9/10/2012 ~ 6 WONDERful nights ~ VC to L.A.

There are more of us out here! Tell your husband to join us in the crazy!

I don't think he has much of a choice!:dance3:

Thank you so much for clarifying the Oceaneer's Club for me! I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss signing up for something before we left! :woohoo:

Next thing we're wondering about is the pirate party night. I know we are encouraged to dress up, but how dressed up does everyone get? A hat and a patch? Or full on costumes? ;)

Some people do not dress up at al and some look like they just came off the Black Pearl and everything in between. It dependsa on what you want to pack. There are some accessories sold in one of the gift shops, plastic swords and other stuff. It can be very fun for sure. I believe on the longer cruises DCL gives out bandanas at dinner.

Agreed with above! You will definitely see the full range of people...some costumes I have seen were pretty intense. For me...I have a stand-by bandana with goofy ears that I usually throw on.

We used the Oceaneers Clubs for the first time last year. (Yes, until that point I had only sailed with adults. Don't judge...) Anyway, it is SUPER easy. Once we got my nieces set up with their wrist bands we could check them in and out whenever they wanted to go. The 5 year old pretty much dumped us any chance she had. The 3 year old would sometimes want to leave and so the Club would send us a message on the wave phone and we would come and get her when she was done.

What I really hope everyone has the chance to experience, though...one time we go to get the 5 year old for dinner. She sees us and immediately takes off as fast as she could the opposite direction. There is nothing quite like trying to chase down a 5 year old in the Clubs...

Whoop Whoop all paid up and Palo booked for brunch and dinner.:cool1:

Tracy (42) and Mike (42) we wil be celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary:love:

This will be our 2nd and 3rd DCL trip. Our first was last year when we did the Western Transatlantic from Barcelona to Florida for 14 days which was an incredible trip:woohoo:

Welcome Aboard! (I mean this for for everyone I may have missed here!)

I hope all you B2B cruisers will share lots of stories about your Alaska adventures!

Just booked a couple of staterooms for my friend and and I (our 4th DC), and my cousin and her husband. This will be their first cruise and will be tagging on a few days in Disneyland too.

Look forward to joining you all in the planning over the next few weeks

Since you are wanting to get directly to the park, I think you have a great idea. THe closest DL hotel is the Grand Californian, there is an entry directly into DCA from there or you can exit into DTD. If you already have tickets, I think going into DCA is a great idea! Having the bags with your mom in a cab solves all the problems of what to do with the bags. DCL won't care if they are with you on the bus or not. AN since you are paying for the ride, it's all good!

I would caution that the Grand Californian entrance into DCA is intended for guests of the 3 Disney hotels only, and they do check sometimes. I wouldn't count on going in that way instead of the main gate.

Happy anniversary Mike and Tracy I hope this trip is just as wonderful as your last one.

We bought our airline tickets back from LA today!

JetBlue started a sale today that covers our time period. $79 tickets from Long Beach to Portland for a Tuesday or Wednesday return. This works with our plans to spend a couple days at DL The Long Beach airport sucks, but JetBlue is totally worth it.

Every bit of planning we do makes it more and more real. This Sunday we're taking some seasick pills and doing a mini-sightseeing cruise on the Willamette river to see how we do.

I did something I haven't done in a long time... bought a swimsuit. Be afraid, all of you.

I've got FEs all figured out and just a bit of assembly to do.

Is anyone else crazy enough to seriously consider packing at this point? Just me? I can live with that.

My suitcases came out yesterday! I had be buying a " few" things over the past couple days for our trip.. At the Disney twice upon a year sale!!!
Merida costume( dark one), shirts for everyone, towels, Cindy costume for the baby ( you have to see the new baby line soooo cute)

My DH said our dinning room looked like I bought one of everything.. So out came the suitcases to just put everything into one place until I can go trough it and pack it correctly..
Anyone got any good ideas on how to pack costumes???? I hand carried our last ones when going to WDW..
However we have two long flights and another child in toe, so that is not possible..

So I read this thread with interest:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2952508

Is anyone here bothered by our discussion of our meet on FB? If so, how can we fix this situation? Should we be discussing things more here?

I don't think there is much we can do to fix it... They seem to want to stay with Facebook and give there reasons for doing so..
I love the dis boards, Facebook is so-so to me..
We not talk as much as they do on Facebook, but, There Are more people here to help with questions and normally know what they are talking about..
I think it's just there opinion on dis vs. Facebook

I dont worry about such things. I choose not to live my life in fear. Sure, you have to be vigilante in your daily life, but I don't think that you should fear FB. I love it, and personally find it much easier than the boards. But that is me.

That's how I feel, too. I was just hoping nobody here felt left out because there is a FB group.

While I a Facebook user, I do know that not everyone uses Facebook. So I wanted to make sure info that has been discussed there is also brought up here.

At this point, the discussion of our official Meet Day/Time/Place is on the 11th (day 2 of the cruise) at 10am at the Promenade Lounge. If you aren't on FB, how does this sound to you?

Secondly, there is conversation about possibly sharing a van ride from the Port to Disneyland. Are you interested? If you haven't already commented on the FB post, but would be interested, feel free to post.

I have not posted here in quite a while, but I have been following lately. And although I do use fb, I do not use it for more then just keeping in touch with close friends and family. So it would be nice to see the normal meet conversations here. We are really looking forward to our B2B cruises. We would love to stick around for DL post cruise, but we just did that in Feb after our MR cruise.
