Unfortunately with my discount things book up quickly and I don't really want to book the Poly and then be stuck if the construction becomes more obstructive.

I see your point and with it being holiday time things will book up quickly. Kinda feel sad that the construction is keeping you away from somewhere you love.

I am too. It really does break my heart. We have had so many wonderful trips in the Hawaii building. I wish I hadn't cancelled our October trip, but I have a lot going on with my DS right now and it just isn't the right time to go. At least we got to visit in May, for one last hurrah in all her Poly glory before they start to ruin her. :sad1:

The good news at the Poly continues...

Just noticed on WDWInfo that the Neverland Ranch will be closed 1/1 through 3/31. Anyone know if this is still accurate? Yet another monkey wrench in our Poly plans.

I offered you a remedy in the other thread that you posted about this. :goodvibes

I am planning our Easter trip, and now I am really debating switching to WL because of all the construction. GF is out because it's the last resort to get picked up and dropped off on the bus routes, and not really a fan of the CR theming so WL is our best option right now. I'm sad because we love the Poly and the CL staff. Chef Eugene is one of the highlights of our trips.

Dani it is a shame about the bungalow construction but from looking at the maps of the proposed construction it would seem by April the beach area infront of Hawaii could be impacted greatly. I'd have concerns also of booking there. Not to mention if the are also working on GCH :scared1:

I know I still plan to stay at the Poly but not until the construction is completed.

I am glad I made the RC, I just know I would not have been happy with staying at the Poly since I do so hate those construction walls.

Justin Beeber is buying the Neverland Ranch but the The Neverland Club is closing in January to April 1 for renovations.

We check into the Poly on Saturday. We have two rooms and I am going to call and add a request that one of our rooms have a king bed if possible. We booked standard view. DH is leaving for Afghanistan 2 days after we get home so I want this trip to be special for him. Any thoughts on what building we should request? Would like to have rooms with balconies.

Do the bathrooms in the Hawaii building have 1 or 2 sinks? The layout on Tikiman's site indicates one sink, but I saw something about 2 sinks since the rehab? The rooms in Hawaii are a little smaller than some of the newer buildings and the bathroom layout is a little different. :confused3

The Hawaii building bathrooms have 2 sinks now and a huge vanity. It used to have 1 sink. I love the bathroom now since the renovation. You are correct. The Hawaii building rooms are the same size as most rooms but smaller than some rooms, i.e. in Tokelau building. Still large compared to most WDW Deluxe resort rooms. My family loves the Hawaii building. Hopefully, you will too!

Can you see the monorail from ground floor rooms in Rarotonga? My son is obsessed with trains and would love to just sit and watch the monorail, but we've found ground floor is easier with a stroller. I'll deal with the elevator if we need to do second floor to give him a good view.

Anyone know the exact mailing address for the Poly? Also, if I want to ship a box there to arrive next Friday, will the front desk hold it until we check in on Saturday?

Disney's Polynesian Resort
1600 Seven Seas Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

You add your name and preferably your reservation # as well as HOLD for Guest and it shouldn't be a problem. We were in CL so they delivered it to the CL desk, but there was no fee as Poly is not a convention resort.

Yes that's my concern. April is a while from now. Once Disney commences construction they tend to work quickly so I don't want to be stuck looking out the windows at a big construction site. Yuck.

I just got back from my first stay at the Poly, and I am hooked! We booked a garden view room and made no requests during on-line check in and we received a room on the 3rd floor of Fiji with a balcony that overlooked the lagoon. It was amazing! My kids loved playing in the sand on the beaches and taking the boat over to the MK. I am going through major Disney withdrawl. :(

Im not sure the volcano going is a done deal yet. There seems to be some differing information on that. I hope it doesn't go either. It would be a shame to lose it. I have heard yes it's going and I have heard they are only doing pool resurfacing. Kind of anyone's guess until they either announce something or they do it. Have a question for you because I have never really looked at the Fiji longhouse Is it all marina and TPV or do they have any GV?

We always get GV there and most of them are wondeful! Last trip out GV faced Luau cove and the lagoon. We had a great view of GF too. I feel like we got a LV for a GV price.

The TP views are not great from here, and I think they are not considered TPV I think they are all GV. Just get 3rd or 1st floor if you want a balcony, no balcony on 2nd floor . but we like it less busy so Fiji is our place. Many people complain about hearing the Luau but we thought it added a great ambience to the POLY!

Thank you so much!! We will definitely be requesting Fiji when we go. December can't get here too soon. Not wishing my life away just going through some stuff now and would just like to be at my happy place. I can't imagine the music from the luau would be intrusive to us. I love the luau and I would love hearing the music from it. It is over at 10 anyway so no problems with sleeping not that it would bother us anyway.

What are you likely to see when looking through your sliding glass door in the cheapest standard view room at the Polynesian? Has anyone stayed in one & do you have photos you can share of your view?

From Tokelau 2nd floor poolside end of May this year:

This is considered a standard view room and I LOVE them!

Anyone there now or going in a couple day??? :confused3 I need some pictures to get me through the next 19 days til I am there. The last couple of pages was a lot of talk about what will be, could be. I want what is NOW  So bring on some pictures and tell me all the good and magical things that are going on right now! :goodvibes

My kind of request!
