A pin code is a special code that allows the recipient to receive discounted room rates/travel packages at the Walt Disney World Resort. (They're highly coveted and sort of the "golden ticket"! ;) )

Unless you're hoping for that other "golden ticket" :rotfl2:

Would you mind explaining the story behind your tag? :flower3: ("I just couldn't believe some stranger actually leaned over and bit my necklace.") I'm gonna guess it had something to do with a candy necklace...

I just went to visit the Mickey Moms Club website that was recently opened...and this was what I found!:scared1:

Mickey Moms Club Members Only!
Sorry, you've reached the members-only Mickey Moms Club. Entry is restricted to members who qualified through application for the Walt Disney World® Moms Panel. Though new membership is currently closed, registration will open to the public in the future. Stay tuned!

Meanwhile, you have successfully logged in to Walt Disney World.
=====================================================

I know I was there last week, but now there isn't even a spot to login for the current members...:confused3

I guess they may have to tweak membership a bit, but I didn't expect anything like this...:sad1:

Hmmmm... That's weird! I just checked and managed to enter without any problems. (I accessed the site using the link in our introductory e-mail.)

LOL no it actually wasn't a candy necklace. That's what made it so bizarre! I was at Walmart wearing this cheapo necklace my daughter bought for me from a gumball machine. It was just this heart shaped stone with some black string through it. But you know, it was a present, so that made it special. :lovestruc

This very odd woman stopped me and asked if the necklace was hematite. I told her I really didn't have a clue. She went on and on for about 5 minutes, about how special and unique the necklace was. We kept trying to politely walk away, but she really wasn't taking the hint. Finally she says, "I know how to figure out if it's hematite!" and before I knew what was happening, she leaned over and bit the necklace. My daughter and I freaked out.

We finally got away from her and we both just died laughing. It was the strangest thing. I realized when I got home that she'd chipped the necklace too.

So now it's our "code" for anyone/anything weird. "I think it's hematite!!" :rotfl2:

how are the Round 2ers doing? I did submit my Round 2 responses and I must say, I had trouble with question #3. It's not that I didn't have the content...there was no way I could fit my first and second choice of topics into 100 words...the lowest word count I could achieve was 116. Anything less would leave the judges wondering how I made it through round 1! I was really hoping to use my first topic, but hopefully the third choice is the charm! Overall, I'm satisfied and anxiously await the news with the rest of you for the next round.

Good luck to you all!

Sooooo.... Would it be utterly inappropriate to ask what the three questions are? :flower3: We know they can't be exactly the same as last year's, because one of them ("Tell us what your favorite vacation tip is for visiting Walt Disney World Resort.") already was asked in the first round.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who'd like to know, but -- obviously -- I'll understand if you're uncomfortable revealing them. ('Just trying to embrace my "Scoopy" reputation, 'ya know?? ;) )

:scared: It's a crazy, craaaaaaazy world! And, I'm thinking she was in serious violation of your personal space! ::yes:: (EWW!)

Edited to Add: Thanks for the late-night laugh, btw. :teeth:

You're welcome! It's one of those stories that never gets old for us. We laugh hysterically whenever we remember it.

I still have the necklace.......... but I never wear it! :lmao:

I just finished my round 2 application. It took me forever to finalize my responses and get them down to 100 words. I am so nervous. I don't know how many they choose for round 2. Like all of you, I love all things Disney. It would be great to be chosen. I actually turned down the trip to Disney my DH offered me as my father has been very sick (cancer) and I didn't think it was a good time to go. Maybe I will be chosen and he will be feeling well enough to go with me...okay I am getting a little ahead of myself. Anyhow I am very honored and super excited.

very strange...I went back to my intro email and got in fine...:confused3

oh well...my disney accts are all acting up this week...:badpc:

I'm just happy it works again...:cheer2:

Not at all :

What or how do you celebrate at WDW Resort?
How do you help others plan their WDW vacations?
Tell us your best memory from your last WDW vacation

As I told you, I was very honest and relaxed answering them 30 minutes after I received the message. Have no idea the unique opportunity it was to be on 2nd round. BTW does anyone know how many people made it through the next phase??

"Sophia from Lima" is that you?? How amazingly cool is that?!!!:goodvibes

Congrats on making it to round two. Felicitaciones!!:woohoo:

Also, I'm so very glad to hear that your trip went well. We need details...photos...etc.!! :rolleyes1

-Bret

p.s. not annoying at all. We love getting questions.;)

Yes Bret it´s me...great to hear from you again. Long time no talking hahaha! :rotfl:

Can you believe I´m on the 2nd round to the Moms Panel...it´s a dream come true!!!

