ADR System Upgrade - History

I think you've got that right!

I think Tricia meant that some folks can be making ADR's for around May 15th, if their check-in date is, say, May 5th. They could've called starting yesterday, if they're staying onsite, for the +10.

ok thanks-makes more sense, so I stick with my original 11/17th and can book the week (well only crt and cm until the new system is up)

Might want to double check. Our check in date is May 7, so we should have been able to make our 180 day reservations starting tomorrow, but we made them over a week ago. When we called they said they were taking the 3 reservations until sometime in June. We have friends going in early June and they also already booked there reservations for CRT and CM as well. Unless we just got lucky. Might want to at least try and call?

Hi Everyone,

I just thought I'd share some news that I got tonight...actually, hoping that Tricia or DisneyDine would know if there's any truth to it.

I called tonight to change my ressies (vacation) to benefit from the new offer. First off, I have to brag on my savings.

Previously had 8 day MYW + dining and 3 day Park Hopper for 2792. I called tonight to have them credit my account for the new buy 4 get 3 deal and check it out.

I now have 8 days total (first one not on plan) but 7 days MYW + dining + 7day Park Hopper NO EXPIRATION! (again, these are the same dates, just tweaked a few things) for 2236! Savings of 560! I'm psyched.

On to the news, when I was speakin with my castmember...by the way, the greatest CM I've ever spoken with at Disney (Thanks AnnaBeth), she asked me if I had made my ADRs yet. When I told her that I couldnt' because they werent accepting ressies, she said that in a few days they would be. She then corrected herself and said a couple of weeks but that online would be available too.

I'm not sure about the truths, but wanted to share the conversation because it was such a great conversation. She even talked to my son while she was waiting for her computer to respond. She had a 2 minute conversation pretending to be Minnie Mouse. Asked him if he was being a good boy and told him to tell his mommy he loved her. It was precious.

Aaaahh, the magic of Disney.

I just called for ADR's and they told me I had to wait until my 180 days-11/17 to book CRT and CM....you definately got lucky-good for you:cheer2: he also told me pretty much what is being stated here that their sytem upgrade should be complete in late December but check back early to mid to check on progress...

Hi Everyone,

It isn't impossible that they'd launch the online at the same time or shortly after.

I do think that it'll be mid December at the earliest for the launch though. DisneyDine posted on 11/4 that they got their official training email and those training sessions are scheduled for the end of November and the first week of December.

So glad to hear though that you had a magical CM - that's fantastic!

No matter how much testing they've done, in my opinion they'd be bonkers to unleash a totally new system that CMs have only just been trained on, plus open up an extra three months worth of booking window, AND activate online bookings all on the same day. No amount of testing could stress test the new system under that kind of load.

I they do try it, I predict it'll all end in tears! :rolleyes1

Andre

and was told that I could only book Chef Mickeys, V&A or CRT for May trip and I couldn't make a ressie for anything else until after 21st December as they are upgrading their system!

Anyone else had this problem?

I agree, both for CM's and guests. Hopefully they give at least a week for things to settle a bit before they release the online. (In my opinion a month or two would be even better)

I merged this into the sticky thread about the ADR system. All of the most current information will be in the first post, so you can get updated as soon as there are any changes.

I called for my ADRs for May 2 & May 3 at CM and CRT on Wednesday and got them both. I was told that I should call back on November 21st for the rest of my ADRs. I asked about BBB reservation too and they told me I have to wait for that until 11/21 also.

Hi, I called yesterday to see if I could go ahead and book Chef Mickey since that is the only restaurant that is available for me to book for our May trip. The CM said I could book my ADRs on Monday. She meant I can book just Chef Mickey on Monday right? I thought I couldn't book anything else, unless I was going to CRT or V&A, until late Dec. Then I called the guest info phone line to see if they knew when May hours would be posted online. I told the CM I just wanted to know the hours so I can start planning my ADRs. She said "Oh well you can book those Monday" I thought I had it all straight in my head and then they confuse me.

Oh yeah our dates are May 9-16 2009

Yeah I thought it was only CM and a few other places that were taking ADR's at the mo! I'm a bit confused by it all!!! Its worth a shot if they allow you to book them!

We can book Chef Mickey's on Wednesday, I will be asking them about when we can book the others. I would love to know what they tell you on Monday.

You will be able to book Chef Mickey, Victoria & Albert's and CRT on Monday. As of right now May is supposed to open towards the end of December.

Keep your eye on the first post of this thread for the latest updates. :goodvibes

I've read a rumour that the new system will only be available in the States. Is there likely to be any truth in that, do you think?

Does anybody have an answer to this?

Thanks for helping me out. I just got off the phone with a CM. She said the same thing ya'll did. I can book Chef Mickey and CRT tomorrow (V&A if I wanted it) She said that the new system would be much more efficient for us and them. She said they will be able to put in a range of dates and the restaurants and times available will come up for each day. Right now they have to put in each day and restaurant individually to find the ADR and it means longer calls and more wait times. I hope that makes sense.

Anyway she told me to call at the end of the month to make sure that they haven't added more dates that can be booked because of maybe the launch date being pushed back again. She said if I call once a week, that I shouldn't miss when it is launched. But she did say mid Dec. is what it looks like right now unless there is another set back. Just wanted to share the info!!:woohoo:

Well the current system is only available in the states insofar as there is only a US telephone number for it - but you can call in and book from anywhere in the world, of course. I see no reason for that to be changed.

I would have hoped that in a total re-design, the software development people will have taken international guests into account. Currently, I think there are still some parts of the highly fragmented Disney online system which still insist on validating telephone numbers into (3) (3) (4) groups. The people who designed those forms need to get out more, especially beyond the US borders... :)
