The panel for 2009 has been getting together to meet via Facebook. When we have some solid training agenda items we will pass them along.

Frankly, I think most of us are in shock still.

Hey all you wonderfully lucky panelists!!! Not that luck is all it is... I know how smart you are too

I took a break for a little while, licking my wounds, and now can genuinely say how very happy I am for each of you. You're going to do a fantastic job, make incredible memories and even more incredible friendships.. I wish you all the very VERY best in the year to come. Can't wait to "meet" you all on the board!

And to all the others out there, like me, who are disappointed, I feel for ya. I'm feeling much better now, looking at it as "not meant to be" at this point. But, like many of you said.. I only made round 1 last year, I made round 2 this year... NEXT year I should hopefully at least get an interview. Until then I'll be reading along and living vicariously through the new panel, and of course I'll be

So..... it's been quiet here today......

Sorry...it's been a week from you know where with work, and of course the exciting news - plus, I'm still not feeling well (but I'm getting better). I've been in bed early every night this week which makes the days pretty short. I really want to be 100% by 12/5.

Anyway, wanted to let you know that behind the scenes, I'm happy to report the sweet 16 (as Bret called us) have been in touch with the help of Laura. Looks like we have a very diversified group, including one grandma this year!

Some of us have travel arrangements secured...others are pending...and others won't hear until next week.

Laura has already sent us a couple fun emails and I can tell she is just as thrilled as the rest of us! She mentioned she is putting the final touches on our itinerary which will include training with some Disney magic sprinkled on top.

This weekend I need to focus on purchasing a new camera...anyone have one they highly recommend? Here are my requirements:

- small, would prefer to be able to slip in in my pocket at times
- very easy to use
- uses rechargeable batteries
- burst feature (where you can take several pics with one click
- good with action and night pics
- uses SD card (because I have a couple extra and that's what my other camera used!)

I think that's it. So if you have a camera that meets the above specs, please let me know! Thanks!

Hi all, I haven't posted on this thread in about a year, I made it to round 2 last year for the first Moms Panel. I have read the thread over the past year to keep up with things. First of all, congratulations to the new 2009 Moms Panel, especially those that almost made it last year and then made it this year!!! That is awesome, gives hope to the rest of us!

As for this email, yes, I got it today. It mentioned something about a small group getting it, I wondered how small that group actually is. The subject of the email was Moms Panel Finalists, we need you, or something like that, definitely started with Moms Panel Finalists, so maybe only those that made it to round 2 either last year or this year got it? Anyway, when I have a couple minutes to think (getting ready for my solo trip to DL in a few days!) I am going to open the link in the email.

Current Moms . . . I have a random question that I've been wondering about -when planning our recent trip a several weeks ago I noticed that the dates that once appeared after the question askers name disappeared, and I was wondering why? It's really not important, but just something I noticed and was curious about . . .

I am also wondering if any of you will be travelling to Disney as well during the new panels training? That would be fun . . . I've enjoyed reading through everyone's excitement here. Naturally I am sad I am not destined to be one of the moms this go around, but I hope that I will have the opportunity to apply again next year.

I know I applied both years and didn't make it past the first round either year, and I didn't get the e-mail, so maybe it is just for those getting to the 2nd round and above....

Yep, I remember, that doesn't seem like a year ago, it's been a fast year! I got an AP last year and I have a Rapid Rewards award for a free rt flight from Southwest that needs to be used by the end of this year, so since my DL AP expires 11/16, I'm fitting in a quick and relatively cheap trip all by myself! I have a friend that lives out there, so I will be meeting up with her.

Hey guys! I didn't know this thread existed as I "camp out" on the Camping and Dining threads most of the time...I did make the panel.

I've read all 223 pages on this thread! And have especially enjoyed getting to "know" those who I'll meet in a few weeks.

But most importantly, I am in AWE of those of you who did not make it to future rounds and yet, cheered your fellow dissers on. (I didn't tell many of my friends I had applied because I didn't want to have to explain if I didn't make it)....Boy, it would have been great to have this cheering section. It was heart-warming to read this thread from the beginning, knowing the end, and see your commraderie.

Congratulations to my fellow panelists and I look forward to meeting you, especially Diane. Thank you for letting me know y'all were chatting.
