All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

I wouldn't plan on getting your request, just be pleasantly surprised if you do. We had requested connecting rooms, so the kids could stay in one and adults in the other, even called the week of our arrival to talk directly to the hotel, and when we checked they had us in rooms in the same building but on different floors!!! They finally did find us 2 rooms next to each other, but not connecting way back in the country section. So, a request is a request not a guarantee.

 I know you´re not guaranteed connecting rooms, even though many have reported having "connecting rooms guaranteed" stated on their ressies, but I would hate to have rooms on different floors!!!:scared1:

I really love to stay in the Broadway theme at the all-star music! And I love musicals so much!

Does anyone have photos of the ASMu foodcourt?

Hi All,
we have stayed here before but I can not remember 2 things. If anyone could answer 2 quick questions I would really appreciate it.

1. Are there curtains blocking the sink area from the room? We just stayed at the Pop and they did not have them. But I swear I remember at the Music having to pull that curtain from the baby's hands when we stayed there? I may have lost my mind though.

2. Are the preferred rooms any bigger? Or just convenient to front building?

Thanks
Erica

First of all..... wheres Linda when you need her?
1. I think the curtains are only in certain sections. I don't believe they have them in all of them. We just stayed in Jazz and they did have them (along with brand new mattresses that had a date stamp of late Aug. 2008.

2. preferred rooms are no larger than standard. All the rooms are the same size I believe except I think the handicapped rooms the room itself is a little smaller because I think they made the bathroom bigger to manauver around.

Obviously, the suites are larger than the standard rooms.

i was in broadway last week, and they did not have a curtain divider, wish they had though!

Regarding privacy curtains, go to page 50 and read post #741.

I stayed in a handicapped room May 2008. The bath IS a bit larger than a standard room to accommodate a wheelchair.

We stayed in Jazz a couple of weeks ago and did have a privacy curtain. AFAIK, most sections don't have curtains. I don't know why they didn't put them in all of the sections when they did the renovation? :confused3

Thanks you did a good explaining.
I just wanted to add a couple of photos to help others visulize.

Yes, the privacy curtains are in the Calypso and Jazz Buildings.
Here is a Photo of the curtain:

Preferred rooms at the values are really rooms that nearest the main pool, food court and bus stop.

Preferred rooms are All Star Music are located in the Calypso buildings.
The Preferred cost about $12 more a night.

If you choose to book a preferred room at All Star Music you will have a privacy curtain.

Also if you book a family Suite at All Star Music you will have 2 privacy curtains 1 by each vanity.

The Family Suites were made by reconfiguring 2 rooms and are 520 Square food.

The preferred , standard and Handicapped rooms are all 260 square feet.

If a HA room has a rollin shower in the bathroom the bathroom area is larger and the sleeping area smaller but they are all 260 square feet.

Here is a layout of a standard value room connecting to HA value room with a roll in shower.

Thanks for the pic!

We just returned from our 6 night stay at ASMu. We were in the Rock section at the very back near Country. I had requested a top floor room, quiet area, near parking, and received it. We were very happy with our stay. The room was in excellent condition and the beds were very comfortable (new mattresses). We actually drove to the check-in parking area when we wanted to eat at the food court. It would have been quite a haul otherwise. If you are worried about a lot of walking and don't have a car, I would highly recommend booking preferred.

I stayed at Pop last year and enjoyed ASMu much more. Just didn't seem as busy and loud. And with all of the recent renovations, ASMu seemed fresher, cleaner, newer. I booked bounceback at ASMu for next Sept. I will be very happy here again. But, if hubby should have a great year in sales, then I will change it to AKL/bunk beds room. It is very hard to sleep with a wiggly 9 year old!

Does anyone know if all the family suites are on the first floor? I need the first due to an upcoming surgery. Thanks!

I'm so excited that to stay in the all-star music! Our Family hope to stay in the broadway or Jazz inn Theme! Our Family will wait to find out very soon!

I just returned from a quick stay , first time staying here. Arriving at 2 am does not help your room location! LOL Even the CM admitted to this!
(Was going to stay at CBR, and changed last minute to take advantage of a great AP rate here) Glad I did!

Anyway, I have lots of pics I took in the morning that I will post soon on the pic thread..is that where everyone prefers to post them?

I do not have one negative to say! Isnt that refreshing when so many love to bash the values!?!
My request was denied and I was given the Boot! LOL

Country Fair.....the furthest room I think! LOl However, my room was on the end, no traffic of any kind, peaceful , quiet and I had a view of the woods!!

I could have had 2 guests, an armadillo and a toad, I denied them entrance! LOL
The room was recently refurbished..spotless, clean....mattress was so comfortable! No curtain though by the bathroom, though I read that somewhere....I didnt swim, but both pool areas looked lovely, have lots of photos in the early am, (so no swimmers, lol)..I think it was great how they have the pool movies for guests! Saw the very end of Enchanted!

So let me know if you guys prefer photos here or on the photo thread!
