A Guide to Going to Disney on Your Birthday!

When we went this past Dec. we celebrated DS b-day during MVMCP. I did alot of the ideas posted here on the DIS and the day was a complete BLAST for DS. I had an air brushed shirt made for him that said, "Im turning 3 with Mickey" in the front and "Its my b-day" on the back. When we arrived at the MK we decided to ride the monorail before the party started and upon seeing DS shirt the CM striked up a conversation with him and when the monorail pulled up they asked us if we wanted to ride in the front, YEAH! When we entered the park I went and got him his free pin and the CM that helped us saw his shirt and had everyone sing happy b-day to him, he also received stickers. We were allowed on the FP lines by the CM because it was his b-day. I had informed LTT that it was his b-day when I made my ADR's and their was confetti on the table and he received a card signed by the characters. When they bought out the cake that I had ordered him all the characters came and the children in the restaurant were asked to sing him hb-day. The day was topped off when we went to take pictures with Mickey and Minnie. We were the last family to take pictures and Mickey and Minnie hugged him and the CM that were in there also took our pictures and recorded the whole encounter for us, we were there for about ten minutes. This was truly a MAGICAL day for our entire family.

This is my 1st post. Thanks for the great tips. We are going to be in Disney for my birthday in August. I can't wait. We have adr's for O'hana's, there will be 10 of us, :grouphug: and then the Wishes boat ride. I am so excited. :jumping1:

This sounds so much fun, it is my brother in law's birthday 6 days after we get back to the UK so i think we will defo do the birthday stuff while we are at disney

to all who are celebrating birthday's and un-birthdays have a lovely time :):bday:

I was just wondering a few things. First of all, I noticed on one post that something special happens at Goofy's Candy Co., just wondering what that is. If someone could tell me that would be great!!!

Also for those who have been, how are Chef Mickey's and Cape May for Birthdays? Any input would be great!! Thank you so much.:)

i know CM gives you a placemat signed by the characters.

This was a couple of years ago, but when it was my brother's "birthday" (he didn't like any of the food at the buffet, so we said it was his birthday so he could get a cupcake, it is a long story), everyone sang to him and swung their napkins. Plus he got a cupcake. It was lots of fun.

What a great post, sounds like your birthdays are a blast!!! I really wanted to do Disney for my daughters 6th birthday in Nov. but my DH just can not take vacation that time of year so we ended up planning our trip for May, and *my* birthday falls 2 days after we arrive.

I'm still bummed about not doing my dd's birthday there, and was considering doing her half birthday, but even that is 2 weeks after our trip. Would it be totally corny to pick a day as her 5 1/2 birthday even though its not the 24th??

You should take your daughter without your DH! That's what I did for my DD's 6th. I surprised her by flying her down for 3 days. Thanks to the DIS, and all the suggestions I received from here, they made it a magical 3 days for her! On every ADR, I had it noted that it was her birthday and she was truly treated like a Princess. We still talk about that great girls only trip! She's going to be 9 this year and we are going back and taking the boys (DH & DS). DS is also celebrating a birthday while we are there!

I love the t-shirt idea but I won't put my kids names on them. Any other ideas would be great!

What a great way to spend your 3rd bday! Your boys are cuties. I love your airbrushed shirt, I am going to have to show DH and see if he would want to try it for our 2 birthday kids this upcoming trip. :goodvibes:

i hope when i'm at AK on my Bday i have a very happy UNbirthday!!!!! any ideas?

Is it true that you get free drinks (grown up drinks ;) ) at World Showcase on your birthday? I know someone mentioned it in the beginning of this thread but no one else confirmed it...Thanks!

I'll be celebrating my bday this weekend at WDW (it's actually the following weekend, the 26th!)

I believe you get a drink in each country and I've been for my bday but have never done this. Can anyone else elaborate?

Hmmm, sounds too good to be true  I'll be attempting to drink around the world the day we're celebrating anyway so I'll have my button on. If I order a drink, do you think the button is good enough or do I have to actually ask about it?

Well, after a margarita (or 2) I might just ask anyway! :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the tips! I am going to be there in December for my 30th Birthday on December 13, and now I am really excited!

I am usually not an attention seeker, but this sounds like it could be fun!

I really like the idea about having everyone that wishes you a happy birthday sign an autograph book...that is really cool!

I posted way back in this thread, when I took DD for her 5th birthday -- just us girls. We had a blast, and I can't wait to do the same for DS when he turns 5 next year. (Both DD and DS have birthdays during the school year, so I love the idea of a getaway for that last birthday before the school schedule gets in the way.)

What a great thread!
I was pointed to it by another member cause my daughter is 12 next year when we are there and I was asking for tips to make it extra special. She is sooooo excited that she's going to be there - much to the bemusement her 2 sisters!
The T-shirt idea is fantastic and I think I'll do one for her and definately the pin. We're going to Animal Kingdom on her birthday (25th March) as its her favourite park and a character breakfast in the park (either Restaurantosaurus or Tusker House, whichever it'll be then) and then a nice evening meal at one of the disney restaurants - haven't chosen yet as I can't make up my mind, so many to choose from!
This is going to be one birthday she's always going to remember!
