I ordered mine on the 8th and I have not received my shipping email!! Hope I get it soon...

I found some nice Nook covers on Amazon (of all places!) search up nook cover and you will find quite a few nice ones.

I like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/JAVOedge-Cher...3T7U/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1289357738&sr=8-5

I found the selection on B*N not very good for what you are paying for. What I like about this cover is not only the style (very pretty), but also the fact that it slips into the cover and not held on by elastic straps.

I thought I would like a leather one, but I'm really not that sure about that.

Thanks! I went to JAVOedge website and found a black plaid one that I love and ordered. I do like the looks of these covers best.

I ordered mine on the 7th and the shipping email only came this morning. However, yesterday I checked my ebay account and it showed as shipped (before I got the email notification).
:)

I got my shipping notification through ebay really late on Monday night. When i click on the tracking number through ebay it still has no information on it as of just now. And with tomorrow being Veterans Day there will be no mail delivered, so it looks like sat or mon before I may get it. Still nervous about it since there is no tracking information. I just wish it would say something about where the package is and I would feel a little better about it.

I haven't received my shipping notification yet. I ordered mine on the 6th and I just checked ebay. There was a UPS tracking number, I took that and plugged it into the UPS site and it says it's out for delivery today! It was sent from NJ and I'm in VA.

Both of mine are out for delivery - since I'm working at home today, I'll get to play with them right away

For those of you wondering, some of them appear to be shipping out of NV and some out of NJ - those of us getting them so fast are just close to the shipping points. They are being sent standard UPS for the most part, although I've seen some references to smaller shipping companies and USPS being used on Slickdeals in a few cases.

My tracking number isn't showing as valid on UPS, USPS or Fedex. Hmm.....

It does show as a USPS number on ebay and if it is only Delivery Confirmation then it isn't truly a tracking number and won't scan until actual delivery.

I sure hope they insured it if they did send it through the regular post office. We live in a tiny town and have had issues with packages getting stolen (we suspect by one of the carriers) that has been scanned in as delivered.

I was really hoping this would be sent UPS or Fedex.

My mail carrier has been leaving packages on the front step lately, and I live on a VERY busy street with lots of folks walking by all day just 10 feet from that front step with a full view of it - I thought the post office HAD to deliver to a person, or put it in a mailbox, or leave a slip for me to come pick it up at the post office, but I guess I'm wrong :confused3

I've had packages stolen off the step recently, so I've now put a note on my door telling all delivery people they either need to leave it in a more secure location (over a locked gate they can easily put packages behind but the thiefs can't see or retrieve them afterwards) or just leave me a notice so I can call and set up other arrangements - I typically choose to pick up from UPS or USPS and have FedEx deliver it to the Kinko's down the street. If I'm expecting anything fragile or weather sensitive, I leave a specific note saying under no cases deliver - I will pick up. So far they've been pretty good at following the directions. Maybe you could try doing that??

That would work if the mail carrier was actually delivering it rather than stealing them. I have complained to the postmaster and filed a report and so have 2 others according to our regular mail carrier (it's the 2 day a week sub that they "suspect") but that carrier is still on the job delivering mail to our neighborhood.

I'm hoping this is delivered on a day our regular carrier delivers the mail!

I'm just thinking that if you have a note on the door saying NOT to deliver, the mail carrier would be hard pressed to explain why he supposedly delivered anyway (as well as the package being "gone"). It just adds another layer he'd have to explain away, and it might be enough of a complication for him to not steal the items???

My tracking states that mine is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. It's in IL now and I'm in MI. :cool1:

My Nook is here, my Nook is here! Thank you OP! :goodvibes

YOu lucky bugger! I'm so jealous that you get to play with yours. My husband took the next two days off from work (due to working 22 days without time off) and he's excited too. He likes tech gadgets and even though it's mine, he'll use it when he goes on a business trip (which isn't often).

Mr. UPS Man just delivered both of mine

The delivery gods must be smiling down on me today, because he also delivered my AG-doll size Horse and Sleigh from the deal last week at TRU. (I was worried about that getting damaged in transit the way they toss things around, but it's in fabulous shape!!) And a couple of hours ago the postman brought me one of the Nook covers I ordered on Monday. I love online shopping

If anyone is wondering, my Nooks look perfect, just like new units. No scatches or dings, and none of that "gunk" that sort of builds up around the edges and such over time  The only mention of it being a refurb is on the UPC label on the side of the box. There is no refurb label on the device itself.

Let the downloading commence!!! :woohoo:

Mine came today too - zipppity do dah! I really want to play with it, but part of me also thinks I should wrap it up so the kids can see me open it at Christmas. They know I want one and it would thrill them to see me get one.

Maybe I can do both? Hmmm,,,,,

My plan is to play with both Nooks, make sure they are fully charged, load some books for my daughter on hers, some books for me onto mine, have the wifi configured and just generally know how to use the things. Then I'll wrap up both and leave them from "Santa" on Christmas Eve night. My daughter will have the thrill of thinking we both have new, matching Nooks. And I'll have the thrill of having them ready to go without a lot of fuss Christmas morning. One of the worst thing about getting electronics for Christmas is having to sort through all of the above stuff before you can really start using them...
