?? about NWA World Perks Ticket Purchase

I have accumulated enough miles for a free ticket for one of us this November. But I've never done this before.

*Can I do this on line while I'm purchasing my other tickets?
*If yes, how do I do it?
*Is there anything else I need to know about it?
*Would I be better off calling NWA?
*Can I still have on line check in if I do it over the phone?

As you can see I am air travel illiterate! Thanks for any info!

I think you need to call NWA.

Hi,

spend some time on the NWA website and familiarize youself with it.

You can easily look up your times and dates and see if there is a award ticket available for your dates once you get the hang of the website.

You can make your award travel res and your purhcased tickets on their website, but I believe it has to be 2 separate reservations.

Yes you can still have online check even with phone reserv. I think you can earn some ff miles that way, too.

I would look for cheap fares for the rest of your family and then see about getting a free ticket on that flight for one person. Have you checked availability for reward travel for your desired dates? Don't forget that you can use NWA miles on Delta and Continental.

I've done it online before. But you will have to make a phone call to make sure you are all seated together.

First check availability of Worldperks free tickets for your dates using this site: http://usr.v7.com/wpaa/

After selecting your flight, book it online at the northwest website: http://www.nwa.com/travel/reser/index.html

Then book any seats that you will be paying for.

Finally, call Northwest, give them your confirmation #'s and ask for seats together.

You are looking for a "Y" in the "Y" column.

Y = Yes; FF Award seat available on this flight
N = No FF Award seat is available on this flight

F = First Class
C = Business Class
Y = Economy Class

All availabilities are for STANDARD NorthWest awards.
Check the NorthWest web site for RuleBuster availability.

Also keep in mind if the tickets you find for the rest of the family are reasonable you might not want to use freq. flyer miles for your ticket. Use the free ticket when the prices are high not when they are low. More value for your miles.
