Yes, all those other emails have gotten my heart jumping everytime I see them...lol
From what I can tell from the second rounders, it seems there is a trend toward people from out of the country...UK, Peru, Canada. Perhaps Disney is going to capitalize on the fact that the dollar is so weak and there are so many foreign visitors to DW who might have questions for the Moms Panel and need their unique point of view. Smart move on their part, IMO. Just thinkin' out loud, lol
Again, congrats to you all who made it!!
I received the message today and although I already answered the three questions, I haven´t realized how much lucky I was for getting into second phase...until I met you guys!!!! Now I have another reason for feeling lucky: finding a great group of people that not only share my love for Disney but are incredible, caring and optimistic human beings.
I was very relaxed about this opportunity. I am from Peru, not english native speaker and although the bases did not mention that contestants have to be from USA, I never ever thought I could have the slightest possibility with so many experts and Disney lovers that had travel countless times to our dream land...but here I am!!!!
Luckily I already answered the 3 questions as I told you, because after reading your messages I could be so nervous that I don´t know what to write!!!!
Will keep you posted...meanwhile please send me tons of pixie-dust!!
P.S. And yes Bret (aka RatBoy)! I am the annoying peruvian lady that filled your inbox with loooots of questions last may. But let me say that thanks to the Moms Panel my trip was the best EVER...thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
I noticed that as well. I noticed on another board, there was also a lot from out of the US. No biggee! There are a lot of foreign travellers especially now with our economy. Disney isn't just for the United States citizens, it's for the world, so I guess this would make sense. I woke up this AM and remembered that I didn't get the email. I was bummed! It is what it is. I am so swamped now with my classes and other things going on (not so good things), thought this would be "my time" to shine and a great diversion. However, I am sure we all feel that way. I know we feel like we are "special" with our Disney passion and knowledge, but let's face it...20k apps & I am sure it wa tough to narrow down. So..good luck everyone, I wish you the best!
Leslie
On another note, is there anyone who agrees with me that all of the Disneyinsider and DisneyParks emails that have flown into our in boxes in the last 24 hours are a sick tease? LOL!![]()
I haven't heard of anyone receiving a "thanks but no thanks" email from the folks running the applications for the '09 Mom's Panel -- so, I'm guessing that they decided that didn't work so well last yearand have omitted it (for the time being or as a general practice, I don't know.
)
I'm just glad that I'm assured another year in the Mickey Mom's Club.![]()
Good luck to everyone moving on to Round 2!
Eileen
I shared this over on PassPorter earlier, but thought you folks might get a kick out of it:

The combo of Disney knowledge and eavesdropping... ...can make you look like a dork sometimes!
I know 'cause I just went "over the edge" this morning.![]()
I was at Kinkos shipping off a package to my DH (who's in Orlando for a convention and had the audacity not to invite me). I was absorbed in carefully filling out the shipping label with all the specifics for the convention center, when my ears pricked up at the word "Disney."
See, the guy behind the counter was chatting with his co-worker:
"Yeah, and I don't even have the money to pay her back right now. I mean... exactly how MUCH is a one-day ticket to Disney anyway?"
Without thinking, without stopping my writing, without looking up, I just blurted out... "$75.62, tax included."
Conversation stopped. I looked up and all three Kinko's employees were staring at me with mingled looks of astonishment, horror and pity.
I just paid and left, knowing full well that they all burst into mocking laughter when the door closed behind me.
I'm SUCH a dork sometimes!

That's okay, you can hang with us dorks!!
So what was their facial expression when you said this? Or did they just look at you like you had something stuck between your teeth. Gotta love that feelin.
Julie
I would say that it was pretty clear they thought I was a nutter.![]()
They actually moved to the other side of the store to finish their conversation.... uninterrupted. (I tried not to notice that they also snuck worried looks at me as if they thought I might suddenly pull out a knife or start singing "it's a small world....")
The best thing of all was that, just after I had paid and left, I got a call from the DH who balked at the extremely high price of the "first delivery" service and wanted me to go back in and reduce it to the "delivered by 10AM" service.
I opened the door to the Kinkos and the uproarious laughter that I heard at first stopped dead cold.
I have to admit to taking a small amount of delight in the fact that they seemed seriously worried that I was going to go postal on them all.![]()
Gave me a good giggle for the rest of the day.
Eileen
PS - I know I'm not alone in this-- we ALL do it, don't we?!
That is just too funny. There have been times when I have heard strangers discussing disney and really want to jump in but don't for fear of looking like a crazy person.
Okay, this is funny!![]()
You are so not alone! I hear Disney and it is like my ears suddenly turn into a dog's ears.![]()
You guys are always good for a laugh!!! The Kinko's story is too much!![]()
I look like a Disney dork on a regular basis. You're in good company here!

Ok, I must sound dumb but what is a pin code?
