Adding day after use of ticket???

I know or have heard that you can add "park hopper" option to ticket after use and after being in parks if you decide if would be useful and would like to have it by going to counter and paying for such.

I'm debating about whether I will need an additional day on my ticket package due to leaving (!!!!) "the world" for Harry Potter one day. If we decide that will want to stop into a park after we return, would it be possible to add a day to our package after we have used several days already? We would be staying on site and convenient to use but may want to come back and crash that night anyway.

For example, we may purchase a 5 day hopper and may want to upgrade to the 6 day sometime during our trip. I realize the price difference is negligible to some ($43 or so for family of 4) but would like to save that if we are not going to use it all on the Universal Studios day.

You will need to add the day before "day #5" of ticket usage ends.

I have a similar situation, I called Disney and asked and they said yes, you can just add a day on during the duration of the ticket.

Just don't forget to add the day before your last day is over. My friend forgot to add an extra day on and ended up having to buy a one day ticket.
