Al Sharpton Strikes Again!

What is the cause exactly...a person with a criminal record got shot because he didnt follow cops orders. thats when problems happen. I dont mean this to sound racist but I am sure it will be taken that way but Blacks, not all but some, are so focused on police brutality and profiling they forget that the laws still apply to them and think just because they get pulled or stopped it was because they are black....I am not syaing it doesnt happen but some blacks are so fearful of it they forget to just do what they are aske to do and they will be fine....I know bad things have happened but its not always the case and like someone mentioned the past is the past. Some things need to be left there right or wrong....So if this guy was shot a killed in one shot it wouldnt be an issue....:confused3 I agree 50 seems like alot but we dont know the whole story....and i am sorry for this womans loss maybe some attention should be made as to why this guy didnt want to stop....because he had a record....:confused3

I am not a racist by any means but I dont agree with Al Sharptons tactics or the people who support him, same goes for the KKK...they are both hate groups plain and simple....reverse discrimination is the same as discrimination...plain and simple....

Also I agree there are bad cops I believe that but who am I gonna trust the kid with a criminal record or a cop....I tend to lean toward the cop....I guess the guy was wrongly accussed with his previous problems too huh....

I wonder what you would post if you meant to sound racist.

DD, do a search for Channon Christian and Christopher Newsome - this young white couple was carjacked/raped/tortured/murdered/mutilated by a group of blacks. The details are horrendous - but it's not being prosecuted as a hate crime. NO national media coverage.

They didn't have criminal records, were driving through a bad area (it's the way "out" of the university area, where they had been) their only crime was that they were driving her Four Runner and were a white couple.

One person can't do it all.

What have YOU done? What have the leaders in your community done? Instead of complaining about Sharpton's silence on this, why don't you take action to:

A. bring attention to the problem
B. put an end to the problem

I can't think of anyone in their right mind that would take issue with your cause. It’s easier to sit back and complain instead of taking action. It’s also easy to pretend that we don’t know/understand the issues that created the Sharpton’s of the world.

Oh well, it's time for me to get ready for work.

Have a great day everyone.

Why are you making this into a white vs black issue when this is an all race issue. Can't you grasp the fact that we're talking about police brutality across the board. In other words all individuals i.e. everyone...white, black, hispanic hispanics ect...... who have experienced injustice from a bad cop?

You think I am racist and Al Sharpton is not....like I said earlier Typical....

We can talk about how racist I am not, if you wanna....We can start with black buddies, one being my best friend that I hang out with on a regular basis, We can talk about the guy in my siggie that I have stayed up to a week with in his apartment, we can talk about going to a predominantley black school and playing football and basketball and being the only white on the team....what else do you want....Have I rallied for the black cause no...I havent rallied for a white cause either....sorry.....I dont see a need for a white or black cause....

Is that what happened with this case....someone took a stand and Al followed....or Al took action first....:confused3

I doubt either way Al Sharpton could careless about the two white kids killed by the 4 blacks...JMHO..

Now back to the story...I see 2 white cops and a black cop....is that correct...I am not up on the story so i really dont know but it just showed a blip on the news...Al got arressted boy I bet he is loving that

I agree it shouldnt be black white issue....but how often has police brutality been so heavily publicized when a white kid gets beaten or killed by a cop...it does happen you know...you never hear about it....But with Al Sharpton making an appearance it automatically becomes a black white issue whether it is or not....lets put the shoes on the other foot....be totally honest with yourself too...if this was a white boy and a white family shot by a black cop or any cop....1st would it be on the news? 2nd would Al Sharpton be there? Finally would it really even be discussed?

I say 3 no's....

He's a world class IDIOT is what he is! No sense whatsoever nothing but a controversial, trouble causing IDIOT. With more men like him the United States would stay in a Civil War. Ughh can't stand him!

Apparently not , they were found not guilty, tragic things happen, they happen everyday, nobody wins in this situation , no cop ever wants to kill anyone.

Do you expect them to stand there and get shot or run over, is a police funeral a better deal for you? Police officers are killed every single day, some for hesitating instead of reacting to a very real threat that could cost them their lives.

I dont recall seeing police officer kneeling in the street when they are executed by criminals, why is that ok?

Dont fool yourself for a second and think al sharpton is not all about al sharpton, anything to get his mug on the TV

Don't think for one minute that someone didn't die today..because an ambulance or emergency vehicle didn't get to them in time. He has a right to protest, but he shouldn't be placing others in harms way..and that is exactly what they are doing. He has a right to protest but not at the expense of others. He's not making any points this way.

______________________

I can't stand him! The only agenda he has is himself! He is in my opinon a completely selfish, obnoxious, pompous person who only chants about civil rights when there is something for him to gain. He makes me sick.

Now you see, the only thing AL is fighting for is himself. Don't kid yourself. If there was no media to see him he would not be jumping all over this. If this was an unpublicized case Al would not even care. He is a media hound and nothing more.

