Here dh and the kids dont do the "water balls" and straws, no, they take off a bit of the paper off the top to expose straw, then they blow the bottom part at each other! :rotfl2:

Liesa- just catching up- AGAIN! :headache: I think I had to go back to your Wishes update. It doesn't get any better than watching Wishes with a Dole Whip in your hand! :goodvibes :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

You already had all those Disney wishes done o by day 3? I hope you saved some for the rest of your trip!

Great pics from the ball. I knew you would have the dresses ready in time. :goodvibes

Cynthia- Great update!!!! That rainbow was beautiful! It look like you all had a great time together- even BEFORE the alcohol was flowing! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Millie- The picture of the flowers is beautiful! Looks like you all had a blast hanging out!

Sandy- HEY!!!!! Nice to see you posting again!!!!!! :)

Great pictures, Leisa. The gowns turned out beautiful and you all looked terrific.

That is too funny about the "non-spit" ball. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thanks, Kathy!! I am so behind on everyone's threads, I'm trying to spend the morning getting caught up!! I'll be over to catch up on yours right after I get J up!!

I'm sure it felt like a bona fide spit ball in Josh's mouth; EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! :lmao:

We sure had a great time!! It was a wonderful evening, and although we do this every Thursday evening, there's just something magical about the balls!

I guess everyone thinks everyone else will clean up? :confused3

My kids are already bugging me about getting to the goodwill for costumes!

Awesome pix of the Ball and toooo funny about the paper wad !!!:rotfl2:

I think I've finally found a photo that will work! This one will be E A S Y!!!

We've done that for years! Always gets a laugh, but I don't any of us have ever landed a spit wad in someone's mouth before! :rotfl2:

That's what we do and I usually win!!! :thumbsup2

(Welcome back BTW!)

You must have good aim!! :thumbsup2

Sandy- HEY!!!!! Nice to see you posting again!!!!!! :)

That's what I'm doing all day... no really, all day. I'm taking the day off except for a bit of house cleaning. It's been a seriously CRAZY week, and I need to just sit! Then starting tomorrow it'll start all over again as I ramp up for the girls' HUGE birthday bash on Saturday. 20 moms and daughters are coming over for a super fancy and big shindig with lasagna, games, a sermonette by me, and prayers of blessing over them. SHeesh, I still have a TON to do!!! But for today, I'm sitting right here with my cozy laptop, enjoying the quiet house!

And J is coming up in about 20 minutes!

/
Man, how did I get 2 updates behind again?! :scared1:

The Epic DISmeet looks like it was a blast for all involved. I have to admit I got a little confused as to the timeline with all of the flash-forwards and flash-backs, but as long as everyone had fun it's ok. LOST confused me at times too. :rotfl2:

Great job with viewing Wishes, and making sure you got your Dole Whip! :drinking1 I really like the idea of your personal Wishes, too. :goodvibes

It's easy to do, man!!

We all had fun, and intentionally did it flashback style, just to confuse you, Mark! ;) I've never watched LOST, so can't help you there.

Dole Whips and Wishes just belong together, like fudge and ice cream, marshmallows and graham crackers, and Laverne and Shirley.

OK, we're onto Letter J!! I (that's letter I, not first person subjective case) was a bit tricky, so let's simmer down with an easy one. There just aren't too many things that start with letter J, so you won't have to think too hard on this one.

Where can this be found on WDW property? Remember it has to start with letter J!

And additionally, for your second point: What is something found nearby (yes, it really is a 2 minute walk or less this time!)?

I'm too lazy to clear out my PM box this time, and still so desperately behind on threads, so I need to make this easy- for both you and for me. The caveat is that I may not leave this one up very long- a couple days at most- so get those guesses in.... starting.....

NOW!

Great pictures of the ball, as always Liesa. Everyone always looks like they're really enjoying themselves at those.

For letter J, I will answer Jambo House. Those shield-looking things are the light fixtures in the lobby. And after a short walk downstairs, you can go to Jiko. (I almost posted "Jiko" as a pre-question guess, but didn't want to limit your options on a question.)

Does it have to be something we have a good chance of actually making? If so, I'll have to bring Micky rice krispy treats. If not, I'll bring an assortment of sushi from the California Grill.:rotfl:

Hmmm, interesting question... we all had to make ours, and it was all so yummy! But if the sky were the limit, I like your choices!! I love Mickey RCTs a lot! Please make mine chocolate covered- dark, of course!

Sushi is always a winner too!! Zumm!!!
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I like your thinking on this one! :thumbsup2 I'd bring a flatbread from Cali Grill, in that case. I had one there a year and a half ago and I'm still thinking about it! :rotfl:

We shared one too- how delectable it was!!! Paired with wine... WOW!!!!

Waaaay behind so I just skimmed through and now I'm hungry. Lots of yummy looking food popping up on here...well except for the SPAM :rolleyes1:lmao:

This is the foodnetwork now, I think! :lmao:

Oooh, nice thinking!!! I'll bring Mickey Bars

How would you get them down here?? Or is the next Disney potluck at your house??

They are even smoother with 2 blenders and crushed ice to start.

Believe it or not, I almost went to McDonalds earlier in the week to grab some, as I knew it'go through the blender better that way.

You ARE the battle commander!

:lmao:

I am pondering what I would bring to the Disney Pot luck and have decided the Juice from Boma and the multigrain cranberry rolls from CP!!! Also It's not bleeding chowder from Raglan Road , dessert would be the Raspberry merangue from Raglan Road !!! Actually I think I could write a book on what I'd bring:rotfl2::rotfl2:

All of that sounds delish! We could have an entire meal on those 3 alone!

