? about golf cart rental

Just scored a great deal on free dining, and it will save us about 1,000. We switched from a trailer rental/campsite with dining to a cabin. Here's the question, not knowing where we will end up in a cabin, we were considering using some of the savings to get a golf cart. We don't want the hassle of driving off of property to secure a golf cart from another vendor, but we wanted to know if it is necessary to reserve golf carts before going. Depending on our location, we may not want one. In addition, we would probably only keep it for a portion of the trip. Thanks.

Yes, call now and set it up. There are times when the carts are all taken up so it would be good to be ahead of everybody else.

If you see one of today's entries in our April trip report, we had a poster (in a trailer) turn in his golf cart a few days early and got refunded for the unused days. So maybe you could go ahead and get it on day 1 and possibly do the same if you don't feel the need for it.

Are these carts rented for 24 hour periods? I was thinking that we might reserve it for our second day there (Sunday) and return it on Friday morning when we check out, since we will be going to the parks for the day and leaving in the evening. I'm assuming that would be a five day rental???? Do you have to pay for the golf cart when you reserve? Thanks everyone.

We feel having a golf cart gives you so much flexibility to go around the resort, saves time going place to place, and you can have fun driving around other loops and seeing the various ways people decorate their campers. We did it so often that we purchased our own cart and now bring it with us. Would never go to FW without it.

mmouse1239....Carts are not rented for 24hrs they are rented like cabins and campsites. FW guarantees pick up by 1pm and they are due back at 11am just like check in and check out. You are correct on if you pick up the cart on Sunday at 1pm it will be due back on Friday by 11am and that would be a 5 day rental. When you call and reserve the cart FW will ask for a CC to hold the reservation but not charge the card until your day of arrival or you can tell them that you will be paying by another method (like cash) on your arrival day and they won't charge the card that you reserve with. Like tiggerdad said make your reservation early as they tend to sell out a lot, you can always cancel 1 day prior to your reservation if you need to and won't be charged. Hope this helps...

On a holiday weekend, yes, it probably will be busy.

Cost is $59 + tax or about $65 for one day.
