Who knew a thread title could be so triggering? There’s a thread on the community board titled something along the lines of “Are your neighbors older, younger or about the same age as yourself?”. Now, my kids always tease me that this is a boring neighborhood for older people and families and that is pretty accurate. The thread title made me stop and think though that when we moved in 23 years ago, there were a lot of older retired people on our block. Now of my immediate neighbors, it’s mostly younger families. The retired couple who used to live next door sold a couple of months ago to a nice younger guy who’s been updating the house. Two of the neighbors regularly ask if I need help with my garbage bins or when it snows. I’m now the older person. 👵Lol.
Ours is mostly elderly folks. A youngish family had lived next door. I was worried about who might move in. The sweetest 80 something year old moved in. He golfs every day and is a cool fella. I'm going to be miserable when all my sweet old neighbors start passing. We have the BIGGEST redneck on the PLANET behind us. He inherited his house and I know will never leave. Ever. Lol

What's everyone up to today? I'm finishing cleaning. Ugh, you never realize how much there is until you know someone's coming over!

For those that don't know, I'm a SAHM and I homeschool DD11. Fun times! (seriously). :)
Finally have been able to take a break today. It has been a busy work day. Gonna be a busy night catching up on the posts 🤓

I gave up trying to read all the comments after the first day or two!

Packing for vacation today.

Random factoid from me today - Gregg Popovich coached Div III basketball for 8 years at my DD's college (before she was even born) and in an interview with the college paper a couple of years ago said he was still a D3 coach at heart.

I don't watch any cooking shows, dating shows, trials, most reality TV. I do watch The Amazing Race to see the neat destinations, and DVR the Voice just to see the singing parts.

Does anyone here watch Tournament of Champions on Food Network? The finally was last night. It was SO GOOD. Best cooking competition show ever. Hands down.

Yesss! We love that show! We missed the last few episodes while on vacation but I'm looking forward to catching up tonight.

An unrelated, totally sidebar, doesn't apply to anyone else I don't think, VENT. My DD uses an online homeschool program for some of her work. Here it is ALMOST the end of the year and the jerk creator took away the parent's ability to assign courses. AND all progress has been lost. Thankfully, I don't need a report of progress from their system, for my state, but I am livid. She's now unenrolled and I will take over all coursework for the remainder of the school year. I don't mind that part, but what happened to being professional and honorable? This is an organization that has many thousands of users. It is not a little company or a mom and pop.

Ok, I feel better venting. Thank you :D

We were part of an online charter school for homeschooling and haaaaated it. I'm so glad we switched to traditional homeschool for this year. It's been so much nicer. We found an online group that does a Disney meet up that we're joining this year. I'm really excited.

speaking of juries-the jury in the lori vallow case has been selected and opening arguments start today. our local news stations cover idaho so we've been watching this unfold since day one. i'm curious to learn what chad's wife died from-her autopsy after they exhumed her has remained sealed (though it's rumored to be asphyxia). i'm wondering if his adult kids are going to continue to stick by him as more information is revealed (he had lori's 2 murdered children buried in his backyard-how do you excuse that behavior from your parent?) it's going to be a busy time for the idaho courts-lori is up first, her husband chad will likely be some time later in the year, and kohberger's (university of idaho student killings) preliminary trial is in june.

it's reported that newly divorced cynthia will make a couple of return appearances as well as KIM ZOLCIAK BIERMANN::yes::🍸

I haven't been following that whole situation too much but may need to get a little more invested in the details....

Cynthia AND Kim? Well, glad Cynthia is divorced from Mike. Always felt like he was a user. Felt like she got wooed in and instantly grew blinders. I don't think Mike is marriage material and I really didn't care for the way he acted around his daughters or Cynthia's. I ASSUME Kim is making an appearance because she needs the money :rotfl2:

We literally live down the street from one of the ladies on the show for RHOA - couldn't tell you her name - cuz I don't watch it ... :)

Well, if you can describe her or have a picture of the house, I could probably figure it out.....although those ladies do tend to move quite often. Several of them though are living in very unique homes. Although Kenya's house isn't the biggest, it's my favorite. Very interesting modern architecture. Cynthia's house on the lake is also a fav. Just seems very relaxing. Sheree's house is just too big and flashy for my taste. Kandi's house is nice but again, too big for me but she has so many extended family members and business partners that I am sure she uses most of her house. I could go on.....but, you have NO IDEA who I am talking about :rotfl:

No spoilers--I promise. But, it is a fantastic finale!! We just love the show because it is the only cooking competition show (that I know of) that uses a blind tasting. I always feel like the other food competition shows have some form of bias especially given so many of the chefs (and judges) are friends. We also appreciate that the "randomizer" makes it unpredictable for the chefs so there is no way to practice or research ahead of time.