I think I'd love to try the chowder most!!

Tye- dye cheesecake is what I would bring. :goodvibes

Done!!! I'll send my address...

Have fun at the Ball tonight.

And I would bring the Cheese Soup (LeCellier's receipe). :goodvibes

We did, we DID!!

Not tasted that one- but I think I saw the recipe on allears. I may make that soon. My mom just told me about a Potato/Cheesy/Beer soup that my dad made last night- and boy did it sound terrific!!!

:worship: I'm in awe of your sewing ability. I almost failed sewing when I had to take in middle school...the duck I was supposed to put together never quite looked the way it should have. :lmao: Consequently, I can't even sew a button.

Yum...that soup is SO good.

And, yes, Liesa...have a wonderful, magical time tonight!

I'm not a very good seamstress, really. We had a TON of help on these dresses and could NEVER have done it without a friend's help!! I'm going to get her a gift certificate to JoAnn's for all her help!!

Pictures are up :)

Do have fun at the Ball!! :dancer:

and be careful with that soup btw! DD is thinking of going vegetarian (she doesnt like vegetables! :rotfl:) so she fell in love with this soup! :scared1: So rich - she begs me to make it every week - um not even once a month! That's some powerful soup!! (and shhhh, no one tell DD it has beer in it!! :rotfl:)

anyway - here's a website where they add step by step PICTURES of the making of the Loaf!! Gotta luv that!
(and if you like that kind of reporting in baking, cooking - you must check out http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/ At the top of her page is a list of categories - check out the lava molten chocolate cake - easy peasy - dd loves the smash potatoes!)

French Toast Loaf
(must sit overnight in Fridge to absorb the liquid into the bread)

Stale Bread
(not slices of sandwich bread, something heartier - Think Texas Toast - the recipe says 12 slices, you want to fill your Loaf Pan)
8 ounces butter

1 cup Brown Sugar combine with
1 tsp cinnamon
and set aside...

Batter

10 ounces heavy whipping cream (not half and half - heavier cream!)
4 large eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Mix and set aside...

Loaf Pan
Spray with Pam (line with parchment paper if you have it)
Bottom of pan lay 3 slices of the Texas Toast Stale Bread
Add 1/3 of the Brown Sugar/Cinnamon Mixture
Add 1/3 of that butter
Repeat this bread, sugar, butter layer 2 more times
Top with the remaining bread
Must PRESS DOWN hard to smoosh that bread to make it fit!

Now you have app 16 ounces of liquid that will make a custard type mixture, so you slowly pour it in the pan, stop, wait for absorption to occur. You'll need to take your time, and make sure to incorporate all the liquid!

you'll want to add some parchment paper to the top (NOT waxed paper, that would be bad!) Wrap with aluminum foil - place in Fridge overnight. Leave foil on to bake

The Next Day - Bake

(Place the loaf pan on a cookie sheet that you have lined with aluminum foil - just in case of spillage!)
Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 hour (160 degrees - the custard part) Then uncover the loaf and bake for app 15 more minutes

Let rest 5 min - (if you let it sit too long in the pan, it will stick, if you dont let the loaf rest - it will fall apart and be gloopy!)
Now, take a nice plate and flip out the loaf!!

Prepare to exercise at least an hour after eating a slice!!

:worship::worship::worship: I'm always trying to think of good Saturday morning breakfasts! This is just the ticket!! Thanks!!

someone brought vanilla bean scones to the ball last night also from the Pioneer Woman website. I want to try those too!

Good luck! Have a ball at the Ball!:goodvibes

I'd like to bring Mickey Bars and hot fudge sundaes from Sci-Fi! And maybe a couple of Mickey waffles for good measure. Or some of that cinnamon rice and curried chicken from Tusker House.

MMMM..... all this fattening, rich stuff is making me hungry!! And I"m trying to be so careful!!

And believe it or not, the cinnamon rice and curry chx is what sounds best to me right now. I must try that someday!

My J guess is: Jambo House at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Jiko is very near there

Wow, this one seems easy enough for me to take a guess!!!

Jambo House and Jiko? First thought after Jambo was Lobby Check-in, but that doesn't begin with a J - then I remembered Jiko!!

Nice job on the gowns, Liesa! I'm sure everyone had a great time.

Guess for J: Jambo House in the AKL...and it's a short walk to Jiko.

I think I may have a very similar picture!

Lets see if I can hide my answer... its been awhile

J word - Jambo house, amazing things there - and a short walk to Jiko

LOVE :lovestruc the Pioneer woman's recipes - pictures and everything - she posted a recipe for potatoes - that you parboil (I microwave) then cut in half and smash (press down flat) add butter and salt and pepper bake till browned - AWESOME!!

oops sorry - this isnt Foodnetwork then? Have you checked out this fun site food network humor dot com? :rotfl2: they also started a website (look at the top, its red starred out here - kinda like "darn" you autocorrect - but be forewarned, when you read texts that were "auto correct" fail - they are HILARIOUS - seriously PIMP hilarity!
http://foodnetworkhumor.com/
top line says 1. pop hang over 2. THIS ONE - click on that one!!
http://damnyouautocorrect.com/

Love the ball update! Your kids look like they belong in that century - not just the costumes, but the body language in the dances! (well, at least what I've seen in movies:goodvibes) Andrew looks so much like Mike! The portraits of the girls are beautiful! I'm glad you all had so much fun - the straw incident was :lmao: I can't wait to see the Sci-Fi ball! Trekkies Unite!!!

My J guess is Jambo House and Jiko
