All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

Does ASmusic have computers that guests can use?(like a lab)
If so is there a charge?
Is there Wireless access in rooms or other parts of the hotel?

Which buildings are the suites located in? Are they all "preferred" location?

Stayed at ASMu 9/18-9/27. Loved the resort. Movie by the pool everynight at 9 pm, very cool. They also had a schedule of hula hooping contest, dance parties etc in your check in packet. Both pools were very nice, always perfectly clean. We really loved our room except (i know it's just a req) but we had req a king bed and got two doubles, kept checking back the first three nights to see if we could switch, but after that gave up. Hubby and I slept in seperate beds most nights, just too crowded otherwise (hes 6'4"). anyways, room wasn't ready when we checked in at 1:30, had to go to MK and then come back, kind of threw me for a loop, wasn't prepared to head right to a park. Two different days I called housekeeping in the morning and asked for our room not to be cleaned, both days it was anyways. Kind of annoying, since I left things out like cash on the table, that I swear (but not enough to accuse anyone of taking $6) that wasn't there when we returned. Also, check out day we had a knock on the door asking us if we left yet it was 8:30 in the morning, we didn't have to go to the airport until 10:30 am! Food court was great, tried pancake breakfast, burgers, chicken feticinni was the best!! Brownie sundaes were also awesome and counted as a dessert when eating a QS credit and they were 4.99, what a deal. We were there on free dining and booked bounceback for next year. We never got a bounceback flyer though, had to go ask the front desk for one. We really loved the hotel and decided not to switch resorts for next year. We did rent a car, which really saved us a headache, and parking was really close to our room. Oh, we were in the Broadway section, first floor. If I were taking bus transportation, it was definetely a 5 minute walk to the main building. We did not get the refillable mugs, as the building was too far away to be worth it. Instead we spent about 2 bucks in the pop machine when we got back each night. Any questions just ask!!!

Glad to hear you loved the resort. I have a couple of questions if you don´t mind. Was your location "preferred"? Could it be that the money disapeared because housekeeping thought it was a tip?

I am assuming they thought it was a tip even though, it was obviously laying out crumbled up with some reciepts I took out of my pocket. But like I said I was only 90% sure it was there so I didn't want to make a big deal about it. We were not preferred location in the Broadway building, only Calypso for music I think, and maybe jazz that building is quite close as well. Also, we did not have a privacy curtain, would have liked one though. And sometimes they would clean our room at 5:30 at night, sometimes at 1 or 2 in afternoon. Sometimes we were napping when they came and just asked for extra towels.

Oh, and in the morning about 7;45 the food court lines were managable, but once 8 am rolled around it got crowded then until the parks opened. One time we waited in the pasta line around 1:00 lunch time for a good 20 minutes, food lines could have been faster, but the food was good and fresh, so don't want to complain too much. Also, if you have a car, there is a McDonalds within a mile on property that you drive right by in the mornings. We did that some mornings instead of wasting CS credits on breakfast. Pancakes and two drinks averaged $10, where some restaurants you can get 15-20 out of your CS credit. This is just what I observed after getting back and adding everything up.
My reciepts came to a little under $900 in free food. We spent $160 on tips/and alcoholic drinks (3 total) at restaurants for 9 days. What a deal free dining is!! (We are two adults, no children).

I need the website for the outdoor movies and the list for the month of October which disney movie is showing!

in september they were playing: enchanted, camp rock, jump in?? , mystery disney cartoon, The game plan, thats all I can remember, they played the same movie on the same day of the week the whole month.

Just got back from ASMu. We were there from 9/20 to 9/30. There was no work being done on the food court/lobby area when we got there and we were very relieved. Then, on the morning of the 29th, we woke up to the main door (in the rear) to the food court/lobby area closed off, the arcade closed off and half of the beverage island closed. It was like that when we left yesterday as well. My DS peeked around the partition and said that they had the floors all ripped out. Seems like they're doing it in mini-pieces....:confused3

Overall we were pleased with the resort. Minor irritations here and there, but nothing that would keep me from staying again. I do think that I liked ASMo better, but that's because i liked the building layout more. It seemed like we were very far from the main building and we weren't even in the back of the resort.

We were third floor Rock Inn.

Any questions just ask! Be happy to help if I can! :goodvibes

I just requested for a Broadway theme for my Entire Family. And Broadway is Standard Room or Preferred Room! Oh! One more thing That I need to know about Disney's All-Star Music is next door to the Disney's All-Star Sports?

The only preferred is Calypso.... & All Star Music is right inbetween Sports & Movies

I wouldn't plan on getting your request, just be pleasantly surprised if you do. We had requested connecting rooms, so the kids could stay in one and adults in the other, even called the week of our arrival to talk directly to the hotel, and when we checked they had us in rooms in the same building but on different floors!!! They finally did find us 2 rooms next to each other, but not connecting way back in the country section. So, a request is a request not a guarantee.

We didn't get our request either. First time I've ever stayed at a Disney property and not gotten what I asked for...

Hi All,
we have stayed here before but I can not remember 2 things. If anyone could answer 2 quick questions I would really appreciate it.

1. Are there curtains blocking the sink area from the room? We just stayed at the Pop and they did not have them. But I swear I remember at the Music having to pull that curtain from the baby's hands when we stayed there? I may have lost my mind though.

2. Are the preferred rooms any bigger? Or just convenient to front building?

Thanks
Erica