Where's Al stand on that....I guess they shouldnt have been driving there is his stance....:confused3

I bet it would be a hate crime the other way around...I would put money on it...
----This case (the one dolphindan1 is referring to) is just horrific. :sad2: :sad2:

I agree with all of the quotes above.:thumbsup2 I wish Al Sharpton would go away already.

I can't speak for Al Sharpton, but as someone else said, what created the Al Sharpton's of the world? Why does he have the attitude he has? Only Al can speak for Al, but I would like to know with all those harping about Al being in the center of cases such as this, how many of those Al haters have stood up for what's right when cases like this happen?

As far as what would we do if it's a white kid, well I would hope it get the same coverage as all brutality cases. Unfortunately, some cases are looked over which is quite sad, especially when victims are too afraid to voice what happened for fear of retaliation.

That said, Al Sharpton is his own man. Love him, hate him, I'm sure he could care less what you think. He isn't responsible for you or anyone else. It's his right to chose rather or not he wants to fight for certain people. For those who think he's such a racist, I wonder how many of you have actually protested against police brutality against non blacks. What's stopping you from speaking out?

To those who say Al should "just go away" is that how you handle problems. Just wishing them away and hope for the better won't get the job done! At least the man has the gumption to stand up and fight for what he believes in which obviously can't be said for most.

Dont you find that odd, that after all this time, all the news coverage and a Trial..We STILL dont know the Whole Story?????:confused3

Al Sharpton IS a racist plain and simple. Any message HE is trying to get across is tarnished by his reputation.

He is not fighting racism or police brutailty - he's ONLY concerned with racism against African Americans and police brutality against African Americans. You will NEVER see him fighting and protesting when the victim is white or hispanic and the culprit is African American. Those cases, those crimes, don't concern him in the least - it sends the message that it's ok as long as the victim isn't black.

When he's wrong - you never hear an apology. Nope - he just moves on to his next case trying to spread his love and hate.

Let's not forget Tawana Brawly, "whitey" "Diamond Merchants" and Hymie Town". You cannot spread racisim out of one side of your mouth while the other side is protesting it.

Now back to the story...I see 2 white cops and a black cop....is that correct...I am not up on the story so i really dont know but it just showed a blip on the news...Al got arressted boy I bet he is loving that

I thought it was 2 black and 1 white.

2 black..1 white....

All I see is complaints about Al Sharpton and why he doesn't step up for the white community. I'm sorry, but he can't do everything. So, he picks his battles, and? Instead of focusing so much on what HE doesn't do, maybe yall should focus on what YOU don't do. The story is not about Al Sharpton, it's about the victim and others like him. Stop focusing on the negative and focus on the positive things like what we could all learn from this. It's seems as though a lot of you are missing the point, maybe if this happened to your son, husband, cousin, or brother, you would understand. I'm sorry, but no amount of enjoying your time in a strip club or whatever warrants being shot down like a dog on your wedding day.

Al Sharpton is a racially motivated man- I don't think I would call him racist. I am not a fan of his however.

BUT I don't have a problem with peaceful protest. (if we are going back to Tawana how about the boston tea party?) People feel wronged and have every right to protest. Plus it didn't impact our lives as they avoided the Lincoln Tunnel:banana: thanks Al!

Remember the Rodney King verdict? I was on Wall street at the time. I am white. Everyone was hopping trains to get the heck out of the city. The "angry blacks" were coming! Really that is what they were saying! "They" were coming over the Brooklyn Bridge. Which we could see from our office. My coworker(black) was asked if he was going to protest. To which he replied "I'M BLACK???":rotfl2:

I think the divide in the city is Citizen vs. Police. Not black vs. white.

Who says he has to fight the good fight for all people. He can pick and choose his battles. He's not obligated to the white community. He's not obligated to the black community or Asian community. He can pick and choose his battles.

That said, again I ask what are some of you people doing to stop the madness which these corrupt police officers are bringing down on innocent people i.e. whites, blacks, asians, mexicans ect...

Nobody said he has to fight the good fight for all people - but if he thinks he is fighting against RACISM and POLICE BRUTAILITY - he's absolutely NOT. His fight is racism against blacks and police brutailty against blacks - ONLY. He needs to call it what it is and not pretend he's out there doing good for the cause.

I don't recall him ever saying he's doing it for all people. Might sound bad, but I'm being honest.

So the man made a mistake, non of us are perfect. I mean really you all keep bringing up Tawana Brawley which was what 20 years ago?

I'm talking about the now-today not yesteryear!

Well he constantly refers to yesteryear in his speeches !!! Is it ok for him to constantly bring up the past? Is he is exempt to your rules because he is the wonderful AL Sharpton?

Why don't you tell me since you say he's the wonderful Al Sharpton:lmao:
