Watch out for the towel bars in front of the sinks. I was at the counter in front of the toilet (it is inset a bit from the sinks), and went to walk out of the bathroom and nailed myself in the thigh with the towel bar. Huge bruise. Did it again two days later and now I have matching bruises right next to each other. Dumb placement of the towel bars....especially with the inset.

Ouch!!!! You poor thing. I didn't run into that when I was there but I am also very short so that might be why.

Anyone know the exact mailing address for the Poly? Also, if I want to ship a box there to arrive next Friday, will the front desk hold it until we check in on Saturday?

Here now. Checked un Saturday to Niue 1704 and had to leave because the a/c didn't work. They moved us right away to 3910 in Tokelau. Very nice room. Balcony and thru the trees we can see the beach, the water and at night you can see the castle lit up. Booked garden view. Working fridge, very well I might add. My son put in his lemonade and turned up the temp and it froze. Handed out bands at the pool this weekend. Beach was very crowded for fireworks and then quickly cleared out. It's very crowded. Dme app didn't show correct wait times and while in Epcot and pushing here and now, it thought I was at Caribbean Beach. Even when a cm pushed the spaceship earth. Went to mk last night and while eating at CHH a woman changed her kids diaper at the table. Start the dining plan today so now we have mugs. Dh admits the dining plan saves us a ton of money.

I am planning our Easter trip, and now I am really debating switching to WL because of all the construction. GF is out because it's the last resort to get picked up and dropped off on the bus routes, and not really a fan of the CR theming so WL is our best option right now. I'm sad because we love the Poly and the CL staff. Chef Eugene is one of the highlights of our trips.

Don't count the Poly out yet. So far the construction is to the right of the Hawaii building and doesn't effect the views. I would keep your eyes on what is happening. There may be some noise during the day but the nights should be quiet.
So far the beach is still open in front of Hawaii and is only closed from Sunset Point on in the other direction.

That's now. April is still 7 months away.

Anyone have pictures of poly hair wraps? I think my girls would like this but not sure what they look like, exactly.

Do the bathrooms in the Hawaii building have 1 or 2 sinks? The layout on Tikiman's site indicates one sink, but I saw something about 2 sinks since the rehab? The rooms in Hawaii are a little smaller than some of the newer buildings and the bathroom layout is a little different. :confused3

Hubby and I are really looking at Fiji as the longhouse to stay in. I had to giggle at my dh this morning when he looked at me and said " You can really request where you want to stay if you aren't CL??" He really liked that you could put in a request. I am also "thinking" about what a room would be like where the monorail goes by. I think it would be cool to look out your window and see it glide by. Not sure about noise etc. Has anyone stayed in a longhouse like that? What was it like?[/QUOTE]

Hi!
I have been lurking for a few days as we begin planning our January visit. We have been Poly fans but got hooked on CL and last year couldn't get into Hawaii so we stayed YC CL and tried something new. Love the YC boards -great group!
Anyhow, our first Poly stay, we knew nothing about the DIS and nothing about longhouses. We were assigned Roratonga with a parking lot view - which turned out to be the monorail and let me tell you - we loved it! It was quiet. We were between the GCH and the Neverland club. My kids loved to sit on the balcony and watch for the monorail. It was perfect for us! Until we accidentally discovered Hawaii and CL. DH and DD went out exploring one night when I was putting ds to bed. They wondered down the trail and dh's key opened the door to the Hawaii building....now, he had no idea what the building was - it was our first stay and first night. It was also the Super Bowl play offs. They walked in and up the stairs to the lounge and watched the electric parade and fireworks, and the game was on the tv. DH was in heaven! They thought it was part of the resort lol!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
When the next day his key did not work we inquired about that magical place and were given the full details of the club level. He was hooked and we have never looked back.
As far as Roratonga, I still look fondly on that location.
Sorry to stray off topic. Your question sparked a memory :good vibes:good vibes

I know it is 7 months away but I would still not count it out until we know what is going on around then. They have a lot of work to do in the area that they are starting in so it may take them awhile to do any other work. Myself I wouldn't count it out just yet. At least for me I would wait and see. But that is me.

Unfortunately with my discount things book up quickly and I don't really want to book the Poly and then be stuck if the construction becomes more obstructive.
