I was there during Faye too, we stayed at POR from 14th to 28th August, Faye was actually good as it cleared the parks

How funny! We were at POR for one night (decided to add a day and there was no DVC availability), then on to VWL, then to the GF. Aug 16-28, I believe?

We got some very funny pictures in the FLOOD outside MK leading up to the monorail.

I am so, so sorry to all of you who have not made it on the panel. You guys are truly awesome, and I know if the panel was bigger, you all would have been there.

I am IN! I got the call at 3 o'clock on the dot, but they asked me not to post until after 6 - and I was already in work then. I just got home and came here right away. I'm so thrilled, and so sad for all of you who did not. It's really a bittersweet moment.

Hello everyone! Congratulations to all of the panelists, you've been blessed

Unfortunately, I received the heartbreaking news yesterday that I was not one of the lucky ones. This makes 2 years in a row for me. In '08 I made it to the semi-finals, '09 was a finalist...so...third time is a charm, right?!?!

I have put on a brave face for everyone...told the kids that "sometimes dreams don't come true, but you can't give up", "everything happens for a reason", etc. All I really wanted to do last night was lock myself in my room and mourn the postponement of my dreams

I've done a lot of thinking about this, and debated whether to try again next year. I spoke with Laura, who was wonderful and she was explaining that there are about the 4-5 panelists who were finalists last year. I know that there were a couple phone questions I could have answered better if I wasn't so nervous/excited...and now I'll have the advantage of having been through this if I do try again.

Today, I'm attempting to look at the bright side. I was a bit leery of leaving in a month for 4 days. Would you believe that as the mom of 5 kids, they haven't really been without me overnight? My 4 year old, Kassia, is very much a Mommy's girl. I have the gift of having my little girl home with me for the next year before she heads off to school. This way, I'll have tons of time to spend my days with my 4 year old...a once-in-a-lifetime chance that I can't ever get back. I'm trying to make myself feel better, here

Either way, I know I'm an asset to the many people that I help plan Disney vacations for...and that won't change. In the meantime, I have a trip for 19 of us coming up in April that I need to work on.

Oh well...I made it to the top 31 out of 20,000 people and THAT is something to be proud of, right?!

Hi checking in to say it's a no go for me this year, which was exactly what I was expecting.

What I was not expecting was to feel as good as I did when I hung up from the "bad news" call. I truly feel wonderful about the whole process! I was so flattered to have made it so far, and it's just made me want to get more involved with my blogging and participating in the boards.

And in 2009, I am looking forward to moving within just a few minutes' drive of WDW. We're waiting on one career thing to fall into place, and hoping to make the move within the next few months.

Congratulations to the finalists who made it! Woo-hoo!

What a small world We went to MK on the day Faye was meant to arrive and we had it almost to ourselves, it was fantastic

if you're on the moms panel, i can't IMAGINE there'd BE a question that you couldn't answer!

Speaking of questions, what types do they ask in the phone interviews. Just wondering what to expect for next year; we have a year to study up!

I know exactly how you feel I had been interviewed in 2007, but didn't make it past round 2 this year. Sometimes its hard to explain to your family how disappointed you feel In my case, the rest of the family isn't quite the Disney geek I am (although the kids are catching up!), so I'm not sure they understood quite what the loss was for me.

I can tell you it does get better, that the disappointment does lessen over time. And, maybe next year will the "3rd time is the Charm" year for both of us (and a few others who may be in the same boat as us!)

Maybe, its time for a consolation trip

Me too. I even said that when I was told I didn't make it. I think I shocked the person on the other end (I cant remember her name )when I said that. I am truly happy for the ones who did make it. Yes, I would have liked to have made it to the Panel, but I did make it to the final 31 I would take those odds at the casino . Congratulations again to everyone I know that yall are going to be great.

You might have heard me in Tinley...I was pretty loud Anyways I grew up in Evergreen Park and went to EPHS. We moved to Oak Lawn in '98.
