AK: Which Rum Dole Whip is better?

Just on opinion the Coconut rum sounds like a great blend. Dark may overwhelm the yummy whip....

I will be trying both in a few days and if still standing after that (hehe) will report back!

I haven't tried either at AK...I did try the Dole Whip with rum during F&W last October... I'm not sure if it tastes the same, but I thought the dark rum overpowered the taste of the Dole Whip.

I think that the coconut sounds yummy! I will try it in a week!

I think the one I tried was dark rum. I got them when they first introduced the combination at the F&G in 2013. I plan to get both next month to know for sure. But my first inclination is dark rum vs. coconut rum. Maybe it depends on which flavor dole whip you like?

Good point! My only thought was for pineapple whip. Dark rum with orange might be interesting. Coconut rum with pineapple rum sounds like a party to me though -lol-

I got the dark rum. It was yummy in the tummy for sure! Between the heat and the alcohol it started melting so I had to dig in fast.

Haven't tried either. Sounds too sugary to me but if I were to try one next time I'm there I'd try the coconut rum. The dark rum flavor would be too overpowering.

They can ask for ID. Not sure what the rule is in FL. In TN you must have your ID on you to drink an alcoholic beverage, no matter if you are 21 or 61. Most servers ask to see the ID to be sure you have it and also check ages when needed. I'm sure if someone looks close or young they would ask for ID.

I would say that there is no way to tell by looking. Unless they use a different cup for the spiked versions. DH and I both got spiked versions so I was not able to see what type of cup was used for a regular version.

I think the pineapple whip with coconut rum sounds delicious so will have to try that one on our trip in January, and if we get back to AK a second time maybe try the dark rum with orange too!

I've decided we need all 4 combos
Orange with dark rum
Orange with coconut
Pineapple with dark rum
Pineapple with coconut

And that's not even taking in to consideration a swirl (if they have swirl there)
