I asked this question on one of the other boards but did not get much of a response so I thought I would try over here on the family board.

We would like to take the older kids to see the Medieval time dinner show but want some feedback on those who have done this before. We have an active, hard to keep still, soon to be 2 yr old. During the show is the place set up so that my DH or I could walk him in the back and still watch the show. Can you come in and out of the dining area without causing a great disturbance if we need to get up from the table. I don't want to waste gobbs of money if this experience is not toddler adaptable. Please let me know your experiences with it.

Been to this show in Myrtle Beach and honestly, it is not toddler friendly. You are seated in long rows, sort of like stadium bleachers. Each level higher than the other. You may be seated at the end of the row, wheras it would be quite a disturbance to get through to the exit. (just like a movie theatre) If you get up from your "row" there is nowhere to go but to the exit. It's set up just like an arena and there is nowhere to stand in the back. Maybe you could get a babysitter for the night? I hear great things about Fairy Godmothers and Kids Night Out

Or send dad and the older kids and you stay with the baby and do something fun.

I agree with athena's mommy. I've been to this show in New Jersey. It's stadium like seating with a shelf to eat off of in front of you. A toddler would be disruptive to the surrounding guests. I think the show is rather long too (or maybe it just seemed that way). It would be like taking a toddler to a pro sports game. You will be wasting your money.

I recommend either you or DH take the older kids to the show and the other do something else with the toddler.

We took our DS to the show at Myrtle Beach when he had just turned two. All kids are different but he did great and loved the show. He had a seat between his dad and I but sat on my lap for most of the show. He sat spellbound the whole time. He did have to pay I think, it's been a while, and he had his own plate. This however, is the kid that I could have taken to V&A at two and he would have been great. OH, wait that's another post. Just kidding, Medevial Times is ok for a toddler but not V&A. don't flame me!!!!! You know your child best. If he likes horses and can sat still for about two hours, he might just like it and do fine.'

Jordan's mom

BTW my 22 month old is named Jordan too. But he can't sit still for five minutes let alone 2 hours. I think we are going to bypass the show this time and spend that money elsewhere we can do it in a year or 2.
