I spoke to a CM today and he said that in the middle of September they will be announcing that the Poly will be testing for Fast Pass+ and Magic Bands in November

Okay I have a question. I was going to stop at the post office and pick up 1 or 2 of the pre-paid boxes they have. I thought this would be a good idea so that I could mail back some of the things that we are going to buy. My question is, will the Poly be able to mail them for me? The postage will already be paid, I just need the mail to pick it up. Has anyone done this. We are also staying CL so I was gonna see if anyone on that thread knows the answer.

Just a little over 2 weeks until our first stay at the Poly. We actually have never even been on the grounds, but I know we will love it. Do I have the transportation options correct below?


Going to MK - use monorail or water taxi
Going to HS - use bus
Going to AK - use bus
Going to EPCOT Future World - use monorail or bus (is one better?)
Going to EPCOT World Showcase - use monorail or bus (do you have to walk thru the entire park or is there a shortcut?)
Going to Downtown Disney - bus

Their are no buses to Epcot, you can either walk from Poly to TTC via walkway (which I would suggest because its faster and the grounds are pretty )or take the monorail from the Poly around to the TTC. The resort monorail does not go to Epcot

Allearsnet has a great listing of all the transportation options under the Polynesian link but to sum it up for you -

MK - Monorail is quicker but you can take a boat (which certainly is nice to do, but it is a bit longer than the monorail)

EP - Walk to the TTC and take the direct monorail to Epcot. This gets you to the front entrance near Future World. In order to use the back entrance near World Showcase, you would need to transfer. The quickest would probably be to take the monorail to MK then take a Epcot resort bus (BC/YC, BWI, or Swan/Dolphin). Usually these buses stop at ALL the resorts at Epcot so I would get off at the first stop and walk over...although if you go to Swan/Dolphin, it is a half mile walk to get to the back entrance of Epcot. Closest resort is BC and that is very close.

So for TIME, the monorail from TTC to Epcot then walking to World Showcase is quickest. For shortest distance WALKED, monorail to MK, bus to BC, walk to back entrance.

HS - Use the bus.

AK - Use the bus. Sometimes shared with Blizzard Beach.

DTD/TL - Yes, there is a bus....and in my experience, it takes forever!!! Worst bus ever is from almost any resort to DTD. Take a taxi if you want to save time. Take the bus if you want to save money...but bring something to do on the bus

Just reading some reviews on TripAdvisor, lots of complaints of bed bugs. Has anyone had an issue with this? We've never stayed at Poly before and are referring to this vacation as the 'Cadillac' of vacations, the reviews I am reading are making me very nervous...someone please make me feel better!!!

We've never stayed at Poly before and are referring to this vacation as the 'Cadillac' of vacations, the reviews I am reading are making me very nervous...someone please make me feel better!!!

We have stayed at the Poly MANY times and have never ever had an issue with bed bugs.

Will you share the link you're looking at on tripadvisor? I don't see any complaints of bedbugs. I read a few weeks ago (I think on this board) of a couple that had bedbugs but Disney handled it very well. Still, gross!

Strange that when I was there end of August, there were magic band packages to he picked up by some guests. When i asked about the magicbands, they said that it was starting after Sept 4 and that I just missed it. Oh well, next time magic bands for sure!

His bed bug thing is really crazy. I think alot of these bug reports the people brought them along....
Trying to get a freebie or something...

Been staying at POLY for years never ever had any sanitation issues.
I travel ALOT and have never seen any "bed bugs".....its not a huge problem that people think it is.

If people did a split stay in August with one of the four test resorts, they were able to use the MBs for their whole trip, even if the first resort was not a test resort. That may have been what you saw.

I heard different on this. I know one of our posters stayed at CR who was testing and then moved onto the Poly who was not testing and she was not able to use her bands when she got to the Poly. When I called CRO the other day and found out POP is doing the bands during our Oct stay I asked if they would be good at the Poly in Dec. She said no because the Poly test started yesterday and ends Oct 31st and they still don't have a live date for all the resorts to begin using them. So we will have the bands for October but will have to go back to using tickets and keys in December.

I originally was told that also. Once a resort tests they stay on it. I was told differently the other day. I sure would like to use them in December. We got a band for my dh for the trip in October even though he isn't going just so he would have one. I will take him off the reservation after they are delivered. It would just be so much easier for us to use them in December instead of constantly taking out keys, tickets etc....which we risk losing every time we do it. I am constantly asking where everyone's keys and tickets are during the whole trip. I about had a heart attack on the last trip because my ticket would not work correctly and they asked me for my drivers license which I could NOT find. I had taken it out for something and put it back in a different place. I was freaking until I finally found it. The poor CM finally just let me through because I guess he figured because I got so upset that I was who I said I was LOL.
