ADR System Upgrade - History

I recently wrote to Disney asking about making ADRs, park hours, Pirate and Princess Parties and the 2009 What Will You Celebrate theme. Here is a copy of my email and their response:

Dear Lisa,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Due to system enhancements we are only able to book any dine
reservations from now through March 22, 2009. We will have our full 180
day availability beginning December 22, 2008. The exceptions are Chef
Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Victoria and Albert's, these
locations will continue to book 180 days out.

Although it is not currently possible for dining arrangements to be made
online, guests are welcome to call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463), to book
reservations for most of our dining experiences.

Theme park operating schedules for the period of your upcoming visit
have not yet been determined or released. Operating hours are usually
available up to 180 days in advance. We encourage you to visit the
following address on our Web site, closer to your actual arrival, to
obtain updated operating hours information.

We will be traveling to Walt Disney World May 28, 2009 through June 6,
2009. I want to try and make my dining reservations as soon as possible
but it's my understanding that I can't do that yet.

Do you have any idea when I can start making my dining reservations?

When will the May and June park hours be posted? That information will
GREATLY affect my dining reservations.

Also, I was informed by a castmember that there will be Pirate and
Princess Parties through early June, 2009. But, I can't find the
information on the website. We've never been and would love to treat
our birthday boy (who will turn 12 just before we arrive) and celebrate
our 25th wedding anniversary (which will happen while we are there)
while at Walt Disney World and what better way but at a Pirate and
Princess Party.

I have another question that I am not sure anyone can answer
yet.....Will you guys still give away dreams and stays in the castle
suite during 2009? We have gone to Walt Disney World twice during the
Year(s) of a Million Dreams and didn't receive not one dream. I want
another shot at it!

As much as I would LOVE it to be the 22nd, I agree with Tricia's recent update to page one about being suspect of the info we are getting from Disney. Hopefully DisneyDine will weight in with any new information.

You know, if the launch is the 22nd you would think that CM training would have already begun or at least be scheduled. The next person who needs to call should ask the CM they talk to if they have been scheduled for training yet and see how they answer that one. The saga continues..

Will I be able to make tour ressies for March 23rd whenever they open bookings past 3/22? I've never had to make a tour ressie before and don't want to miss out. It's my understanding that these are tied to the ADR system.

(From what it sounds like though the training should only last about a week.) Last week we were told it could be mid to late January before the new system was ready but there was no word on moving the booking window further to April 22nd. I feel like I'm almost as "in the dark" as you all are. I'll keep you posted though.

Hi all. A club level IPO CM told me today that it would not be open till at least the 1st week of January and maybe not until the last week of February.

DH and I are booked for a trip March 23rd - 27th for our 10th anniversary!! Originally we we were booked LVC but the deal that was released yesterday saved us A LOT if we switched to the a non-club level theme park view room with the platinum package.

Club level gave us the services of the Intinerary Planning office as does the platinum package. I gave the IPO all my dining info awhile ago. Now that we have the platinum package I'm going to add a few more because it includes deluxe dining.

I'm wondering about booking my dining through IPO. The women I spoke to a few weeks ago said that they were told that EVERYONE would be there bright and early the day the new system is up all the reservations would be made.

I'm just concerned that we won't get what we want!

Does anyone have any experience with IPO?!

I can't believe my luck....my 180 day window is on the same day the ADR system is up and running for dates past 3/22. I'm going to have some grumpy, overwhelmed and frustrated CM's taking my ADR's because everybody who is going in April. May, June and the last week of March is going to be calling on the same day! How did I get so lucky?

I need some major pixie dust to help me get what I want!

One word of caution - December 22 is NOT a definite date. You may well find yourself waiting into January.