I stole the word (and Disney lifestyle choice) from Molly (formerly at https://allears.net/ and now with her own biz at https://www.youtube.com/c/MammothClub_ ).

At Toppolinos - I could go either way as the Breakfast / Dinner experiences are different in that Breakfast is all about the Character Meets and Dinner is about a higher-end dinner experience. I could argue there may be better for both types of experiences, but the quality and consistency is pretty solid.
But some of my others are Muppet Vision, the PeopleMover, and all of the country films in Epcot.

Molly is the best. I’m so happy that she has her own channel now.
Molly fan here too!👍🏼 Not to be mean but Quincy is a downgrade from Molly😐 We also love Aj aka Disneyfoodblog (DFB) and Heather aka Diningindisney for the west coast!

People Mover is my favorite ride at MK! If they let me I would stay on for an hour or so (especially during sunset!) just to hang out.

Now I might have to put Topps on our list to try. Thanks for pointing out the different experience between the 2 meals👍🏼

I confess......I love me some "reality" tv. Besides RHOA, I watch Survivor, Amazing Race, Big Brother, many of the Alaska shows. On HGTV, I do enjoy House Hunters (and its many iterations), Home Town, Unsellable Houses, Love It or List It, and the occasional Lottery Dream Home. I am very aware that the House Hunters are all staged. They have already bought one of the three houses before taping and the other two are just houses they "might" have considered. BUT.....I still enjoy watching.

On to scripted TV, I am so excited for the next season of The Gilded Age. That show is SO GOOD!!!! The acting, the storylines, the set design, and the costumes are nothing short of exquisite. Also watch City on a Hill, Godfather of Harlem, American Rust, and.....many others that I can't recall at the moment.

Also a HUGE Molly fan :goodvibes Interestingly, I just discovered her videos on AE a few months before her departure. I love her new channel on YT. I even watch some of her Mammoth Club Streams with Max and Alan. Watching her "Secrets" videos is like getting a VIP tour for free at home in your jammies. My favorite videos however are the Rock Paper Scissors Winner Picks Dinner videos. My one complaint.....I do wish Alan would stop wearing tank tops on camera. Not a fan. And, doesn't seem to quite fit Molly's brand. He should stick to the button up shirts especially those with a Disney (or Universal) print.

Love her "fiddle faddle" "patient pants" "luxuriate" and "park psa" bits. She is so relatable.

I love all of the versions of House Hunters, even though yes it’s scripted and staged. I have even been known to watch a British show called Location Location Location that has a similar premise but it’s a bit less staged, even though I have no plans to move to the UK.

I avidly follow a couple of YouTube channels devoted to interior design. One of them had Dorinda’s house from RHONY a while back. I’m assuming it maybe was her weekend house? The house was nice although I would tone down some of her choices. The channel is called Homeworthy. I like it because they have everything from tiny studio apartments to grand Newport mansions. Some are DIY and some are done by professionals.

There are absolutely rides at each park that I don’t hit up every visit at this point, and then those rides that the wait has to be fairly short for me to ride. I think every long time visitor gets to a point where they have their own must-rides or must see shows. For me, some of them are typical like Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Living with the Land, Spaceship Earth and Haunted Mansion. But some of my others are Muppet Vision, the PeopleMover, and all of the country films in Epcot.

Muppet*Vision is also a must-see for me! Not stopping by would be distinctly unpatriotic. I would say PeopleMover too but I skipped it the last few times :guilty:.

As long as they don't have white fridges ....

Molly used to work as a VIP tour guide at WDW (I believe after her college program at Primeval Whirl), so that definitely explains her expertise of the parks. I love Molly too. She's hilarious.

We've always done traditional homeschool since first grade. She went to a private academy for K. She's finishing 5th right now. I had surgery in Jan and figured for the last few months she could do a few independent lessons. I won't do that kind of independent work again for sure.

Glad to see another homeschool mama!!

I like Molly's new video's because they're more honest and more open. What I don't like about them is that they are so so long! There's something to be said about editing about half of it out and then splitting it into two distinct episodes. Each video after creating Mammoth Club are 45 minutes to an hour. I don't have that kind of attention span.
