I have never done online check-in. Is there an advantage to doing this? We will be arriving in Orlando super early in the morning and plan on checking in right at 7 am so we can head straight over to start enjoying the parks. We leave in 19 days!!! Our first time at the Poly...after reading all of the comments I'm afraid we are going to be spoiled for every other resort!

Im at the Poly now and did online check-in. I had a two room reservation and one was ready at 8:00 a.m. and they texted me that the other one was ready at 11:00 a.m. worked out perfectly. Got all my requests , having a great time .

All rooms are assigned 1-2 days prior to your arrival. So if they were able to meet your request, you should still have it when you arrive. Unless somebody who checks in before you throws a hissy fit about the room they were assigned, demands a 3rd floor and your room is the only one available you should be fine. :thumbsup2

You were close. They get assigned 5 days in advance. :)

Called Disney Recreation about the pool closure since I rented a cabana during the time of the rehab and was told that if there was a rehab scheduled, their system wouldn't allow the cabana rental, but she said she would put me on hold and double check.

She came back and said the only refurb scheduled for the Poly is to the longhouses. I noticed both this site and Intercot has the pool listed for refurb in Sept but no where else not even the Disney site reports that..

I guess Ill find out if they decide to b/c she said they will have to call me to let me know cabana will be canceled if so..

ADDED: apparently the rehab has been pushed to Jan!

The Disney Travel Agent site is still showing a closure 09/09/13 - 09/20/13 (this is scheduled maintenance that was originally scheduled for March that was delayed due to the GF pool). The travel agent site was last updated on 7/2/2013 and all closures are subject to change. You won't know for sure when the pool is going to be closed until they actually close it. ;)

Aloha! I have a couple questions. I have a friend traveling to the Poly in September. Has anyone heard a definite on the pool being closed (or open) for that time? I've gotten different answers depending on who I speak to. Also, they are staying in a standard room, any recommendations on which building they request, preferably one that has been updated. Thanks!

Sorry, I just saw the post above regarding the pool. So, is the consensus that it will be open for September?

Absolutely. Even if you do online check-in, you still have to interact with the CM. The only difference with online check-in is that your KTTWs and your information packet are already printed and put together for you. If after they show you where your room is located, you can ask if there is something available to meet your request.

Excellent. Thanks!

Anyone ever book concierge room but got a no balcony or no patio room? I'd really like to try concierge/club level but at same time would be disappointed if we didn't get balcony or patio as that is a must have for us.

Do you know if they could put us in another building but give us access to club lounge, still paying club level price of course?

Thanks.

Thanks Dansdad! So, based on this answer, I am declaring a moratorium on all hissy fits until after August 1st when we arrive. :rotfl:

It's possible b/c 2d floor doesn't have a balcony but no you wouldn't be put in another building. While Tonga is CL it's suites . All regular rooms wether TPV, GV, LV are all in Hawaii Longhouse. Put in a request for 1 st or 3rd floor they are normally good about trying to grant requests, no guarantee tho as always.

Good morning everyone! I've been reading through this thread in my spare time and I just have a couple of questions:

1. All of CL rooms have a couch right? (Is it a pull out?)

2. Are all CL rooms located in the Hawaii building? Is the club lounge and the desk with the club CMs located in the Hawaii building as well?

3. How close is the Hawaii building to the main building?

Thank you!!

1) Yes. Its kinda like a futon but more comfortable..
2)Yes all CL rooms that are NOT suites are in Hawaii(Suites are in Tonga)
The CMs and check in desk are on floor one, the lounge is one floor 2 with a small seating area on floor three as well.
3) its about a 2 1/2 min (if that) walk from GCH to Hawaii, its very close

We were given a free upgrade from GV CL to TPV CL. It was on the 2nd floor. We quickly learned that there is a "hidden" bonus to being on the 2nd floor in Hawaii. Its the same floor that the lounge is on! Normally we would not want to be in that floor but we found it to be extra convenient to not have to use stairs or the elevator to get to the lounge.

Does anyone know what time the poly cl opens for check in? We are hoping to check in early and head to the parks. Thanks!

I have checked in as early at 730am twice and plan on doing it in Sept again. You can email Poly IPO and let them know they will note your reservation!

Only thing is that curbside may not be on top of things, you may need to go into GCH and let them know that you need to be escorted to CL to check in. Thats what we had to do last time since we were so early..