My trip was far beyond my dreams and as I told you before it was greatly due to the terrific advices I got from the Moms Panel and information I found at some great web pages you recommended me as AllEarsnet...I loved them!

You may not know, but there is a complete lack of information outside USA on everything related to WDW. Even the travel agencies give you very poor and general information. And that is one of the reasons I decided to enter the contest for the Moms Panel this year. I really look forward to help people that come from other countries to find the most accurate information and caring advice, like the ones I received from you guys!!

I tried to paste a couple of pictures but I couldn´t...could anyone enlighten me please??? Thanks!!!

Ahhh! That first question totally makes since, given Disney's new "What Will You Celebrate?" promotion.

Press Release from wdwnews.com: "In 2009, Come to a Disney Park on Your Birthday and Get In Free! A Disney ‘First’ Launches ‘Celebration Vacation’ Travel Trend"

I recognize the third question from last year. The second question is new, though... (replacing "Tell us what part of Walt Disney World® Resort you would most recommend a family visit and why?").

Thanks for posting the details! :flower3: And, best wishes as you continue the application process!

Congratulations Round 2 Hopefuls:

I believe you need at least 10 posts before the DISboards will allow you post links (and photos).

Once you meet the quota, here's a link to a helpful thread, which should walk you through the process: Placing a picture in my signature
(Although the title specifies uploading pictures to your signature, I've used the same principals for uploading pictures to my posts.)

This link came from the larger thread, "Tech Board FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - check here for a quick answer," which also provides links to tutorials about resizing photographs, etc.

In short:
-You first have to upload your images to a web site (something like Photobucket or the DISboards' photos page).**
-Then cut-and-paste a link to that location into your post. (Place it between the brackets
)
-Hint: I generally right-click the online image I've chosen, then I select the option "Copy Link Location." (I'm then ready to paste the address I just lifted between the
brackets...)

**You'll have to shrink the images to an acceptable resolution. (The linked DISboards tutorial should provide those details.)

'Hope this helps. (I know! I know! ...It might sound a bit confusing, but -- after a few attempts -- you'll be a wiz! ;) )

wow, what tough questions for round 2! good luck to all of you!!! :thumbsup2

While disappointed, i had some distraction- i've been helping a friend plan her Dec trip (she is going 27-jan 2- ouch!).....so she definitely needs help since they are going in peak season and she is taking a 5yo, 18mos and 6mos. I put together park hours for her and a schedule/chart with recommended parks, meals and fireworks/parades to see each day based on best park days, EMH etc. I've helped so many friends plan that I just re-use the spreadsheets over and over. She probably thinks i am nuts when she opened her 'spreadsheet' and saw the detail. :rotfl: :lmao: She emailed back and said how i should start my own website to help folks plan.....i just giggled knowing i am only one of thousands of DIS'rs that plan this intently and passionately for their friends and family and that those websites all exist already. ;) :rotfl2:

Hi All, I didn't make it in this year. Not that I thought I would (what are the odds, two years in a row). I did see that some of you made it through again. CONGRATS! Actually, I didn't even realize the e-mails went out. I've been dealing with "MAMA DRAMA" at school.

Apparently, my DD 7 got up at lunch and moved seats (doesn't like one of the little girls who sat at the same table. This girl is sassy to DD so I've instructed her to "walk away" instead of being sassy back. She said nothing, just quietly moved. I told her this can be interpreted as rude and not to do it again, but come on she doesn't like this girls sassy talk. Even as adults we encounter people we don't always want to deal with. Well, after school the mom of this girl jumped on my DD and told her never to talk to, play with, look at etc. to her daughter that there are plenty of other nice girls in the school for her to play with...... All because one of the lunch monitors (a fellow parent and teacher) told the mom my kid left the table and who knows what else she said. I, did my best to be the better person (after all this is a Catholic School) and took her ****. I than told DD that she was allowed to be her friend but she needed to make sure she thought of other's feelings before she said or did things. Since then the little girl came back to my DD and said I want to be your friend and my DD said sorry, they hugged and are playing again. Anyway can you believe this!
I still have not talked to the mom.

You know.... what Mom or parent for that matter has the right to go off on a child like that. I mean c'mon... grow up! Good for you for being the better and more mature parent.

THANKS A BUNCH SCOOPY!!! I will try to do my best to fulfill 10 posts soon :thumbsup2

BTW, any other lucky runner-ups? :cool1: Would die to know how many people get through 2nd round. As many of you said, I believe they have opted to chose people from different target niches (families, single parents, dads, other countries, special needs) in order to make the most complete panel.

But I still think the 1st and most special ingredient is PASSION 4 DISNEY. And you feel that in every single member of the current Moms Panel!! The thing is that sometimes is very difficult to express it in the correct words...not to mention ONLY 100!!
