Hypothetical Boardwalk Tower

With less than 17 years remaining before the original BWV points revert back to DVC, I really don't know why they would expand in that area now. Better to put it off until a more cohesive plan is possible using all available space.

We're quickly approaching the point where DVC won't have to build ANY new destinations. instead they can just start repurposing old ones. Riviera, Island Tower and Lakeshore Lodge may keep them in business for the next 6-8 years. And then there's the cabins, which could be paired with LL to make that a more viable (and longer term) sell.

Boardwalk is already six? floors with the shopping/dining so going to ten like Island Tower isn't that much crazier, especially when you see Swan/Dolphin towering over it.

I wouldn't want Reflections 3.0 like Island Tower is 2.0. I'd want it to fit the Boardwalk exterior. I'd also want a full resort with rooftop dining to see Epcot fireworks and DHS Fantasmic!, a true QS in the Crescent Lake area, and a store inside the lobby.

Boardwalk is honestly my least favorite of the three WDW Crescent Lake resorts, but I would buy this.

It would take away the charm of the area. Who wants a big monolithic tower stuck on the edge of crescent lake? I can't imagine sitting on my Boardwalk view balcony and having a tower hotel stuck in the middle of my view. It just won't fit.
If the tower is built over where the Dance Hall is…. I don’t think it would block any of the Boardwalk View rooms….

“They built Beach Club over a waterway….”

Given the expiration date on BWV, I have to imagine that a potential tower there wouldn't be in the plans until after the 2042 expiration, right? A mixed expiration resort seems to be what they're trying to avoid at all costs after the OKR fiasco (and we'll see how it ends with Boulder Ridge/Copper Creek).

I'd rather they have a front of gate hotel themed to EPCOT (plus it could be a monorail resort for the first time in decades, with access to both EPCOT and TTC/MK)

I think almost everyone talking about this is meaning "a tower near/on the boardwalk area" and not "a tower within the BWV DVC association"

It would need to stand on it's own as a DVC and would not be mixed with BWV points. Nothing like OKW at all

I am a huge Disney and DVC lover but I absolutely hate these generic towers Disney’s doing now. They look like any Marriott you’d see in any city. It’s sad. I guess the days of amazingly and intricately themed resorts are over. Imagineering is a shadow of its former self, especially when it comes to the new resorts.

Disneys all about just quickly (by Disney’s terms) throwing up cheap ugly towers that will hold a ton of guests who will pay an arm and a leg to basically stay in a Marriott.

The Riviera is boring. It has a tiny, disappointing lobby. It’s not really that great of a location, the points charts are too high and it is imo the most underwhelming of any Disney resort. I’ve been to the real Riviera several times and this resort does not remind me of it in the least bit. The new Poly tower isn’t much better. It’s an eyesore that ruins the old Polys aesthetic. The new Lakeshore will likewise ruin Fort Wilderness’ theming and I’m sure will be equally as underwhelming as the other towers.

A BW tower would be especially egregious. It would stick out like a sore thumb and completely ruin the Boardwalk theming. Hopefully it wouldn’t ruin sight lines in the two nearby parks.

Instead of trying to build endless rooms to house endless guests, when the parks are already way too crowded as it is, Disney needs to focus on guest experience and taking care of what they already have. They need to remember what made them such an attractive vacation destination in the first place and work on getting back to that, not on building endless cookie cutter towers that have no thought or care or theming put into them.

The towers are the visual manifestation of Disney’s new “wring as much money out of each guest while giving less and less in return” policy. And it’s sad.

I’ll mark you down in the “no” category then….

“Multi-site” trust….

As a BCV owner for 22 years now, what this area does not need, are more DVC rooms. If they tear down the dance hall, they need to put up a decent, affordable food court type place. Thats what the entire area needs!! Something we can grab and bring back to our rooms. The choices are so darn limited right now.
