$99 Refurb nook - 3G + WiFi

I wonder why there are so many refurbished nooks already. I don't think they've been out that long, have they? Anyway, I've never had any trouble with my refurb ipod.

There seems to be a big problem with the plastic front cracking near the right page forward button. People on the nook boards recommend using the page swipe to forward the page instead of the button.

MIne arrived yesterday but since it is my Christmas present, I was not allowed to open it and the box has since disappeared. Hopefully it will show back up under the tree!

in stock right now. It is refurbished so certainly not as good as deal as the Best Buy Black Friday - but they do come with a 1 year warranty.

Buy.com has also been selling the $99 Wif only model but is currently sold out. Both have been going in and out of stock.

Still no word on a Kindle deal for next week. I'm hopeful.

Yes, I am on my 3rd Nook for this reason. After the first one cracked (got it right when they became available last year) I stopped using the page turn button. The second Nook cracked anyway. Both were brand new items.

I am on my 3rd one now (refurb) and so far so good.

The nook I ordered for DH came today!!! YAY and it is great. Came in a nice box just like new and really you would never be able to tell it was refurbished aside from the B&N packing label that says it is refurbished. Super happy!! It actually came yesterday but we missed delivery so anyways it came!!

PP who said tracking label wasnt working..Mine was not working up until yesterday and so I contacted the seller to make sure everything was okay and then looked at tracking (AGAIN!) and lo and behold it was suddenly updated and nook was out for delivery...

Can anyone who ordered more than 1 Nook tell me if on the outside of the packing box if it mentions anything about the quantity? I am trying to keep a Christmas gift a surprise since my daughter will see the package tomorrow before I get home. I have just told her that I bought myself one, but really I bought 2.

I really wanted the 3g feature, but missed the 99 ebay deal, and the $119 deal...so now I have ordered one...

I think it might depend on the mail person. Our will not leave anything. If it is a box it has to be delivered to a person or he takes it back to the post office.

PP: My box didnt say anything on the outside about quantity but if she opens the box then inside mine was individually packaged in a like new box. So i would assume you would have 2 boxes inside the big box.

I ordered two. They both came today in 2 identical boxes that say b$n on the outside

How do we know if we have the 3g nook? It says it on the receipt, but it doesn't say it on the box or anywhere on the nook. I just want to make sure I have the right nook.

The website to buy books works, but if I try going to yahoo, it says the wifi is disconnected. Does the 3g only work if you want to buy a book from the barnes and noble page??

Yes, the 3g is only for B&N book downloads. I had to go into the wi-fi setting and select our home wireless and add our password and then I was able to go onto the net to surf.

the 3G model has a gray back. The regular wifi model has a white back. I was having trouble trying to use the 3G feature so I called Barnes and Noble. He told me that in order to use the 3G feature you have to go to Wifi and turn it off, then go back to go shopping and the 3G automatically kicks on. You can use the 3G feature anywhere that an At&t cell phone can be used, so practically everywhere! I did what he said and it works. That is so awesome, so you don't have to be connected to a wifi network in order to shop through B&N and order books. Hope this helps.
