A Guide to Going to Disney on Your Birthday!

We are going next week to celebrate my DD 9th birthday. It is a total surprise. I have her an appt at BBB. Then we go get ready for the pirate & princess party. The next day we are going to AK, bfast at Donalds. That night wwe are having dinner at 1900 Park Faire. I have ordered a cake for there. I plan to get her a button at MK. I have noted her bday on everything. Oh and we already have special autograph books that I made for everyone. We have matching shirts, but no bday shirts. She wears a costume every day anyway though.

I am worried about my son not getting any attention if she does get alot. But maybe it will be ok.

Are there different buttons at AK or DTD?? Let me know if there is anything I should do.

Thanks,

Alisha

Thanks for all the tips....I cant wait we will be arriving in 16 days, to celebrate my DD's 6th B-day.........

My DD will be turning 8 during our trip there this coming October, where we'll also be for MNSSHP! I want to make it as special as possible for her, and still give her little brother (4) all the attention he deserves as well. Thanks for the info, and keep those tips coming!

Thank you so much for the great info!! we are going to be there when it's my DD's 15th birthday next year and I just asked a question yesterday about how to make it special! i knew about the pins but not what they got you ... and i will certainly aim to try the shirt idea if i can get my 2 cooler than ice teens to go along with it *lol*

cheers!

We were there this past November/December and my birthday happened while we were there. It was noted on my hotel ressie and my ADR's for our meals that day.

I wore a custom made Mickey Mouse "celebrating my birthday Disney style shirt" the whole day. At Chef Mickey's for breakfast, they brought me a birthday button, the cupcake and the placemat. I was pretty surprised since I am a "grown-up";) (in theory anyway), but DS3.5 loved the attention. The characters came when my cupcake came- I got a big kiss from Mickey!

For lunch we went to the Sci Fi and they brought candles out with our ice cream dessert.

For dinner we had a candlelight processional package at Le Cellier. They were supposed to decorate our table and bring me a crown and my server was horrified that it wasn't done before we were seated. They did decorate my dessert plate with birthday stuff and a candle.

During the day, I received countless "Happy Birthday!" from CM's and strangers alike.

At Garden Grille the night before my birthday we had a cake that Mickey brought and a Magical Moment certificate for DS.

Later in the week, at Teppanyaki, they brought me a paper Chef Hat with Happy Birthday written in Japanese and my dessert with a candle.

We stayed at AKL and were upgraded from standard to savannah. On my birthday they left an autographed picture of the characters and an AKL birthday card.

It was a fun week for all of us and DS loved the extra attention we were getting from all the characters!

On my Bday trip last September I used the pins in every park and got tons and tons of goodies!!

At Pop and at CBR I got cards signed by Minnie Mouse and a balloon

At 1900 Park Fare I got a Happy Birthday tiara, a placemat signed by all the characters and a cupcake.

At CRT I got a magical moments certificate and a cupcake and they also gave me a 2nd set of my photos from the package.

During MNSSHP I got extra candy, the ghost quartet sang me Happy Birthday and the weird guy with the balloon animals made me a hat.

Since it was the transition between the HCOE and YOAMD they called me up and asked me to write down my dream. I wrote that it was to meet Dopey since I'm never able to find him in the parks (I even managed to miss him during the MNSSHP) but nothing ever came of that. They did let one little girl meet Cinderella though.

At AK I got 2 different ice cream pops, and some CMs gave me some pins without trading

At WCC they made my brother and my boyfriend run around on the steeds and sing happy birthday to me, and then they put my brother in jail for talking on his cell phone at the dinner table :lmao:

At 50's PT I got a card signed by all my "cousins" and of course my cupcake.

At Epcot they wrote Happy Birthday to me at all the kidcot stations in my passport in different languages. I also got a free ice cream there and a bday dessert at Alfredo's along with the entire staff and the accordian guy singing and playing for me!

At Chef Mickey's I got the cupcake and place mat as well

A free marshmallow candy thing at the villian shop at MGM

A magical moment certificate at Ohana signed by the characters

A magical moment certificate and celebration at Goofy's Candy Co.

I know there's proably more but thats all I can think of for now. I was just wearing the pins, no bday shirt but my ressies all had my bday on them. I'm looking forward to more pixie dust when I go back in Sept for another bday celebration. This time we're staying WLC!!! Can't wait! princess:

I did eventually find Dopey though, after chasing him around the parks all week based on where the CM's told me he was going to be and he was never there. A fellow rider on the bus told me to try the Magical Beginnings and that he often was there with Snow White in the morning so I went on my very last day in the pouring rain and sure enough, there he was! I guess the most fantastic, wonderful things COULD happen when it all starts with a wish!!!

