A little concerned; Am I the only one to get better than AAA using new code??

Hi everyone:

Below is the info regarding what I had, and what I was able to book this morning. I was just skimming the threads and it seems like I'm the only one who got more money off via the new code, above and beyond the AAA rate we had. Is it because I switched from a room-only AAA discount to the PACKAGE code, or what? I'm at work now (I work for a friend and she doesn't mind me being online for a few minutes), but I don't like the fact that I'm not seeing anyone else say they got a good deal with the new code, that already had a AAA discount like we did. I can't really call CRO back to double check!! Help! :)

We were already booked with a ROOM ONLY, AAA discount at the Polynesian, in a lagoon view concierge room. Price: $2328.00 for 4 nights.

Tickets would've been $468. (4 day park hoppers).

Total WAS $2796.

I called today and asked to book the Package using YQC code.

The CM looked, and much to my surprise, there was a discount package available for the Polynesian, lagoon view concierge.

The new price is: $2575.

SAVINGS: $221. OVER AND ABOVE the AAA discount we already had.

Oh, and I was on hold for about 25-26 minutes, from 7:01am until about 7:26am.

P.S. The only real difference between booking the room only and booking this package is that now we have to pay in full, by tomorrow. Whereas before, we'd already paid the 1 night deposit, and the rest was not due until check-in. Not a problem for us, but it could be a consideration possibly for others.

EDITED TO ADD: Just out of curiosity, I checked to see what our room would cost without the AAA discount, to find out what the true YQC discount is. If we had not already had the AAA discount, this discount would've saved us about $479. Not too bad

No I got a better rate the AAA (or to me CAA) I saved 40.00 off the CAA Rate. So I took the code. Everybit of savings Count.Quotes includes Resort, 2 base tickets and dining plan

POR Nov. 28 to Dec. 1 AAA 693.91
POR YQE 652.28

My AAA package: room, tickets, and dining is about $30 cheaper than the new code rate(YQE) at the Beach Club Resort. So I kept my original AAA package. It was/is a great rate but I was hopeful that I could save a bit more. Alas that was not the case. :guilty:

SeaSpray...

Looks like you are going during regular season? (before Thanksgiving) There's another thread showing that the disounts are more during regular season than value, but the price paid is about the same.

For my dates at a deluxe resort,GF, (11/27 - 12/3), the AAA discount is better than the new package.

Staying for 9 nights at POP in December and I am saving $150 over what our AAA price was.

Thanks for all the replies :)

I am home now and just viewed my new reservation online, and it's correct, for the correct price! So I have indeed, saved an additional $221, over and above our initial AAA discount :)

*I went from a AAA room-only discount to the YQC room + tickets package. Not sure if this makes a difference or not.*

I'm saving about $100 more than my original AAA discount.... but like my agent said, "Why not do it?" Also, didn't lose my ADR's as they just applied the new rate to my package, same confirmation number.

It appears that the way it is working is the discount price is fixed.

If you are AAA during Value season, AAA is likely (very slightly) better

If you are AAA during "other" seasons that are eligible for the discount, the discount is better, because it is nearly the same as the AAA value season rate regardless of the season, if that makes sense.

We just did way better with the code. I don't think even though we used a AAA TA that we had gotten any discount before--maybe because it was a package? Anyways, I am so excited--We just saved $290!!!!!!

We have 7 nights @ POP w/ parkhopper tickets and dining. Was 1999.42 (includes AAA fee and MNSSHP tix) New total $1708.62 :rotfl: Plus we got it twice because my girlfriend and her two kids also got the discount. That's almost $600!!!!!!! :earboy2: Yea US!

30 days and counting....... :cool1:

A downside to me for the possible small savings is that the full balance has to be paid so far in advance.
With my AAA discount, I make a one-night deposit and then the balance is due at check in.
I like keeping my money as long as possible!

We decided against using the code, even though we would have saved an additional $88 over our current AAA discounted rate. We prefer the flexability that the room only booking offers. We have a king room booked at CSR for 6 nights for two adults with a AAA discount applied through Disney for only $119/nite + tax. We also have (2) 5 day MYW hopper passes.

Our current total is 1288. Our total with the new code for the same thing is $1199. So, it just wasn't worth it to me. Right now, we pay at check in and I have until 5 days out to cancel without penalty. If we changed to the package, payment in full would be due 10/27 and we would be subject to the less friendly cancellation/rescheduling terms of a package deal.

Now, I know that the additional $89 could come in handy, but I like knowing that what I have is all set up. I don't have to stress about reconfirming all the ADR's and possibly losing any of them. Maggie

During Regular Season AAA would have saved us $179.55 less joiner fee of $55.95 (7 nights at POR, 7 day hopper and dining plan for 2 adults 1 child).

With Discount Code I'm saving 424.38! Much bigger savings for me!
