Second Showings

How busy are second showings of WOC? And would it be much easier to get a place for PTN if I wait for the second run? I would rather have lower crowds and stay up later than have to stake out a viewing location an hour or more ahead of time. What is your experience on second showings?

Yes, the second showing of everything is always much less crowded than the first. Crowds are lower because it is too late for many families with little kids. Also, it is inherently less waiting because you only start waiting after the first show ends. This will be around 9:45 for the second PTN (an hour), 9:45 for Fantasmic (45 minutes), and 9:30 for WOC (45 minutes).

When are you visiting and what are you looking for in a viewing location? This is the first week for both shows so it is still a bit early to say.

Traditionally, second shows have lighter crowds but it is relative. PTN is an extremely popular and well loved parade so I don't think the second show will ever be "light." This weekend people were claiming viewing locations for the second parade as soon as the first parade ended. This weekend there were a lot of people entering DL from DCA to watch the second show.

Any second show will have a less of a wait to see but could still be pretty crowded. For PtN I would position myself to be at Main Street during the fireworks to crab a seat. The first show have people waiting 3+ hours.

We will be there first week of June. We are a group of adults and don't need to be curb side. We may try to watch the Fire of the Rising Moon fireworks then head to Small World area for second run of PTN, if I understand it right second showing should be coming from Main St.?

This is my plan as well. We have Fantasmic reservations our first DL day and plan on watching the fireworks from there. Our second DL day we will do Fire of the Rising moon then move to small world for PTN and the projections on small world.
