Have any of you ever rec'd an airline credit when the cost of your flight was reduced after booking? If so, which airline did you use? I think I can remember reading that people have been credited the difference. I'm just wondering if all airlines do this or just some....or if any still do this.

I've had this happen with Alaska Airlines. Bought the roundtrip ticket between Seattle and MCO for my trip next week last September for 376.00. Noticed the price dropped in November to 276.00 for the same dates so called Alaska and got a 100.00 credit. Used that credit for a ticket to Phoenix in Feb- that ended up being only 108.00 with credit. And, to extend it some more, got bumped coming home from Phoenix (willingly) and got a free roundtrip ticket anywhere Alaska flies. Am using this for roundtrip Seattle -Miami Dec 19 - 23 (Orlando was already booked with this freebie fare). Will take the DCL Wonder 3-day and then off to WDW to stay at the GF after the cruise.

I call this original ticket the one that keeps on giving :D. And, I found out the trip coming home from Orlando to Seattle on 4/18 is overbooked by 6 - you can bet me, my DH, and DS, will volunteer to be bumped yet again.

I just received a credit from America West. Our flight went down $20 per ticket. I'll use this for our Oct. trip!

Thanks for your replies. Anyone else?

Travellady, your story was so funny! That original ticket has certainly taken you far! :) I'll be curious to know if you end up getting bumped on the 18th and can sneak in another trip! :) Have a fun vacation!

We have 'vouchers' from Delta. The price dropped twice - called Delta & had no trouble getting the vouchers for the difference either time. We are hoping to use them for our October trip -- hoping that the price goes down -- it is now running over $300 from Minneapolis.

I went to ata's website last week and our flight from midway went from 350 to 310 for 2 adults. I called and they sent me 2 vouchers for 20 each. Then the very next day i recd an email bout my miles from ata and I decied to check the site again and our airfare dropped AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now instead of costing 350 our flight cost 270 and they did send all vouchers to our house. Now we have a 80 credit for anywhere ata flys. The people ata were great and we got our vouchers over the weekend

We have received "vouchers" on two different occasions. The latest one just last night and I purchased the tickets on Thursday.

Like travellady we got bumped not once but twice about 2 weeks ago. We received checks the first time and $400 vouchers the second time. December we are headed to WDW and Grandma's house in Indianapolis. The fares Thursday for the multi-city ticket were $449.50 ($49.50 out of pocket). Our flight times already changed and I had to get new seat assignments last night. Asked if the price had dropped and it had by $25.00, YEAH! I now have (3) $25.00 vouchers for furture travel. Oh, darn another vacation to start thinking about!:smooth:

2 weeks ago realized my flights for August drop $60.00 each...for a total of $160.00 called USAir and I actually got a REFUND! Very psyched!
