and it was wonderful! I advise people that if the budget allows, having that view for your first stay makes the vacation so magical. :wizard: For our other Poly visits we stayed GV. At first it was hard for me but frankly the kids didn't care. They were more concerned about being close/seeing the pool. Plus, they got a kick out of being able to see the castle, EWP and fireworks from the volcano pool. :cloud9:

Glad to hear the whole ticker thing worked out for you! Now the agony of watching it sloooowwllly creep towards your arrival day at the Poly. :-)

the truth is... I am going to be thrilled with just staying at the Poly period BUT I am still struggling with which longhouse to request!!! Our MOST important request is 3rd floor with balcony. I put in a request for Fiji or Aeotera but after reading other's TR and seeing pics, I think my kids would LOVE Samoa and it seems a lot of people love Tokelau! Oh please help! Should I call back and change my request????????? :confused3

For those of you who have stayed GV, what is your favorite and why?

If your most important request is third floor balcony, I'd leave it with that. Requests are just that...requests. If you want certain buildings it can make it harder to get that request if you get it at all.

I think it is fun to look at all the options and if something is really important to you to go ahead and request it. Now I am a Type A planner and have spreadsheets for packing for our August vacation and dozens of other really crazy planning things. But, my experience at Disney has been to not try to control things that we really can't control. Did that make any sense? :goodvibes I just think if we build these things up too much and think things like "my vacation will only be perfect if I get a third floor balcony room in Tokelau" we set ourselves up for disappointment as soon as we get there. Who knows, you may not get your request but you may have some other pixie dust sprinkled on you!

Yes, I speak from experience.:rotfl2:
