Do have fun at the Ball!!
and be careful with that soup btw! DD is thinking of going vegetarian (she doesnt like vegetables!

) so she fell in love with this soup!

So rich - she begs me to make it every week - um not even once a month! That's some powerful soup!! (and shhhh, no one tell DD it has beer in it!!

)
anyway - here's a website where they add step by step PICTURES of the making of the Loaf!! Gotta luv that!
(and if you like that kind of reporting in baking, cooking - you must check out
http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/ At the top of her page is a list of categories - check out the lava molten chocolate cake - easy peasy - dd loves the smash potatoes!)
French Toast Loaf
(must sit overnight in Fridge to absorb the liquid into the bread)
Stale Bread
(not slices of sandwich bread, something heartier - Think Texas Toast - the recipe says 12 slices, you want to fill your Loaf Pan)
8 ounces butter
1 cup Brown Sugar combine with
1 tsp cinnamon
and set aside...
Batter
10 ounces heavy whipping cream (not half and half - heavier cream!)
4 large eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Mix and set aside...
Loaf Pan
Spray with Pam (line with parchment paper if you have it)
Bottom of pan lay 3 slices of the Texas Toast Stale Bread
Add 1/3 of the Brown Sugar/Cinnamon Mixture
Add 1/3 of that butter
Repeat this bread, sugar, butter layer 2 more times
Top with the remaining bread
Must PRESS DOWN hard to smoosh that bread to make it fit!
Now you have app 16 ounces of liquid that will make a custard type mixture, so you slowly pour it in the pan, stop, wait for absorption to occur. You'll need to take your time, and make sure to incorporate all the liquid!
you'll want to add some parchment paper to the top (NOT waxed paper, that would be bad!) Wrap with aluminum foil - place in Fridge overnight. Leave foil on to bake
The Next Day - Bake
(Place the loaf pan on a cookie sheet that you have lined with aluminum foil - just in case of spillage!)
Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 hour (160 degrees - the custard part) Then uncover the loaf and bake for app 15 more minutes
Let rest 5 min - (if you let it sit too long in the pan, it will stick, if you dont let the loaf rest - it will fall apart and be gloopy!)
Now, take a nice plate and flip out the loaf!!
Prepare to exercise at least an hour after eating a slice!!
