Absolutely, as soon as I get around to getting it up, I'll post it here :goodvibes
Most likely tomorrow-ish.

We are Disney regulars, but November will be our first Poly stay. We booked CL TPV and I'm hoping to get a third floor but I know there is no guarantee. Having stayed first and third floor what are the major diffferences?? Is the view much better from the third floor?? I hope I don't get second floor with no balcony and no patio. If you are on the first floor are there a lot of people right outside your door during the fireworks?? I'm excited about our stay and chose TPV CL because of a wicked discount. How would you order floor preferences at Hawaii building?-in case I don't get my request (3rd floor) I'm trying to think of a back up choice if they give me the option. Any feedback from POLY regulars would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

There's really not much of a difference in the view from the different floors other than your height and therefore your point of view. I liked third floor a little better than first and second because it does put you up the highest. I didn't have any issue with the view on the first floor (from room 1512) with the exception of the light directly in front of the patio, about 20 feet out (Which, honestly, was only a problem at night, and a minor problem at that, honestly, it wasn't really even a problem, it was just there. You can see it in the photo below.) In my opinion, the view from any floor is spectacular. I believe the MK side of the Hawaii building affords some of the finest views on property.

As far as people go, the Hawaii building is set back far enough away from the beach that people in front of your patio wont be a problem at all. You can see the grassy area between the building and the walkway/beach in the photo below. People tend to stay on the walkway and the beach.

I would rank my floor preferences in the order 3rd floor, 1st floor, 2nd floor. I like being able to get out the door and sit.

I would be very interested to know about the food cut backs at the CL at the Poly. We are scheduled to go in March and have always enjoyed the offerings. With the price of the rooms - and if no discount becomes available - I will be very upset if they are cut back too much. One reason we stay is we have 3 boys and having the snacks is a big help. Having apps at the hotel before a later night dinner is part of the fun for my guys. We also need the breakfast - we like getting up in shifts and being to just go down an eat whenever is a big help to our vacation plan.

Glad you enjoyed it anyway!

Honestly, the cutbacks aren't really that substantial. We didn't have any problem getting a snack when we needed one. It's just little things, like only one kind of cookie in the afternoon instead of two. Or only popcorn, instead of popcorn AND chips and salsa. Three desserts instead of five, or only one kind of danish instead of two.

All the juices, sodas and adult beverages (including the punch) are still there and in abundance. There really is still a good quantity of food and had I not been staying CL since 2006, I would've never noticed that anything was missing.

Great pics and review Guitarbob! We haven't stayed at the Poly since 2007 but it's one of our favorites too :goodvibes. We are currently trying to decide on Beach CLub or Polynesian for our next trip.

We leave for the Poly 5 weeks from yesterday. We also got our ME passes yesterday too!

Welcome back guitarob. I agree, unless you have stayed for years--you won't notice a difference. We've been staying since 1996 and the changes we have experienced over the years would make your head spin. They go through the cut back and then add things back only to take them away again. It has never been so much that we would not return. For us, it has always been about the CMs in the building. :)

Loved your photos--excellent night shots. I'm looking forward to hearing more. I have to agree with you though--3rd floor is my preference as well. :lovestruc

Hi all, we are heading back for our second trip to the Poly in just a few weeks! We are going to do 3 nights at US to do a Harry Potter fix on 10/15 then heading to the Poly 10/18-10/23. My kids, 6 and 4, have no idea! We're planning on picking my first grader up from the school bus on 10/15 with all the luggage in the back of the SUV, and see how long it takes them to figure out where we are going :rolleyes1 Should be very entertaining. :rotfl:

I've been lurking for awhile, it's finally starting to feel like it will really get here! We're doing lagoon view, and have requested Tahiti.

Congrats to all of you going sooner! :thumbsup2

Welcome back guitarob and Mrs. B :flower3:

Your pictures are beautiful. I cannot wait to read your TR. popcorn::

I second, or third the thoughts about the CL offerings. From our 12/08 trip to our 10/09 trip there was a drastic change in the offerings so it was really noticeable to us but we enjoyed the lounge offerings very much on our last trip regardless. The breakfast alone is worth it for us to be able to get up and stroll down the hall for a light breakfast and head off to the parks.

Like Tess said, for me, CL at the Poly is more than the lounge, it is also the location of Hawaii, and the CL CM's. We like a more laid back, not-so-scheduled Disney experience and staying CL is perfect our type of touring. We also like the added space of the lounge and sitting area on the third floor for extra space. Let's face it...spending 8 nights in a hotel room even with just the three of us get's a bit crowded at times. Sometimes DH would read in the room while DD and I hung out in the lounge while I chatted up other adult guests and she hung out with other kiddos. :thumbsup2

Speaking of CL, the IPO made our 3 ADRs that we requested. I have a few other plans up my sleeve but I will work on those later. This trip will technically be Breezy's 10th Birthday Celebration since it is a few weeks after her actual birthday.:cake: She has no idea we are even going back. We are going to tell her on her actual birthday. She thinks we are not going back until Oct of 2011 :rolleyes1 I am confident that the Poly IPO will help make her celebration fabulous :wizard:

What an awesome birthday present. I wish I got presents like that :)

Welcome back, guitarob and MrsB!

We were in Hawaii room 1525, so we were just down the hall from you. Weird!

Anyway, we found our room to be great. No major problems at all. But, my MIL and her mom were in the room right next to us and they found dirty glasses and grapes all over the floor when they finally got their room. Their closest lights didn't work and then, on Sunday morning, their bathroom sink clogged.

MIL called for maintenance and we left for the park. We didn't come back until after IllumiNations and when they walked into their room, there was still plumbing materials all over their bathroom. They called maintenance again and they came out and fixed the sink, but they were there well after midnight.

It wasn't that we didn't enjoy ourselves because we did, we just thought it was odd that our room was great and the one right next to us had issues.

We had a great time as a whole, though, and we loved CL!

What a great surprise for your kids aroundtheriverbend ! We too have requested Tahiti lagoon view for our first stay at the poly in Jan.:thumbsup2

I'm extremely excited and just had to share! My Fiance and I just booked our honeymoon at the Poly! We originally were planning to go for 8 days, but because flights were cheaper if we flew out on a Tuesday, now we're staying for 9. We're super excited. We've never been to the Poly, with my Fiance never having stayed on property before. Judging from what I've read on this thread, we're never going to want to stay anywhere else. Is it March 28th yet??? :dance3:
