Had Tahiti been refurbished already?? I thought it was going to be closed during our trip...

Not yet. I think it is scheduled to start soon. The room was still very nice... It was clean and the only evidence of it needing refurb was in the bathroom where some of the paint was peeling. I loved the lights attached to the headboards and being able to dim them. That meant a little light for the kids but it wasn't so bright to keep us awake.

Just thought I'd pop in quickly as we have been at Poly since the 10th. We are staying GV CL and are enjoying the lounge and the CMs so much!! They have been so helpful and welcoming! Food has been delightful and during the rain yesterday it was nice I have the lounge as an option to relax in! DD2 loves the little table and chairs and calls all other kids in the lounge her friends! We do have a fridge in our room that has worked quite well and have not been told that it is being removed. We love the renovated room - although our balcony doesn't have the best view - I can't complain with seeing palm trees on a daily basis! Crowds have been quite manageable - we found it to be so quiet here! Pool has not been too crowded when we've been at it - trying out a cabana tomorrow for the morning and I'm looking forward to that! Overall our stay here has been a dream and we are loving every second of it!!!

Sounds wonderful. If you can let us know how you liked the cabana (I have one reserved). Have a Magical Trip! pixiedust:

I have a question on the regular cabanas. Can I call and reserve one now and do you pre pay? Or can I reserve as when I check in and will I prepay?

EDIT: So I called and was able to reserve a standard cabana and did not have to pre pay! Just in case anyone else wanted to know!

Yeah, the only time we really sat in the lobby was when we were early for DME, but we said we should have done that more often. :)

i agree. we have several resort days planned for our September trip!

I stayed at the polynesian this year for our first time onsite and am planning our trip for next year....I am finding it sooo hard to not just book the polynesian again! LOL

Has anyone stayed with in the past week and know how exactly Poly is being affected by the refrigerator issue? Not a necessity but it is always nice to throw bottles of water in the fridge plus our chilly pads.

Anyone know the names of the standard cabanas and exactly where they are located around the volcano pool?

How much are the cabanas? (Does it depend on season?) and what do you get for that cost? (Or if it's posted somewhere already, point me in the right direction). :-)

don't know names but they are located off the walkway you would take to Hawaii. about where the slide dumps out and up some stairs.

Just wanted to see our ticker!! We're getting so close!

2 Days until I am down at the Poly.
It seems like time is standing still right now. We are all packed and ready to go.

10-2 or 2-7 is $117.15 (incl tax)

10-7 $185 + tax

CC hold

Water & Soda
fruit tray

I was thinking about reserving a cabana, but I'm thinking just spending time on the balcony will be good enough.

Does anyone know if (and how) I could go about just ordering a fruit tray for the room, rather than a cabana?

After 9 wonderful days here at the Poly we are checking out tomorrow. So sad to be leaving. :( This was our first on site trip and I would come back here in a heartbeat! We are in Aoteroa (?) and we are facing the monorail. DH was not delighted with this by my 2 daughters and I were! Where else can you watch a monorail go by? He was won over by the gorgeous room, the gorgeous trees almost blocking our monorail view and the fantastic sound proof glazing which meant you could not hear a things as they went by. Love my view and will be sad to say goodbye. Thanks to all on this thread who had provided such great insight into the resort! Really helped with planning!

Sorry your trip is over, but glad you had a great time and enjoyed the Poly. It's now time to start planning the next trip ::yes::.

Glad you're having a great time. How cute about your DD calling all the other kids her friends. I hope you continue to have a great trip and enjoy the cabana tomorrow :cloud9:.

Trying different resorts is fun, but I do understand about not wanting to leave the Poly as it's just an overall amazing resort :wizard:.

Have a great trip :dance3:.

Just comparing square footage of resorts as we decide on our trip and I read that Tokelau are the biggest rooms....we stayed here this year and my DH keeps commenting how big the room was....will we notice a difference in room size in another longhouse?