I just came back from my birthday trip...and wow! Here are just some of the many things that CMs did to make it special:

--Happy birthday wishes everywhere!! And not just "happy birthday..." they often said my name too! (they write it on the button)

--From a supervisor CM in the Chapeau, as I was getting my pirate mouse ears: "You just got here? Have you had your official Disney birthday hug yet?" Then he gave me a great big hug! So nice.

--A nice CM in the Emporium gave me my Goofy birthday phone call, and he even did it twice so my mom could hear it too! I came back later in the day, and the same man was still working, and said, "Have you come back to hear Goofy again?" LOL

--Free brownie at Casey's Corner with my lunch

--At the Pirate Tutorial, Mac kept coming over and talking to me during the show! (too bad it wasn't Jack Sparrow, but still, it was nice)

--A security guard in the Trading Post in Frontierland sang to me in front of the whole store!

--Tigger gave me a birthday kiss at Epcot

--Had dinner at Bistro de Paris; and they sat us in the best corner table so we could see Illuminations; then, they brought me a special cake (delicious!) that they had written "Happy 26th Birthday" and my name on the plate in chocolate...and we didn't even ask for it! (they had ID'd me earlier when we ordered wine--and I realized it wasn't because they thought I was too young--they wanted to see how old I was!)

--On Soarin', the CM announced to everyone that it was my birthday, and all the other guests cheered for me! Then, I rode again later and they put me in the front center glider!

-At JII, I was pin trading with a CM, looking for Fig pins, and another one came over and said, "Oooh, it's your birthday, I have a Figment too!" so I ended up getting 2 different pins in the same series!

--At the Character Connection, got special attention from all the characters...one of the CMs asked "you're 15 today, right?" in jest--and then she told Pluto! He gave me a big high-five and a bear...er, dog...hug!

--In Port of Entry shop, 2 CMs sang to me in harmony!

--On my way out of the MK my last night, the CMs above the exit tunnels on Main Street that hold up the little signs, all shouted "Happy Birthday!"

--Went to the Pepper Market for dinner, and the wonderful waitresses got together and brought me a delicious chocolate cake and sang to me!

It's the best time I've ever had at WDW! They really go out of their way to make it special. Don't go expecting big things...it's the little stuff that made it magical for me. Everyone go, and have a :bday: !

Great ideas! My birthday is a couple days after we get back, so I think we will celebrate an "almost birthday" at Disney! :)

I'm so sorry if this has already been asked, but where do you get these "birthday pins"?

Thank you all in advance!
:cake:

At any of the guest service offices in the parks as well as Downtown Disney.

You can get them at any park or if you are staying on site you can get them at your resort. They really are a lot of fun! Enjoy

when I wore my birthday button on the tower or terror the guy loading the elevator sang happy birthday to me in that great HTH droning voice, he was excellent! :thumbsup2

My husband and I are going to Disney in December. It is kind of our anniversary, birthday and christmas presents to each other. My husband will actually be having his birthday while we are there though and I have been playing all kinds of special surprises for him. I am having a basket of goodies made and put in our room by Sarah from www.memoriesbysarah.com I am also having a diver hold up a bday sign during dinner at Coral Reef. I saw in a early post on here that Disney can decorate your room for you so I am going to look into that.

Any other ideas that anyone wants to share I would love to hear

When we go during my DD's 8th B'day in October, I wanted to look into a few things.

- I wanted to get an early appt at BBB (we're buying her a dress for this one, and it looks awesome!)

- I wanted to do a meal at CRT. Which, btw brings me to another question....Anyone familiar with the "Glass Slipper" dessert? Someone mentioned this to me, and said it was available at CRT. What is it? Would it be something my DD and DS would be interested in?

Any other things you'd mention for young princess' 8th B'day?

As a fellow floridian I am ashamed that I have never been on my birthday now. If you have any Fl. Res. tips that I might be missing out on PLEASE lmk. We had a hard winter at work and were laid off for for a few months (DH and I) so naturally the first thing that had to go were lots of Diz trips(we've been going more often every year). The only one we're currently planning is for MNSSHP (can't miss that!) which so happens to be our dear friends 55th b-day, she and her kids will be with us I am looking forward to using lots of your tips. I'm probably going to bite your "unbirthday" shirt idea. I was planning on shirts that said "it's janets birthday" and "I'm Janet" but the unbirthday thing is so diz- I forgot I was planning an unbirthday party for my son(whose b-day is during the summer) until I read your post...I'd better get off the dis and start planning that!!!
Thanks for your helpful b-day post!
...t.

Very cool tips...Thanks everyone. Now I can't wait to order the baby her birthday cake and stuff.
