This is just a rough draft, if you would like to correct this or making any suggestions please reply::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

$299 Adult

2- day pass $50.00 a day = $100
1- Light up the Sky" Celebration at Epcot $41.95(price from the mmvmc party)
1-dessert buffet $38.36
1-A Night of Wishes Come True" Party in the Magic Kingdom $41.95
1-plus a meal $38.37
1-The Grandest Opening of Them All" at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Free
1-plus a special lunch $38.37

i guess if your not a AP holder or have disney passes burning a hole in your wallet.::MinnieMo

if you break down the price its really not that bad except i dont think i could eat $38.36 worth of dessert, but on the other hand desserts are not cheap anymore, and we have to try at least one of each, just bring plastic baggies and foil to take some back home for later, that 2:00 am snack.::MinnieMo

what do you think anyone else come up with a break down of the price?:wave2:

I wonder how many "limited" tickets they plan to sell.

Is the number even comparable to the MMVMC parties? If the numbers are much, much less, then they might divide the total costs of the after park party by less tickets. A really private party.

Therefore, I guess the "event only" ticket might be conceivably be much higher than $42.

Maybe this is the only way to justify the high cost of this exclusive all-inclusive event.

A DVC CM mentioned to me that 4,000 tickets would be available for the Member Gathering in May.

Last night, the CM at the Pop Century DVC booth said they're selling 1,500 family tickets, for a total of 4,000 - 5,000 individuals.

I'm sorry. family tickets or number of families they are allowing;) to participate?

If it is number of families to participate, I think they may be way off in their ticket number. Though obviously many DVC family are 3-6 people, I don't see a lot of families forking over $1500-$1800 for this event. I would think it will be mostly singles and couples.

I agree. It doesn't really look like a kid friendly event.

Wonder how soon you will be seeing this event for sale on ebay!!!

I emailed member services directly because I had a question about the event tickets as we had plans on being there on 5/25 & 5/26 but would be on a cruise on the 5/27 and unable to attend the event at Saratoga Springs. This is the response to my questions about the tickets:

This special event is one ticket used for all 3 days of the event. They are going to have each guests name personalized on the ticket. Therefore they would not be able to be given to another guest for the 27th only. At this time there are no plans to split up the ticket for guests not able to attend all three days. Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable.

The ticket includes two days of Park Hopper® privileges to:
Magic Kingdom® Park
Epcot®
Disney-MGM Studios
Disney's Animal Kingdom®

PLUS one visit to Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island or DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park.

**The Park Hoppers® are valid for May 25 & 26 ONLY .

Payment is due at time of booking. We will accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Debit Cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo.

If you choose to participate and purchase the Event WITHOUT Admission Media please be advised you would need an additional form of entry, in addition to the Event Ticket, to attend the event as the theme parks will be open at the start of the event.

Hope this answers some questions that other may have had.

Ahhh, does "at this time" mean that there might be hope?

This does not appear to be such a great deal. We're going to be buying PAPs so the park passes/PI/DQ perks mean nothing. I saw somewhere that if you don't need the park passes the price is discounted by $50, so in other words, add another $10/item for each of the remaining 5 pay-event items that wdwstar first categorized. Almost $50 for a dessert buffet? And $50 for a lunch?

$299 goes a long way (about 2/3rd's) toward purchasing those PAPs which will be good for 12 months as opposed to just 3-days. All parks, all water parks, PI, and DQ for 12 months! To me that's a lot better use of the money.

While it sounds like 'fun', it's not at a price I'm willing to pay.

Don't a lot of DVCers have AP/PAP's? As a matter of fact, we just purchased them for the first time this past August. Perhaps they should have had one (lower) price for the events of the 25th - 27th, and then an option to purchase admission passes at a reduced rate for those specific days.

I got all excited when I received the invitation in the mail...my birthday is May 25th!! But I have a feeling I'll be spending it here in li'l ol' RI...as usual. :(

I am a big Disney fan, but I believe this is a transparent scam to sucker us DVC'ers into spending even MORE money at WDW. The price nor the events excite me in the least. They want us to PAY to go to a sales and marketing event.

OK, doesn't this imply that you will be able to purchase the Event Ticket WITHOUT the 2 day park hopper (Admission Media)?

**update** I did see on another thread where AP holders can subtract $50 per person from the price if they don't need the park hopper.

MVMCP is about $36 when purchased in advance..
The prices seem a bit high which is typical for Disney packaged events...still those who went on the seemingly high priced Members' Cruise really liked it. On the other hand -DVC members prepay for Disney resorts because it saves us money...we don't pay the same for resorts as other suckers...so I am not sure they are pitching their high priced stuff to the right crowd.

I had sent an e-mail to MS on Saturday letting them know of my disappointed in the pricing and if they would be selling seperate day tickets and we might not be able to go to the last event as we are supposed to be leaving early in the morn of that day. I received a phone call this morning (11am) from Jackie in MS. She said they will not be selling seperate day tickets. She said they will be selling approx 4,000 tickets to this 3 day event. She also said there will be alot of things going on a hugh party with a DJ in Epcot and the Wishes at MK. If you have an AP already it will be $249. I asked about the meal at MK, as stated in the invite, if that is after 8:30 and she didn't know, she is finding out and will be getting back to me. I have a few other questions when she calls back. I will let you know what the answers to my questions are later.

This event is obviously geared to the DVCer who has lots of disposable income. Disney fails to understand that the majority of DVCers are already spending their disposable income for points and dues. These type of overpriced events have a "lets push the limit and see how much more $$$ we can squeeze from the DVC crowd" tone to them.

As far as the member cruise goes, I'm sure it was a great time. However, I don't think anything was given to the DVCer that they didn't pay for with the extra points or cash they paid. That event was almost the price of a seven day cruise in the same sailing season. Oh well the Memeber Homecoming will have to go as another missed special event.

Guess I'll have to make my own DVC event....for about 1/3 the cost!!

As long as DVC'ers keep going to these "overpriced" events.....DVC will keep having them. :(

Boy, then where are all those DVCers getting the money for PAPs, MVMCP, MNSSHP, E-nights, Food and Wine, Dinners at World Showcase, .... I've read a lot of Disney info online in 16 years, but DVCers crying 'poor' is a new one. The Perpetual Addonitis Epidemic demonstrates that no small amount of DVCers still have significant disposable income.

Nick, from a pure cost/benefit analysis point-of-view, I can't argue with your contention that the MH is "overpriced". However, the same can be said by someone about virtually everything at WDW. I believe that almost every Disney restaurant is "overpriced". Quite a few people feel that every on-site resort is "overpriced". Heck, there is even a fringe element that thinks that DVC is "overpriced" ;) . And you're also right with your other statement; but I'll rephrase it a little; "As long as there are people who feel that Disney/DVC events / restaurants / resorts are giving them enough value for their money, Disney/DVC will keep having them."
